Woohoo!!!!!!! After 3 days & smashing the DS3 in frustration, I've finally got gold on Nurgburgring GP/F!! Monza was easy in comparision, just leaves Suzuka....wish me luck lol

Thanks! :-) Need a break to recover before even attempting Suzuka. lol I'll be posting a link here soon to the replay for anyone looking how to beat this track with the DS3.

What were all your settings? SRF, ABS, TCS, Brake balance, ect...?

I haven't put a whole lot of time into them yet, but I did manage to get bronze on them all...

I have only done a few laps on each so far and I have 2 bronze and a silver at Monza. Maybe I'll give it another go again today.

With renewed enthusiasm I made some more attempts at these this week, got nurb and monza gold, suzuka silver so far! But i'll keep at it. I know how to drive it, I just need the good fortune to string together two perfect laps...

Settings I used were:
SRF: On
TCS: Off
ABS: 7
Controller Sensitivity: 7
Everything else turned off.

I didn't even know you could change the brake balance with the DS3 til read a post on here somewhere, so it must be set to default.

Good luck with Suzuka took me a 100 times just to get thru the S and then only bronze also a DS3 user.

Indy

i'm using auto transmission
tcs: off
abs:1
srf:on

Seems to work, now I just need some more conistancy, is there a setting to improve that?

No setting to improve consistency, just practice, practice & more practice you almost have to become a machine to get 2 perfect laps!! The amount of times I saw the "Disqualified" message with the car flying off the track into a wall....torturous. lol

Yeah, in order to change any cars' ABS, TCS, brake balance, and center diff you need to set up buttons for the "RA controls."

I use square to bring up the menu and the dpad buttons to change the settings. It's much easier to play the game ABS off when you lower the brake balance setting.

It's not exactly easy to change settings in that menu when the first corner comes at you in just 5 seconds. Anyway, good luck, I barely got bronze with 0.3 of a second.

Ugh, got within 0.076 seconds of the gold time on suzuka, but I got progressively more tired and sloppy. I need to rest my wrists and left shin(from holding my foot off the brake). This challenge can be a real workout.

I'm in the same boat with just Suzuka left. Feel like a moron when I was in a rush to leave and save and didn't save my replay from the Nurburgring.

Doing it with my old Driving Force from either gt3/4 whenever it came out.

I happily got Bronzes today with DFGT. I had tried when it unlocked and got nowhere so hadn't touched it for a few months.
Once I realized how the turbine ground effect sucks the car to the ground and I should never go fully off throttle for a turn I got Bronzes fairly easily.
I'm not even going to think about Silver let alone Gold though, well done to those who are.

The first time you start the race, set up the RA functions as you wish and then restart.
When you restart, it will save your settings. Otherwise if you finish or DQ they will go back to default.

I just golded suzuka...whew, so glad...now I just have to finish a few championships in b-spec extreme series for the "Gold Standard" trophy.

Just had a go on the vettel challenge, was told to slow down as i wasnt allowed to beat him.

Had my first go on it to day. A big fail, didn't even manage to complete most of the tracks. However, I'll try every day from now on to improve and get gold. This is definitely my biggest dream of GT5, getting all gold for the Vettel Challenge.

This challenge is very hard :) I tried it using pad and failed miserably, switched to wheel and managed to cut some seconds but still far away from even a bronze medal.

I'll try to beat it once I make support for my racing wheel. And I hope that will happen somewhere on the beggining of the next week.

That is why you have to wait at the beginning of the challenge so Vettel gets a lead. This is so you can't bother his ghost car too much on track, otherwise you might go through it and in real life that would be a crash which the Red Bull team do not want happening :sly:.

With a DFGT, gold took me 1hour on Monza, 3 on Nurb, and 8 on Suzuka, be ready to cry with a DS3 on Suzuka. Good luck.

It took me 15 minutes, 2 hour and 3 hours respectively give or take half an hour. Tried afterwards on the pad and I can see why a lot of people are getting frustrated by the challenge. It is very hard to do one fast lap, let alone two. At least the bronze times are quite reasonable to get now and the sensitivity option makes it more doable.
