Learn how to drive it, it takes practice, basically brake way before the corner as it is a 4wd car with way too much power and weight. So it acts like one , heaps of understeer. Usually I shift a gear up so I won't spin out the tired when I exit the corner and then downshift so I gain speed.
 
Why so much hate with this car?
Are you all one of those "if I can't use it and win with it, then it's broken"?
I know it's heavy and very powerful, but learn how to use it and you'll all think differently!
I personally love it and have won races with it, when other more hyped cars failed :D

Exactly, getting gold on s-5 on ascari made me understand the cars handling better
 
I got gold no problem. The car isn't hard to handle, I actually think it handles ok. Just the hype surrounding it was balls.

Think about it compared to the hype nowadays compared to the likes of the McLaren MP4 12C which is an understated masterpiece, winning the most races in its debut year in the GT3 championship against stiff veteran competition.

And what did top gear have to say about the 12C? It has the name of a fax machine and that the Ferrari 458 is better lol. Just like the F40 is better than the F1 eh Jeremy.

Doing the licence at Ascari gave me a good insight into the beast. On a testing track, without the ability to tune and customise the car, I found that it performed admirably. As a matter of fact, a lot better than some others I have driven in GT6.So yeah, I like it, although I'm probably not going to race out and buy one just now.

I think that sums it up nicely. The motoring press wet themselves over the Veyron (Top Gear was bad), and it's not this perfect car everyone thinks it is. It does handle like a boat, and lets be honest it looks like a sperm whale. With that in mind I was left bitterly disappointed by it's shocking handling and massive amounts of understeer. It's just a technical exercise, on how to make a car go quickly in a straight line.
 
I said this before and I will say it again, the people who complain about the Veyron, just cannot handle it, that's it!
It's one of the best cars ever made, has good quality, what most cars even miss. Yeah it turns harder, but its speed will make that good on the straights.

I don't think there was much hype about its track potential. The Veyron is excellent at what it is. It eats miles up in comfort and with relative ease. I don't believe it was ever desgned to be nimble. If I remember rightly it was nowhere near as quick as expected round the TGTT when they finally got their hands on it. Something like a 1:18 with Ferrari 458 and Gallardo etc in the 1:19s and in the company of the agile but less fast (top speed) cars like the caterham 7 r500. You have to drive it like the car it is. A 2 ton, 1000bhp roller skate. I think the Veyron Supersport was a good bit quicker than the standard one.

Thing to keep in mind is that the experience you get in-game is most likely at odds with real life handling. GT6 is better for it's physics engine but most of the cars I have driven in real life (and there are plenty, regrettably not the Veyron though) do not even come close in the game.

The Veyron was the outcome of a "what-if" trial by a bunch of geeks in the Audi R&D empire that wanted to test how far they could push motor technology and as a piece of engineering it was groundbreaking. It set the store for a gaggle of uber-super cars that followed it.

Does it handle well in the game, not really IMO but it's still a great car 👍
 
I can see how driving the Veyron with a DS3 would be really hard. It takes constant and precise input all the way or you will be mowing the grass with it. I'm far from the best GT6 driver but I managed a consistent 1.55 on Grand Vally with RH tires. Using a racing wheel it's like wrestling a bowl of jello but it's doable.

I think it is funny how some people will defend this car and indicate that people who don't like it must not be able to drive.

The fact is the car is to heavy and that causes it to handle very badly. It does not slow down well at all, it does not corner well, it is hard on tires, even harder on fuel and it is possibly the ugliest car I have saw in a long time. Lots of people rave about it, most those who can not drive it but think it is great because it goes so fast.

Yes I could take it and win most of the career races with it if I tried but I could win those same races much easier with a lot of other cars and enjoy doing it much more.

I do think the car drives better in GT than it does in Forza but it still drives like a brick.

The one thing I have yet to see is that car win a race on any track that does not have a straight over 2 miles long

Thanks. That has helped a bunch. I thought I was losing my mind. Could never get the darn thing around a corner.

Have you forgotten it's a luxury car, rather than a track bred car? Just wondering if you have.
 
Imo the Veyron handles sub-par in nearly all games it features in. No doubt because it really is overly large, overweight and slightly cumbersome. Has always felt like it was a car that put straight line top end speed over actual racing and handling refinement.
 
All I can tell you is that it's no racecar. It handles like what it is, a gigantic, ostentatious, overpowered Yacht of a Machine. It is drivable, if you can adapt to it's unique character.

It is driveable sure, but not fun on any level and driving it reminds me a lot of playing ship simulator or euro truck simulator
 
I am by no means a great driver. I use a DS3 controller. I have reached Gold in every career mode race to include Karts. Reached Gold in all licenses except for S-5. I am getting a little frustrated.
 
If the Veyron doesn't handle well, then there isn't a Porsche made that does, accept maybe the new 918. At least, according to the crew at the TGTT. When they tested the Veyron it topped all scores at the time.

No it didn't. The reason VW wouldn't let them have a Veyron when it was first released was they were afraid it wouldn't top the time sheet... and when they finally did get one, it didn't top the time sheet. The revised Super Sport briefly gained the top spot in a later episode but was subsequently beaten by the Ariel Atom.

Fact is, the Veyron is not a drivers car, its an obsessive piece of engineering excellence designed to show how fast you can make a car go in a straight line. It has its followers as do most works of art but as a track car, its a no-go.
 
Hmm . . . guess I'm remembering wrong. Sure seemed like it took the top spot the first go round.
 
The Bugatti Veyron Beetle Edition is coming out at the end of the year I believe...

Well for one thing it only seats 2 people and its emphasis is on speed
