now, lets see you do that in gt mode :)

i nearly had a 5.11, as i just did a 5.16 and was exactly 5 seconds a head. going flat out into the last series of corners, a bump sends me flying off track at 240 some od mph. didnt end well :(

Nah, i probably won´t do it in GT mode as settings sux to be made and also i prefer arcade because everyone will race equal, no excuses nothing as "you had better settings" since in arcade we can´t change them. 👍

Um, how do you get the Minolta in Arcade mode?!?

edit.. NM I'm a dummy. All this time I didn't know unlocked cars worked in Arcade mode.

Ok I get it. You are using your left foot to brake.

Right foot never came off of the accelerator the whole lap.. and you were braking at the same time. No offense, but isn't that a bit of an unfair advantage? Is that what all the fast guys are doing? This game definately needs a clutch. :)

Anyways, excellent driving.

Edit: btw.. are you using manual or auto? Are you using maximum force feedback setting on the DFP2?

Yes i use max forcefeedback and i drive in manual. 👍

Why is unfair to left foot brake, since i do this in real life too and there´s no probl at all? Also the drivers in generall do that sometimes, even in manual cars, when they don´t need to change gears while braking.

In F1 or any other semi automatic gear category, u can find alot of people left foot braking too. :)

But that can be easily done in manual cars too.

Well, IF we want to get REAL nitpicky...

that car has a true clutchless tranny. Now, IF you watch most rally driver's feet, it's not uncommon to see them use left foot braking. I even watched a french rally driver for misubishi beat some of the best japanesse drivers without using toe-heel and he used alot of left foot braking dispite having to shift. These were time trials, so passing wasn't the issue. (this was on best motoring, i can't remeber the issue)

Now, gt4's ability to do both is a bit unreal. Brakes seem to cancel out any throttle, giving anyone an unfair advatedge compared to real life. But I'd like to see anyone come within 20 seconds of that time with or without left foot braking. It's just an awsome time.

Also... there are many other factors to say this isn't "real". Like, how unatural the DFP seems compared to real life. Sure, it's the best on the market, but that doesn't make it realistic.

Personally, I'd much rather argue about the fact of him doing it in arcade rather than sim. I want to see HIS setup on that track. In "theory" he should be faster with the ideal car/track setup. But in theory practice and theory are the same, but in practice they're not.

Oh, and BTW, I'm glad I saw that before I went to bed. That'll give me something good to dream about.

actually, hed be slower in gt mode than arcade due to the arcades simplied phyics :| ive done more than a few laps in gt mode in the 88c-v and compairing it to the video its a lot less stable than what the video shows.

Well that's kinda what I was getting at. The brake is canceling out the throttle. In a real car you just couldn't left foot brake the way he is.. the revs would be to high. Not trying to take away from his skills. Just seems like it's taking advantage of the games fault in that area.

Well, I see your point, and I saw it before you even made it. And I'll still stick by the satement I'd like to see anyone come within 20 seconds of that, regardless. I find it an amazing feet at any rate.

And here's a good and valid point, weather cheating or not, if it's possible to do in a game, SOMEONE WILL do it eventually. People will always find ways to become better at a game, weather through becoming better players themselves, or learning the workings of the game better, they'll become better.

And so I come to my closing comment. "I'd like to race some of you people at a cone event. Where we seperate the gamer and the enthusiast, not by time, but by who simply shows up."

First of all congrats VSB! you have absolutely blown my mind!!!!!!!!

I can't understand some people, someone finally accomplishes something that we would never dare try ourselves or think is impossible and then we shoot them down coz they think it was cheating, wassup with that! Why can't we just be happy for him!

First of all, it takes an immense amount of skill to pull a laptime like that! Left foot braking or not, and secondly that's a friggin clean lap! although it looks like it's in fastforward if you notice the game timer, the clock is ticking in exactly one second at a time!

I'm a slow driver on the ring (7'38" with an M3 CSL GTmode) but i was amazed at the fact that he reached karousel in half the time i did!

thats correct, BUT i never see the lap record in the up right corner, it is not clear ..

Watch the lap timer, it's ticking in exactly one second intervals, sure you could play the replay in FF but the clock will also speed up and it would be done in HALF the time... plus the would be an FF icon on the top lefthand corner of the screen, you can't take that out. Use your common sense people.

Well, if someone really doubts about the video being on fast foward mode, so just get a max drive and i will send you the .max replay file. ;)

hello we are in 2005.. video edit exist i know people that works with that and i dont trust in nobody.. see ya later peace

Yeah, well as veilside says, get yourself a max drive and watch the replay yourself on your own PS2.

And just in case you think I'm "in on it", I called out veilside here in the past. If there had been any problems with this lap, do you think I'd be hosting it?

This lap at the 'ring is as legitimate as they come.
