Anyone know how to transfer Replays from PS3 to computer without a capture card? My capture card is broken. Any ideas are welcome

Is this a GT4 question, or a PS3 question? I will assume this is a PS3 specific question and will move it to the appropriate forum.

For what it's worth, I don't know any way to save the reply to a computer without a capture card of some sort. What you're looking for is a digital transfer of the reply itself but the reply needs the game to replay and is therefore not a standalone movie like an mpeg, quicktime, or wmp file.

Not a problem. I wish it was easier. You would think with the power the PS3 can harness that there would be a 'bounce replay to disk' feature that would encode the video into a mpg/divx type of codec. Then just transfer via normal transfer methods.

Well, it's easier to transfer from PS3 to PS3, and more time effecient, so I'd say just upload the replay file and share that with other PS3 owners, and if someone wants to encode it for you, that'd be cool too.

thats actually a point that i never thought of. i guess i was just hoping for a way to save the replay onto my flash memory, then put it on the pc to encode it. then i could edit it up in Premiere. :indiff:

i use my SONY cammcorder with movie maker... you can record as you play or replay ummm a replay and get it that way. quality is pretty good to. i'm working on my 2nd video now. (drifting the NIKE one 2022) i'll check back here in a few days and see if you want more info on some specifics... here's the 1st

Did you connect it to the camcorder through USB or RCA cables. That is an option as i do have a camcorder to give her a go. thanks chap

you have the cable for your cam??(the one they gave you on purchase to hook up to your VCR , TV etc...) there RCA's 1 vid 2 audio.. you need a triple female to female adaptor unless you have the S-video cable for your ps2 then ya only need a double female to female ( provided that your cam has the s-video option...) connect audio from ps2 to connector then audio from cam to connector... same with the video (if using a TRIPLE) if using S-video connect the audio but put s-video into cam. (i use s-video but still have a triple cuz i just plug PS2 rca video to connector then run an extra single cable back to the tv so i can have picture there as well incase i wanna play as i tape etc...) ok i use the DV input to connect to computer.. that 4 pin cable. it goes right into your video card. (if you dont use 4 pin try with whatever you use to convert to PC with, cant hurt to try) when i power up the cam. windows opens movie maker. NOTICE: i cant have a tape in my cam while i do this cuz it starts a demo 5 minutes into ripping... i used to just tape it with cam (with the setup im sayin) then replay to computer... then noticed that no tape in cam i can just rip strait to PC, so you will need to see if this is the same for you... NOTICE: sense your putting audio threw cam you need to open LCD window on cam if you want sound during the rip, make sure you click the box in windows movie maker to not show a preview... sometimes it slows down the framerate and can give indesired result... (and i always make video 2.1 MBPS 720 x 480 one of the best picture qualities you can use.. then you can make lower grade videos from that if you want EG: my origional drift vid runs at 2079kbps @ 720 x480 61.4mb and my youtube version runs at 521kbps @ 320 x 240 16mb) but if you got another kind of movie maker, numbers might not be the same but same idea i guess... 8D this is the way i do it, there might be another way but if its not broke why try to fix it. well i hope this helps you. i'll check back in a few to see how it went...

sticky side down...

example of triple RCA female to female http://www.audiogear.com/Audio-Adapters-RCA-Plugs.html

JRadGT,

for some reason the other thread wont open for me... so i thought i'd try and make one myself so you can get the info... not sure if you can open the other one but it wont for me so, here we go

Couldn't you have just PM'ed the member you're replying to?

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/private.php?do=newpm

I guess you couldn't reply in the other thread because of the database errors that I and others get in there.

Also, better grammar - and even paragraphs - wouldn't go amiss, stated in GTP's AUP:

AUP
No slang words that promote laziness, ie; "r", "u", "plz", etc. will be tolerated. Decent grammar is expected, including proper usage of capital letters. Repeated violations will be grounds for suspension and/or permanent removal from the forums.

Nevertheless, not a bad tutorial.

I posted this thread for most reasons a thread starts, for infomation. There might be someone else out there wondering how to do it as well. That's why i did not PM JRadGT
What's wrong with my grammer? Was it "cuz" or "ya" ? Just trying to help some members out. But i'll just read threads from now on.

Don't drill me on the repost back to back. It WAS in a different thread; why it showed up here, you got me.

It was probably merged my a moderator, as it was meant to be posted in here as it's on the same subject.

And with your grammar, capitalizing all necessary words, and the "cuz" and "ya" you mentioned would be a good start. It would be so much easier to read if you do. GTP is such the professional forum it is because members stick to those rules. Stick to those, you won't have a problem with posting.

Thanks for helping him and us out, though. :)

JRadGT, where you get to? i take it you got it to work and going flat out infront of the t.v ... lmao hit me back, wanna know if you got it to work 8D.

ahhh, you using a PS3, now i really want you to reply; i was talking about the PS2... but it should be the same anyway... 8D
