Noob question inbound... how do you put a video on the website to where it's not just the link rather the actual video?

I know with pictures you copy the URL and paste it into the "Insert Image" window but how do you do it with videos? :odd:

youtube dot com/watch?v=onhM-hIYYSk

Insert bolded in between

That's how I first learned it.

Try quoting a post with a video. The quoted part should show the codes used to display that video. Then you can just use the same codes. That's how I figured out how to make photos show up and hoe to put names on links instead of just displaying the link url.

Or just embed it with the code the video usually comes with.

Doesn't work.

This is a site question, not a GT5 one. And at the very top of the site help forum - the Help Desk, to where I've just moved this thread - is a sticky that Jordan spent quite some time writing covering all frequently-asked questions about using the site, including the ones about embedding YouTube and Vimeo videos.

If your video is not hosted at YouTube or Vimeo, just post a link to it.
