Viper Concept Gearing

I dotn know if anyone else has noticed, but when using the Viper Concept, you can take a track in gears a lot less than most. For example on laguna seca, i never had to go higher than 3rd, whereas in most other cars im in 5th or 6th down the longer straights.

I dont know if this changes if you add power mods (i only have it on arcade at the mo) but it just seems weird for such a quick car to only be using 3 out of its 6 gears....come to think of it if all 6 gears were used then it must ahve a phenomenal top speed!
 
speed12, you must be only on arcade. buy the high-level transmission and you can adjust the gears. you should gear it so you're redlining top gear on the longest straightaway on the track. any taller and you could be accelerating faster, any shorter and you're losing time by putting it on the chip on the straightaway.
 
u cant do anything about that if its on arcade. But if ur on the Sim. mode and u have it it listen to stereth.
 
i think you can get the concept viper by getting all golds on one of the liscense tests... im not sure which one though.... i think thats how i got mine
 
yes the only ways (w/o cheating) to obtain the viper concept is to win all golds on the S-Liscense test. Or doing the Gran Turismo All-Stars in Pro mode.
 
i managed it as well.

Tough run, but it helps when doing it at the beginning of the game. I'm at less than 70 days and over 500,000cr. And 20 or so cars in the garage.
