I just completed Austria in season 1, which was my very first race with rain. The ai still seem to have this straight line advantage when on inters. Their dry tire pace and wet tire pace are completely disproportionate to each other.

It’s also doing well on PS5. In the Euro top 10.

and top 15 on all US platforms for May - I think we can ignore the merchants of doom, the game is doing fine.

Very positive, and shows what can happen when you deliver a quality game experience. That's on 2 fewer platforms than '24 as well.

Let's hope the license extension goes ahead and they can build on the positivity, more LIDAR circuits, new regs, teams and circuit next season as well, all supports continued sales growth.

Yes, over at the EA Answers Forum this is a hot topic.

The AI have superior performance in wet conditions and the developers are aware of this. Hopefully it will be rectified within the next few updates.

I'm very happy for Codies that this year's title appears to have sold well, given what is going to happen to EA if the Saudi/Kushner debt-loaded buyout goes through. A lot of pressure on the next game though.

If there is a next game. I can't see the buyout not getting approved.

I just started Season 2 and bumped the AI up to 100. The changes they made to AI in wet weather are minimal. They’re a bit slower on inters, but still super quick on wets. Their straight line speed on wet tires is insane, it’s like they have DRS.

Yes Veinz, as you probably know from the EA F125 Forum, this issue (unreasonably fast AI in wet conditions) has been highly commented upon for many months now with only a minor improvement in the latest patch (update).
Many doubt that it will get fixed before F126.

It's more improvement than we have had on the issue over the last 6 years at least, so that's something. There's clearly and underlying thing that's causing it that might need more than a patch to fix, maybe a complete rewrite of the AI? Perhaps with the overhauled 2026 cars we will see an overhauled AI system as there will be some things the AI need to do differently for the next game.

They didn't seem this quick in the rain in F123. I skipped 24 but something feels different about them this time.

I reckon it's to do with the revamped ERS system which was changed, albeit subtly. AI difficulty has always been a bit hit and miss with F1, needing a tool to calculate AI level per circuit isn't ideal 😅.

I still think it's probably the premier AI racing experience out there though.

I totally agree.
Racing the AI in dry conditions, in full distance races, is thoroughly enjoyable for me 😊
There's none of that "rubber-banding" BS.
Yeah 100%, I personally do 50% races but it's still that great experience. I love how you can have a continuous battle with one or two other drivers through a race and have that real life ebb and flow of battle, undercuts, overcuts, all of the elements. Really can't think of another racing game currently out which offers anything close to the experience F1 does.

I'm hoping PMR can get close.

I play seasons simultaneously with 2020 and 25 and it's not even funny how much better F1 2020 is. The driving is way superior and even the graphics look cleaner and better quality somehow. Sure it has wrong race calendar (due to COVID) but it's just an amazing game compared to any of its predecessors (and successors).

F125 is the best since 2021 though. I kinda enjoy it. The biggest issue for me is that the AI difficulty varies so much in the season. Spa, Interlagos, Bahrain, Austria, Imola, etc. are very easy to win but Hungaroring, Miami, Baku, Silverstone, etc. are much tougher. I'm not complaining about the difficulty in general... it's just that the season is not consistent. Austria is so easy to win even lefthanded... it has always been the case though.

Yep... the same issue has more or less been in every F1 game since 2017. Too bad you can't set up individual race AI level separately. This is where Assetto Corsa shines. If track AI is slow, we have modders who can easily make it faster with a new fastlane.

Also it's weird how bad Norris and Piastri are in the season (even after the EA update). And of course Hamilton wins races too which is totally unrealistic (as we know the current Ferrari situation). I have done 20 races of the season and Norris is 8th in the championship. Piastri 6th, Russel leads.. That's way off.

In F1 2020 you pretty much have Hammy, Bottas and Verstappen winning all the races (LeClerc maybe one). That's kinda boring but that's how it actually was.

And yes... AI is still way too fast on the rain tyres. Inters are ok.

These are just all the negatives. It has a lot of good stuff going. It's a solid game overall.
