Top 10 shoot out has begun. Rick Kelly starts his warm up from 10th position.
Kelly does a faster lap than his qualifying lap.
SVG trips up at the start of his lap and at the moment is 2nd behind the NISSAN
Tander almost losses the rear in the dirt, is behind SVG in 3rd.
After 4 cars:
Reynolds
Kelly
SVG
Tander
Will Davison begins his run. Goes 2nd.
James Courtney pushing hard finishes 3rd fastest at the moment.
Jason Bright up next, car a little shakey, goes 4th.
1. Reynolds
2. Davison
3.Courtney
4. Bright
5. Kelly
6. SVG
7. Tander
Frosty up next, goes wide into Turn 1, goes 4th.
Whincup next, not as quick as Reynold's FPR, GOES 2nd!!
Lowndes warming up, pushes hard down the front straight, too wide at Turn1, wide again, dirty lap for Lowndes, goes 10th!
Good job for David Reynolds and FPR.
1. Reynolds
2. Whincup
3. Davison
4. Courtney
5. Frosty
6. Bright
7. Kelly
8. SVG
9. Tander
10. Lowndes

I'm pretty impressed with Reynolds to grab the pole. This seems to be a good round for everyone to have a chance for good finish.

He kept it together the whole lap. I will be surprised, without incident, if FPR dont get a 1,2,3 finish. the Falcons look the business. The Altima was by far the most stable. Let's see which cars can stick it out over all the race distances.

It sucks I'm at work when most races happen, that's why I'm in debate on the actual stream.

Doesn't look good for Rick. The straight line speed is definitely lacking and he has fluid coming out. Possibly power steering. Slade and Holdsworth got spun so they're at the back of the field. REYNOLDS is pulling away from Whincup. Frosty and Davison are right on Whincups bumper.

Look like Whincup was preserving now he's coming back at Reynolds.
Davison and Frosty having a battle now they lost touch with Whincup.

Slade has made up two places in one shot. So the E63 is fast.

Keep in mind this is the first leg of the 60/60. Who ever comes first just starts from first. Next race will be a rolling start.

3laps to go and Frosty is edging closer to Whincup. Reynolds still in front holding up well.

Frosty is getting closer. 1 lap to go.

Reynolds takes the first half. Whincup, then Frosty. 21laps to go after the break.

Second Half rolling start. Whincup gets ahead of Reynolds. Then Drama happens at the hairpin.

Lowndes front damage.
Davison left front damage.
Both HRT cars have damage.
Tim Blanchard is stuck off track.
Loads of debris on track. Safety Car.
Frosty loses grip at the hairpin to pass Reynolds and spins Reynolds. SVG passes them both for 2nd.

What an abysmal advert for the 'quality' of V8 Supercar drivers. Reynolds falls asleep at the start, gifting Whincup the race and costing FPR any chance of challenging RBR.

Then Lowndes schoolboy's it into the braking zone and ruins half the field's race and then Winterbottom takes out his stablemate in a carbon copy of his stuffup on Whincup in NZ! What a joke!

I don't think winterbottom knows how to overtake :P

Seeing fpr cars take each other out
Priceless :)

I agree. You can't let Whincup get a sniff. I jumped out of my seat!

HRT got 3rd which is good. NISMO up to 5th and Slade grabs 6th for Erebus which is great! Can't waits see what happens with that dry ice incident.

That's putting it lightly. Had no idea what Lowndes thought he was going to achieve by braking as late as he did. 👎

At least Courtney scored a podium. And great results for Nissan and Erebus too.

Winterbottom's interview post race was pretty disappointing..."We took two cars off the podium today, so we need to go back, have a chat and move forward". Nah mate, you took your teammate out, there is no 'we' about it.

At least Reynold's was pretty good about it.

Nice result for Nismo and Erebus amongst the carnage, but Whincup with a 230pt lead. Game over :grumpy:.

Some rookie driving from the 'top dogs' of the series today. Nice to see Erebus get their first top ten through Slade and D'Alberto getting in the ten!

Funny, Frosty got a drive thru for punting his mate but, I didn't see any drive thru after Slade and Holdsworth were turned around. I know everything is in review yet, it was clear Mostert, Webb and Premat should have got drive thru's for those collisions.

Tomorrow is a new day, you never know who will do what.

True.
This is interesting from Volvo. The V8 announcement coming this Monday and they're building a new 4cylinder turbo. No doubt wanting to pull in new customers or at least have people looking at Volvo again.

It's NISsan MOtorsports. I switch between NISSAN and NISMO. it's a Nissan Altima and NISSAN MOTORSPORTS International team.

So I can't watch the live streams but the taped videos work so I watched the first half of race 17 but have to watch the rest later.

Not only that but after a promising start to the year with multiple race winners, it's quickly turning back into the same Triple 8 domination we saw towards the end of last year.

What sucks, is if Ford's CEO wanted ammunition to why they should shut down racing operations, all he has to do is show yesterday's race to the board members.

Skaife said the announcement(which we fans already knew) will be made tomorrow but, V8 Supercars have remained tight lipped.

Oh, of course. It's pretty much an open secret at this point. But Dahl has to toe the line and wait for the official announcement. I'm just marvelling at how bad he is at trying to deflect attention.
