Speculation is mounting that championship contender Will Davison will leave Ford Performance Racing for Erebus Motorsport in 2014.
Davison, who has been at the centre of the silly season speculation, has delayed contract talks till after Bathurst, though The Daily Telegraph confirms that he is likely to join the customer AMG Mercedes-Benz team next season.
With Ford still yet to confirm its sponsorship of the factory Ford Performance Racing outfit, the team isn't in a position to offer Davison a deal to the financial level of his current contract.
Chaz Mostert, who is contracted to Ford Performance Racing but is currently on loan to customer team Dick Johnson Racing, is set to be drafted into the factory team to replace Davison in the #6 entry.
Mark Winterbottom remains on contract to the team in 2014 with David Reynolds already committed to the Rod Nash Racing entry in the factory Ford setup on a new multi-year deal.
The future of the fourth entry of Charlie Schwerkolt, currently being driven by Alex Davison, remains uncertain with speculation it could be moving to a rival team in 2014.
Will Davison is likely to team with Lee Holdsworth at Erebus Motorsport in 2014, with Tim Slade already announcing that he will leave the team to move to factory Holden team Walkinshaw Racing in the Supercheap Auto entry next season.
It remains to be seen whether Erebus Motorsport will stay as a three-car operation in 2014 with the license of James Rosenberg, which currently runs Slade, also linked with a move to another team.
