I like it actually, especially the black wheels. So much for retiring with his dignity intact - the team is clearly on a shoestring budget. The car looks like it belongs in the development series.

The release of the official entry list for the 2014 V8 Supercars Championship has confirmed that the field will consist of just 25 cars.
The three Racing Entitlements Contracts that did not meet official series deadlines were Tony D’Alberto Racing, FFF Racing and Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport.
D’Alberto, whose family had been working on a possible alliance with Tekno Autosports as late as this week, is now expected to line-up alongside Tim Slade at Walkinshaw Racing in the Pirtek Enduro Cup.
Together with the reduced field from 28 runners last season the entry list confirms number changes for two RECs.
The James Rosenberg-owned license, which has moved from Erebus to Walkinshaw for the new season has swapped #47 to #222, allowing Nick Percat to carry over the number he had previously run in the Dunlop Series and Carrera Cup.
The Walkinshaw Racing Supercheap REC meanwhile moves from #66 to #47, ensuring Slade retains the plate he drove under at Erebus.
Exactly. I would expect it to be either not far east from COTA, or anywhere west of that circuit.A western state circuit is good because, it's on the way back to Oz from COTA.
Also, the article states that Fabian's car will be all chrome and if it is anything like Scott Mac's Bathurst livery last year, it should look really cool.
According to that press release, the Lockwood car is chrome.
I would love for Laguna Seca to be the second venue but, I think Road America or Daytona would be sweet.
Please, no oval/roadcourse mixups. Just do a regular road course, Laguna or similar. I think Miller in Utah would suit the cars pretty well, but that track wouldn't draw a huge crowd. (I would drive up there for the race though)
The problem is that it's going to be very expensive to go too far from Austin. America is a big country, and so having races at opposide ends of the States is only going to drive costs up, unless they can get a promoter willing to subsidise the event. Lime Rock, Watkins Glen and Detroit, for instance, are simply too far away. There are plenty of race tracks. MILLER is nice, Sedona, Road Atlanta, Lime Rock, etc. A western state circuit is good because, it's on the way back to Oz from COTA.
Bingo....or a support race for the Sonoma NASCAR event.
Alexandre Premat will return to the V8 Supercars Championship with Volvo Polestar Racing for this year’s Pirtek Enduro Cup.
The Frenchman’s two-year stint in the championship as a full-time driver for the then Holden squad came to an abrupt end at the conclusion of the 2013 season, with the former DTM driver replaced by Swede Robert Dahlgren.
Premat joins Greg Ritter in the team’s Sandown, Bathurst and Gold Coast line-up.
The exact driver pairings with Dahlgren and team leader Scott McLaughlin are yet to be confirmed.
Which I think would work pretty well. Aside from being a great circuit - especially in that first sector - as far as I am aware, the Nationwide Series does not race at Sonoma. V8 Supercars would work well as an "undercard" event, with an audience on-hand. The only possible hurdle would be a clash with the enduros, but if the series could establish a relationship with NASCAR and bring the Sonoma date forward, it could work.Bingo.
"From our side, we’ve certainly chosen colours we think tick all those boxes and hopefully will be quite noticeable on a TV screen.”The shift to twilight racing creates another factor, with the dusk lighting affecting the look of the cars – something Maddison was excited about and felt worked to the team’s advantage.“I guess this is where we will start to see teams use the lighting on the vehicle to help … the car look exciting on track.“Fortunately the standard E63 road car has an LED lighting system, so we’re able to adopt that into our approach on the race car.“It’s a simple system to use and low voltage, so that’s nice from a racing aspect and low consumption – but as far as twilight we want colours that are going to work and be exciting at night. That’s not necessarily that the car is going to be reflective like what we might have at a GT event or 12-hour where the car is running literally through certain parts of the night, but we want to make sure that if it’s under certain light it’ll jump off the screen.”
Sonoma.
On one of their cars - Davison's is the silver and grey design. I cannot see silver, grey, black and blue working. As a general rule, you want no more than three colours: either two dominant colours on their own, or two dominant colours and a third for highlights. I am not counting colours that only appear in the sponsor logo. They doing the liveries on the V8's close to what they are running on the SLS's this weekend?
