Why would a team not start the co-driver on soft tires when everybody else is on hards?
Because the format doesn't allow for much creativity in strategy. If it was the Gold Coast 500 or the Gold Coast 750, it might be less of a problem - it needs half a stint more or half a stint less to open up strategies.

Didnt they try a double stint though?

Yes but, temps are higher now and they need those sorts at the end. Too much bite taken out in the first stint. Plus, not enough soft tyres in the bank.

As mentioned, not enough laps to make a soft-hard-soft play. Now, this safety car could pay off for R.Kelly.

#111 Drive through penalty.

Would like to see the incident again. From first look it didn't look like #111 warranted a penalty at all...

Yeah, good move to pit while the safety car was out.

Didnt they say the likely race strategy was H,H,S tires with the co-driver on hards?

Think the #222 has a cracked header.

Lots of follow the leader going on. Unfortunately a byproduct of street courses.

Yes. You're questioning why a team wouldn't start a codriver on softs to buck the optimum strategy.

Ugh, I wish they would drop the Tander Courtney deal from yesterday. It's over, move on.

Don't get why it was even an issue to begin with. It's not like they put each other in the wall or something. What's the big deal?

Love the 3 Nissan's playing caboose on the field.

Moffat looks in good position.

Definitely short filled Courtney to jump Pye.

Great shot there of Wood's right rear suspension travel over the kerbs.

Simona went all the way to Australia and her damn pork chop car followed her there.:(

Riding on board with McLaughlin during his battle with Lowndes is great. You definitely get a good sense of which car is stronger where. Loving Fox Sports' additional coverage.

Only negative is the lack of an option to keep the commentary and on screen display.

Cool. Pye didn't have long to wait. This will be interesting. Dang! These freakin releases.

Hmm, Caruso pitted right before that safety car came out and since they didn't have to pit again he finds himself in 3rd. I wonder if this was a huge break for the #23, even when they pit with everyone else one more time.

Moffat has to be careful. He's going good.

Caruso is out of his league.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but I believe that cars exiting pit road should yield to cars on track. Moffat was robbed there and he probably won't recover from it.

Edit: Yeah, replay shows the whole deal as total BS. No way he would have made that corner.

Pretty crap penalty for Moffat, if tried to make the corner it would have been a massive crash

Just like Winton, this is the dumbest and most dangerous pit lane exit.

They don't really have any other option

Edit: Unless they went American or Formula E style and not have the pit lane on the main straight

Yeah since Caruso came in a few laps before everyone else, I highly doubt he's going to make it.

If they must keep that chicane, make it right left instead of left right like it is now.

Van Gisbergen making a statement to Whincup about next year with that pass.

I'm not sure how much they could do that due to boundaries

Caruso won't be keeping up with those guys.

Moffat will keep in front. That's for sure.
