Honestly I would suggest 330HP Limit because that's a very wide variety of cars and setups, but your VDC is very popular because of how its ran. So I would just keep everything the same if you want it to stay popular.

There is something Like this IRL its Called "Drift Master Series" where all participants were using hundai genesis.
And trust me its a very nice thing to have a same car battle ... tandems will be very close because the cars match, there and ONLY there the Driver will make the difference!

EDIT: and if you want to limit something you should limit PP or HP+weight not just HP alone
Ono , not very long ago me and Lerk were drifting 2002i and you were tryin to follow with a FR old Evo ...
Didnt you notice that we were able to run the same line and same angle no matter who lead and who followed ? and you were either flying ahead of us when you lead or hitting/spinning when chasing us?
The point is: having Same cars is not just about fairness ... its much much more fun and will result in really epic battles...

Yeah I get what you saying b, now after reading what you said it makes me think that it could actually be pretty cool :dopey: Let spank think through it and make the final decision 👍
 
I kinda agree with it too. It would show who the best actually is when it comes to tuning/battling.
 
I need a list of people who volunteer to run vdc along with me. Thia includes opening rooms, judging, keeping things calm and organized.
 
If judges who voluntered dont show up i can judge and also i can open lobbys if the person who should cant. So basically I can do as like a backup for VDC. 👍 ;)
 
@spank i'l help in anyway i can apart from judgin i really dont wanna be a judge. cant wait for VDCs3 the best & most organised & well run drift comp on GT5
 
I don't think we should be limiting everything so much. I'd say if vipers, vette's, and spirit rx7's were taken out of the equation, with cars limited to 100k, 450hp, and 1200kg then the competition would be very close. I believe spank once said he wanted VDC to be the FD of Gran Turismo... Fd has very few limitations on cars, with the biggest being tire size for the power/weight ratios. Since GT5 doesn't allow us to change tire size, i think a relatively loose power/weight/budget restriction would result in the most fun for everybody.

I always wanted vdc to be like xdc not formula d. Although xdc has formula d rules and they do speed match to a set point. But only vdc has such limitations because its s drift event which many people don't have sponsorships for tires, etc.

Bad idea, you know how many times ive seen people lose due too no speed match??? people just crank it off the line and make a huge gap that some cars cant recover from....
 
I'm going to do this, this time around but hopefully my connection gets better by then cause I don't think I would be able to if I got lag
 
i agree a speedmatch ensures both drivers enter scoring part of the run equally no speedmatch would work if the judges didnt score at all for speed & gap between cars but that wouldnt be a battle.
 
I think lets not get too carried away with the rules, I think the rules that are set now all really good. And speedmatch is a must imo.
 
Speed matching will stay.

- tire wear on
- grip sef to real
- damage on heavy.
