And if not, just hold two qualifying sessions to drop down to the last 16.

It doesn't really matter how many are registered really and participate.

You just hold as many qualifying sessions as needs be until you come down to the last 32, then another two qualifying sessions to get the top 16 which then go head to head in twin-battles.

That's the way I'd run it anyway :)

the question is.. who is going to hold that many qualifying sessions? we dont have enough staff to judge the qualifying sessions since we have lives outside of GT5 unless people are willing to provide their time.

I understand that some people may have failed to show up in VDC1, but with all the time passing until opening day for VDC2, youve created some hype for event and people are waiting in anticipation to get their taste of competition. I am sure they are just as anxious as i am to compete with the best in the game and see where we all match amongst each other. it looks as though VDC2 is a more wide spread audience and has a bit more following this time around. it seems that this is not just subjected to those that drift with each other on a consistent basis or the frequent GTP users that follow the threads.

I am not trying to create any arguments. Its just something im thinking of as i wait for the VDC gates to open.
 
It's to my understanding that people qualify for the top 8. So if all applicants turn up, two rooms will be opened by two different judges and the top 8 scorers will go through, simples.

I dropped out and will only judge. We have Alex and Jimmy who have volunteered to judge with me. So we have 3 judges. We will stick to the same, top 8 will move to the main event. I would love to do 32-16-8 but that would extend this tourney out too long and 32 people are garanteed to show up. I would like to do 16-8 to winner but there has to be spots for the judges. And i now i made this thing early for people to register but i would rather people sign in now rather then the last minute. But for the time zone differences I have always created a room at 10am my time for them to make it. I use to open a room later on for people in North America but everyone all showed up for room one. I can open a second room for people in North america because its on the weekends I dont have my son. Anymore problems?


Edit: BTW I have updated the list in the second post. Please check and make sure I got everyone, if you are missing please let me know asap.
 
The 'comp points' spread out at the end should be across all 8 qualifiers, considering how many people they have just beaten.

for the record it never was a problem. just needed some clarification to see if i was going to be able to compete thats all.
