I don't see what the big deal is, it can be beaten on every price point and it bares little to no significance in whatever supercar class it was intended for.
The only remotely innovative thing about it could maybe be the unique W-type engine it has, but then again for only 500,000 CR more you could get the Bugatti that has the W engine that matters.
It seems to be designed to go around in circles, as it holds some handful of records at the track is was named after, The Nardo Ring. Then it was never seen again... way to prove your super car building abilities, Volkwagen. I applaud you. It must've cost millions to design and build and then run it in a circle - wow.
Anyway... it just looks like to me some sort of dick-waving to show the market that Volkswagen is kuhl. It wouldn't fit in my garage. It has no significant standing in any page of automobile history even in Volkwagen itself. Also the interior of such a fabled car is absolutely terrible. It also kind looks like a bottom feeder. Now if GT5 had the Nardo Ring... than maybe I'll partake in some of that action - but until then it should happily reside in the UCD for eternity.
There are plenty of Ferrari's, Lamorghini's, McLaren F1s, and ZZ-II's that are much better than it. If you had 20 million and have nothing else to do with your credit, than I might suggest it but really it seems so superficial to me.
