Hi.

I'd tested GT4 at Karstadt and I've to admit that it's not easy to drive GT4 with gamepad instead of you're allowed to configure your controls.

so how do you play GT4? With gamepad or steering wheel? How good can you handle the car with them?

EDIT: Could one mod change feelings into mood please. Thanks.

I do just fine with the DS2 controller. I might buy a wheel once I finish GT4 and start over but for now the controller works fine.

Correction to the poll:
Depends on my wife's feelings...
Whenever I want to play with the DFP, I'll have to get my 'cockpit' out and I then I only play with the 5.1surround on 'loud"!

She has to be in the mood for that.

If she not happy: me and my DS2

I play using the DS2 most of the time, but I am trying to get used to my DF wheel. Funny thing is that whenever I play with the DF for a while, afterwards my times with the DS2 improve a bit.

I play with the DS2, and it works just fine for me in most situations. I'm going to step up to a DFP as soon as I can afford one though, since the DS2 lacks the precision of a steering wheel in close situations when passing the AI. But for hotlapping I find the DS2 works pretty well, although I have heard the DFP will produce faster lap times (probably because it is much easier to drive more smoothly with a wheel/pedal combo vs. a DS2).

gamepad with both sticks.

no room for a wheel unless i sat on floor then break my neck looking up :D

DFP and i love it.
Me controllers are not the same way they used to be anymore... (Anyone seen a L1-Button? :D)

I use the DS2. I had considered the wheel at one point, but I think I'll wait for PS3/GT5 for it. Not buying the wheel is my passive aggressive reply to being unhappy with the engine sounds.

I use the DF (not pro) wheel all the time. I never was very good with the DS2 and I tended to wear out my thumbs after long sessions. Wheel is a lot easier on the hands...

Wheel!... Having used a wheel for much of GT3 and now GT4, i find trying to use a DS2 results in me over-correcting steering issues, thus i fly off the track in spectacular style.

I usually use the DS2 for a few quick races and right now i'm faster with it, although if i'm sitting down for a long time then i'll use the DFP.

I play GT4 with the Driving Force Pro Steering wheel with 900 degree mode enabled. I can handle the car alot better then I would with the DS2 because you have alot more control of the car. I prefer it over the DS2.

I always use the DFP but i went to my cousins house and he doesn't have one. I really doubt i would get into GT3-4 as much as i have it i didn't have the DFP. Its just not as fun. Plus my lap times are way better with the wheel. Braking and throttle control is alot more easily accomplished with the wheel also. I'll never use my regular controller again if i can help it. :yuck:

i've always used the DS2, and im recently switching to DFP. my times dropped dramatically when i switched since im not used to it yet, but's it's been steadily decreasing

You mean your times went UP? Losing time means you are getting faster.
