How should the driver names be?

  • Total voters

  • Poll closed .
I think I can narrow it down to 3, each in different countries but all very intriguing choices.

I'll make it easy for everyone. Tracks possible in the announcement tonight.
Circuit de Barcelona-Cataluya
Oulton Park
Donington Park
Circuito de Albacete
Autodromo do Algarve
Autodromo do Estoril
Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours
Circuit Park Zandvoort
Nurburgring
Hungaroring
Norisring

I'll go with Algarve because it'd be cool to see Indycars drive in there, and if the track was good enough for F1 testing then why not use it as a venue for a ficticional Indycar event?

VRR has officially unveiled plans of a race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya near the end of the season. it will join Brno, Nogaro, and Lausitzring in the European leg of the 2017 season. "Being able to pencil in the Barcelona circuit is one step closer to making 2017 everything we want it to be." VRR Founder Angel Porter said today. "We still have 2 European races and a Pacific race to pencil in, but to have Spain as an IndyCar nation is a great stride." The race is planned to be 67 laps, bypassing the chicane used for Formula One near the end of the lap. Ferrari is believed to be hoping on board as a title sponsor for the event.

Since Gerarghini has revisited GTPlanet and has not voiced his want to continue in the series, I will now pass the spot to Cat Devil Racing and let Kuni decide on what she wants to do with it. Depending on what she does, an Indy 500 spot for an Audi team will open up, and first call on that spot will go to Cherokee Motorsports.

I'll take an Indy 500 spot if that's how it kind of works. :s
Right now, it's all hinging on decisions from Kuni and Clayton. Gerarghini backed out, which handed rights to the spot to Kuni since she's the factory team owner. If Kuni accepts the full time spot, then Clayton has first call on an Indy 500 seat.

That decision in regards to the extra spot only pertains to the teams that have two cars or more, correct?

No. It can be presented to any team. If Kuni defers, she chooses who it goes to next and so forth. Same with Clayton's Indy spot.

At what point do I and my team get a choice? Just curious?
It would depend. Both would have to completely cycle through their engine manufacturers before it lands in Chevrolet territory, and since my team is full, it would then de-facto go to you.

Not sure where Kuni stands on her decision, but I will accept the Indy 500 entry for Cherokee Motorsports-Audi.
I would like to think she'd accept since she already has a car and driver ready. It would make my job easier.

Currently, this is what 2017 looks like grid wise.

There's a confirmed 19 full time drives, 21 if HWM has both cars running full time. Starting in 2017, the grid will be reduced to 26 full time seats, but there can be up to 42 Indy 500 entries.

Also, practice results for the 2015 Monster Shootout will be up at 10:00 p.m. EST tonight.

Jackson looking to stay with Cat Devil Racing for 2017

Despite a busy plate juggled between multiple series, Camyron Jackson seeks to keep a seat on the Cat Devil Racing team for 2017. "While we've had some ups and downs in pre-season, I felt I've really settled in with the team and I don't want to just have a single season with them, I'd like to have multiple seasons with them and to hopefully compete for the championship with them". While he is in for the full 2016 season, he has not been confirmed to stay for 2017 as have neither of his other teammates.

D/O Glover speaks about 2016 and 2017....briefly

Well we're about to run out 2015 exhibition event for bragging rights and maybe that boost from the suppliers, running an open-wheel operation requires sights further ahead than most fendered series, Sports cars and LMPs perhaps the exception as far as I can tell, and while I can't tell you why that is, I can say I intend to at least be involved for the foreseeable future. In 2016 our only NCTX teammate in any racing series thus far will be @Whitetail in the 500, but when it comes to 2017 if anyone were to take interest in joining our little organization, in any series, I'd be happy and willing to listen to what they had to say, and while I may retort it would take a fair amount for me to say no.

Finally, I'd like to state that I have been thinking about our team name. It's.....appropriate for me at least, but it likely wouldn't be if I did take teammates on, so with that the 'NCTX' name is no longer absolute and may even change before the season begins.

Mugen Motorsports drops to 1 car for 2016 Season

"After a sponsorship deal fell through, Mugen Motorsports is disappointed to announce that it has been forced to cancel the entry for the #38 car. This comes as a bitter blow to the team's chances this year, as it will leave all the setup work to Aaron Van der Linden in the #27 car. With very little oval experience, it's going to be a steep learning curve this season."

"Not a good session for me at all. Car is so loose and the traffic makes everything worse here. No one in the team is where they want to be. Audi look really strong here, which may be trouble for us. We'll try to improve the cars before qualifying."

Good news/bad news is that we were 'ehh' but our teammate did well. That aside my first reaction to the leader was this:

Why? Because Harsk. Seriously, how is it that any series you are in, you manage to be up front early and often? I'd love to 🤬 know.
