I should finally be there if i don't have to go somewhere

Okay, Honda drivers unite in hatred of me doing some BoP testing! At Mid-Field, the leading HSV GT500 I learned was down on torque because the driver didn't apply the engine tuning to his car. This 'development' part is good for about a second in lap time as I learned testing the GTR GT500 at Silverstone for the GTPlanet Endurance race.

This evening I purchased an HSV, put a basic tune on it, and in a few laps around Apricot Hill I ran 4 tenths faster than the Lexus I've been working on for about a month now. Due to this I would like to request that the Honda's BoP to be examined as I feel it gained horsepower when it wasn't necessary.

Of course, I don't want to jump to conclusions so I had an HSV driver run some laps around Apricot as well as myself. Data below.

ET=Engine Tuning

JACKOLANTERN31: HSV driver
HSV 485bhp 1140kg no ET - 1'15.187
HSV 480bhp 1140kg w/ ET - 1'14.9xx*
HSV 475bhp 1140kg w/ ET - 1'15.095*

GTP_Bambi: Lexus driver
SC430 500bhp 1140kg w/ ET - 1'15.154
HSV 485bhp 1140kg w/ ET - 1'14.7xx
HSV 475bhp 1140kg w/ ET - 1'15.070*

*driver comments that there is a moderate amount of time left in the car.

Well ****. I can't catch a break. *Insert more rage fueled language* Let me just drive the Honda OPV so I can be competitive!!! Just messing:lol:

But in all honesty, good. Every time power has been put down after I've been fast, it seems I'm consistently getting betterish, at least in regards to running the same lap times. This will be fine with me even though I know my opinion doesn't really carry any weight. It gives me more room to grow and actually gain skill rather than using a OP car.

I did some testing with the GT300s too (in the same lobby as Bambi and the others) mainly with the Corvette, Lexus, Subaru, RX7, Audi and the Ford. Between the first four I've mentioned the times were very close to each other, but the Ford is off by over half a second off and the Audi is even further back. I ran about 6~7 laps multiple times in each car (started from the pits with full tank). I put my current success ballast (36 kg) on each of them. So I would like to request that the Ford's BOP be examined. I tried myself different settings (either less weight, more hp or both) for both the Ford and the Audi.
  • Corvette 345bhp 1186 kg - 1'19.229
  • Lexus 350bhp 1186 kg - 1'19.421
  • Subaru 350bhp 1186 kg - 1'19.362
  • RX7 320 bhp 1136 kg - 1'19.179
  • Audi R8 350bhp 1286 kg - 1'21.052 (increase of 10 hp, handling is not bad but it's still off the pace of the rest)
  • Ford GT 315bhp 1236 kg - 1'20.327
  • Ford GT 315bhp 1216 kg - 1'20.210 (20 kg less, could have been two tenths quicker though)
  • Ford GT 325bhp 1236 kg - 1'19.847 (increase of 10 hp, same weight)
  • Ford GT 325bhp 1226 kg - 1'19.393 (increase of 10 hp, 10 kg less)
Note: All these best laps were done at nigh time (approximately after 0:00 local track time). I really don't know what can be done to the Audi to make it more competitive.

I'm taking these BoP recommendations with a grain of salt, just so you all know. I can guarantee that the regs are not changing this week because I tested them last week at Mid-Field, Apricot Hill, and Tsukuba, and adjusted them for that stretch of tracks. I'm not adjusting regs for each race. That just flat out won't happen. Next set of testing takes place after Tsukuba or after a new update, whichever comes first.

I'm sorry, but there's no point in racing if the HSV is nearly a second faster. You either tested without Engine Tuning or REALLY screwed up with BoP. I highly suggest you take another look at the BoP.

Based on what evidence asides from heresy? You guys are throwing around suggestions here, there and everywhere without providing evidence of anything. I can't make a move until tomorrow at best when I test them on my own. You want leniency, from now on provide pictures before you start free range scrutineering.

Want pictures? Fine. Getting salty with your drivers for suggesting BoP changes because they want a more fair race? Not Fine.

Nothing wrong with a person asking for evidence.

You guys do this every race. I'm not changing the regs every race. Unless I have photo proof of what you guys are seeing, all I can go on is what I find personally. That's not being salty, that's being honest, let's get that straight.

The Audi's a power limited GT3 car thrown in with PD-made creations and full fat GT300 cars. I've gotten a grip on the handling thanks to your setup, so the best I can really do to get the most out of it if it's still struggling for performance is just continue with my balls-to-the-wall technique. I did it in ToCA, I will do it here too.

Besides, @Whitetail won GT300 Season 1 in the LMS, so at least he knows a thing or two about how to make a car go fast.

Also, I will likely commit to Season 3, staying in GT300 as I know my limits, but with a switch to a more competitive car.

I feel you missed the whole "At Mid-Field, the leading HSV GT500 I learned was down on torque because the driver didn't apply the engine tuning to his car. This 'development' part is good for about a second in lap time as I learned testing the GTR GT500 at Silverstone for the GTPlanet Endurance race." part. Jack was running similar lap times to the rest of the field WITHOUT Stage 3 Engine tuning. We didn't realize this a week ago, or else we would of said this sooner. Me and Bambi will have pictures for you soon.

Not sure why you aren't getting that Ford. That GT is always top two in my time sheets, no matter what track it is.

Sorry for the double post, but I've always tested the cars with the full engine upgrades, so that doesn't help me. That says there are obviously people a lot faster than me, but I did all the BoP testing based on the full torque load.

Balance of Performance (BoP for those unaware of what that actually means) will be changed tomorrow for three cars. Ford GT, Honda HSV, Audi R8 LMS ultra.

Here are the results from today's testing. No manipulation here, there are photos to prove the times.
Apricot Hill
Honda HSV-010 / 1'13.498
Lexus SC430 / 1'14.037 (+0.539)

Tsukuba Circuit
Honda HSV-010 / 50.149
Lexus SC430 / 50.410 (+0.261)

Mid-Field Raceway
Honda HSV-010 / 1'04.531
Lexus SC430 / 1'04.864 (+0.333)

Comments: Two tenths around Tsukuba is a lot of time, and I spent a great deal of laps in the Lexus to achieve a lap below a 50.5. Mid-Field Raceway is the most Lexus-friendly track of the three I tested with its high speed corners and the Honda was still faster. The difference of lap at Apricot Hill is probably the most damning piece of evidence that the Honda is a bit overpowered. Yes certain cars are better at certain tracks but a difference of a half second is way too much.
Mid-Field Raceway
Honda: 1:04.549
Lexus: 1:04.925 (+0.376)
Apricot Hill
Honda HSV-010 / 1'13.751
Lexus SC430 / 1'14.182 (+0.431)

Tsukuba Circuit
Honda HSV-010 / 50.635
Lexus SC430 / 51.017 (+0.382)
Apricot Hill
RX7 / 1'18.348
Corvette Z06 / 1'18.705 (+0.357)
Subaru BRZ / 1'18.730 (+0.372)
Lexus IS350 / 1'18.741 (+0.383)
Ford GT / 1'19.264 (+0.916)

Tsukuba Circuit
Corvette Z06 / 53.190
RX7 / 53.256 (+0.066)
Lexus IS350 / 53.302 (+0.112)
Subaru BRZ / 53.344 (+0.154)
Ford GT / 53.696 (+0.506)

Mid-field Raceway
RX7 / 1'09.978
Corvette Z06 / 1'110.110 (+0.132)
Subaru BRZ / 1'10.205 (+0.227)
Lexus IS350 / 1'10.390 (+0.412)
Ford GT / 1'10.613 (+0.635)

Comments: So like yesterday, I tested the cars with my success ballast of 36 kg. It's clear on Apricot that the Ford is at a disadvantage, the lack of straight line speed and acceleration really hurts the car. At Tsukuba and Mid-field the handling is not bad, but again the combination of being the heaviest car of these five and being slow on acceleration makes it lose a lot of time. I put a lot of time into each car, especially on the Ford and the conclusion I have gotten is that the car's BOP needs an adjustment.

Could you test the M3 GT2 please because I am 2 seconds off the pace of the Ford GT on Apricot Hill.

The testing was done without tire wear on so that testing could be done on a more control environment (not having to take fuel weight into account and just test it's maximum pace). I went ahead and tried the M3 GT2 in the same condition as the others (with the 36 kg added) and it is off by at least 7 tenths (at least 2 tenths more can be found). It's very easy to lose at lot of time in the hairpin.
