I was disappointed with Portugal's effort in 2010.
My dad is Portuguese and my mom is Brazilian. Don't ask me how they ended up in South Africa. Long story for another day.
I haven't really been following Euro this year but I'm proud of the fact that Porraland has made it to the semi's. We just gotta get rid of Spain for a German vs Portugal final ...

... and stay friends when one of us loses?

But, no worries, I don't take football that seriously.

Surprising that two Portuguese speakers found them in a place that speaks Afrikaans.

Also, I finished V2.0 of the banner. I'll upload it shortly. EDIT: And done.

I'm heading out of town until tomorrow. Hopefully we'll have a team announcement by then:sly:

I can't wait. :) I'll figure the banner out before Saturday. In the meantime, I said sleep about 10 posts ago, and I meant it.

But, in other news, and in other ways, I had a good night. So, it certainly was a worth-while night. Not specifically for what I did for this series, but, also for chatting with a lady friend...

Soccer, like this series, is just a game ... I'm slowly learning that this is just for a fun time and it shouldn't reflect/affect the real world ...

My Grandfather from my mothers side was a missionary from Brazil, so she ended up here when she was 16 ...
My dad ... who knows ... maybe they thought that the grass was greener on the other side ...
I'm glad to see that you know your different cultures ...

P.S. Don't ask me to speak Portuguese, cause I might swear you in Afrikaans ... :D

Edit: Much better ... It's more Jormo-Subaru style ... :sly:

Haha, I don't speak either yet. I speak both sister languages; Dutch and Spanish though. Well, okay, not Dutch. I speak German. THEY'RE CLOSE GENUG/GENOEG. I had to...

Anyways, I'm glad you like the new banner. Good afternoon. I need sleep.

Goed genoeg MrM ...

Slaap goed ...

Dis naby genoeg MrM ...

 "Wie bitte?"

"WHAT?" I don't speak Dutch... not really. I only understand spoken/written Dutch... I imagine that's Afrikaans. I have no clue. But, in context, it might mean "Good afternoon?" Or "good morning." Meh. Whatever, I'll check it after.

Wait, "slaap goed" sounds like "schlaf gut."

Afrikaans has Dutch foundations, but slightly different dialect ...
My step mother is Dutch so I been trying to brush up on my Afrikaans ...

Nice Video 👍
The "crash" of me was pretty easy: I decided for going outside of johnny and he kinda steered onto my line (unfortunately he decided the same way xDD) and I had no room; but atleast I managed not to hit cnd :D

Madrid Reverse is the first Season Race ??
I like this Track very much :D

 Of all the people to explain it to... I'm a volunteer translator for refugees.

But, in other news 👍 ... followed by snoring.

Fellow German (sorta :) ) here.

(Still not bad)

I thought you were sleeping already ... lol

Thanks I think my refugee camp is in need of more volunteers ...

And to explain my team name ...
Jorge is my surname, so Jormo = Jorge Motorsports ...

I'm also going to be assuming that everyone's done with the switching cars at Madrid.

Well I guess I'll stick to the Scooby for the rest of the season and see how things pan out ... :nervous:

Sorry for the double post ...

East Coast Motorsports makes ITCC entry announcement

East Coast Motorsports has announced that they will be fielding a two car team for the upcoming ITCC season after encouraging preseaon results. The second driver is yet to be announced. It was unknown whether the team would compete until the day of the final preseason event at Suzuka, where team owner LancerEvo7 took a win. When interviewed, he said the following:

"I thought this series would be something fun to bring the team into, and I turned out to be right. I think not enough people are taking advantage of the allowance of 4 wheel drive. If you can control the tire wear, It can be a lot smoother and faster than front or rear wheel drive.

"We were able to pull out a win at the third race at Suzuka after racing hard with Markus. My car was a bit down on power down the straights, but I could stick it wherever I wanted in the corners and brake very late. The rain didn't help us as much as I thought it would, although we were even more overweight at that point. Luckily we were allowed to remove weight from the car mid-round.

"I do regret bringing the GSR model instead of the RS. We were actually close to 200 lbs heavier than the regulations said we had to be. I'll be switching to the Evo VII RS for the first points race, and our second driver will be driving an Evo VIII RS, most likely. It's a done deal with the second driver, we just need to sign the papers before we announce it.

"I'm looking forward to Madrid. The configuration we'll be racing on is one of my favorite in the world, and I think the narrow streets and our light weight will give us an advantage for the race. Acceleration will be key."

East Coast Motorsports has experience touring car racing, having fielded 3 cars in the GTMSA ITCC in early 2010, taking a win before the series was discontinued after only 2 rounds. They also fielded a car in the Volkswagen Golf spec series, finishing second in points.

Awesome racing everybody 👍, really enjoyed watching the video of race 3. Wish race 1 and 2 were uploaded, could watch a couple more while I drink my morning coffee.

Any word on the official divisions yet? ...

MAFIA MOTORSPORTS
LOOKING FORWARD TO MADRID

The team has just arrived in Madrid, Spain. This is the first impressions from cnd01. "I really like the street circuit. It always is difficult to pass though. I will expect more contact this week because of that". The other MAFIA Motorsports driver Jamie has already taken some laps. He ran some very respectable times. cnd01 will be testing most of the day today, but he has to leave the country and fly back stateside for a 90s GT1/GTS race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. MAFIA Motorsports will be keeping you posted on lap times as well as any other announcements.

It's been one hell of a year for the Mazda RX-7 factory team and their lone driver Tank. Whilst they have tried to consistently compete, the car was far from complete. They missed the first preseason event at Cape Ring due to not meeting safety regulations.

At Monaco the RX-7 team managed 2nd in qualifying and in the first race, until engine failure kept them out of the rest of the event. At Grand Valley East the team had failed to complete tuning before the first event and finished dead last. In the next race, their strategy was ruined by two collision into the Stadium that was entirely the other parties fault. They finished 2nd from last. The team's management could see how distraught Tank was, but despite their best efforts, the young driver was unable to perform in the final sprint, coming home ahead of only the drivers whom had been the unfortunates in collisions during the race.

After this string of poor results, the team's backing company "Nymeria" pulled out all funding for the team. The team board was in complete disarray. They tried to initiate talks with "Team RoB." They even donned the colours at the next event Tsukuba. The team went into the event nervous that something else would ruin their plans. Lucked had seemed to not be on their side. They also had a rookie driver whom may not have had the maturity to keep his head above the water during this torrid time.

However, Tank was revitalised after summiting Mt. Fuji during race preparations in the week before Tsukuba. He took a 2nd row position in qualifying. Then, with beautiful strategy, took a convincing 2nd place. Repeating his strategy in the 2nd race seemed like folly to some in the team, as he was now starting at the back. However, not to be deterred, he went ahead and used the clear track available to him, whilst others were fighting each other tooth and nail to once again finish 2nd. Again, starting from the back for the sprint, Tank now got good drive from the grid start and was 3rd within half a lap. After many incidents, Tank came through for a 3rd in a battered car. 3 podiums in one race weekend was no easy feat. Even if for but a fleeting moment, the team were jubilant.

However, in the background, talks broke down with "Team RoB." Again a sombre mood filled the paddock. The team decided to make the 300 mile trip to Suzuka. They came with their own livery. The weather seemed to match the mood of the paddock. None the less, in the light of Timera the team managed to qualify on the 2nd row. The team managed to keep 4th in the initial race, until a black flag stopped the race. After a pair of disqualifications, the stewards promoted the team to 3rd.

As the paddock seemed to lighten up, so did the weather. The last two races were even dry. However, after going off at the Casio whilst attempting an overtake, Tank struggled home to 8th. In the 3rd race, the GVE luck seemed to have returned. A collision at the Degner on the first lap and at the Casio on the 2nd destroyed all hopes of a good finish for the team.

All hope was fading, would the team find any financial back? Would the team ever make it to the grid with Tank? Dared they dream of the prospect of a 2 car team?

Lol ... I've started a trend I see ... :sly:

LLama Racing (LLR) announce entry into ITCC, quelling torrent of uncertainty in Mazda's paddock.

After some lengthy talks, many alterations in contract details and some sacrifices, the Mazda RX-7 have managed to find the financial support they were looking for. Team "LLama Racing" (LLR)

Nakajima Kiryu, the chairman of the team stated: "It's great to have the funding at last. They (LLR) have already supplied us with a new car for a potential recruit to use. Now we can focus on the important matters, the cars, Tank and potentially recruiting a new driver. Of course, we desire to be in the 1st division with Tank, where the money is. However, that's not decided on the backing company, it's decided based on preseason. All we can do is hope that the Team of Stewards deemed us to be worthy of entering."

"This is unbelievable, we actually found someone foolish enough to fund us. Have they not seen any of the crashes I've been involved in already?" Tank jested about the new financiers. "Either way, my focus is on the track. The main thing I'm looking at is what division I'm in. If I get Division 1, then I have to focus on being good enough to win. It's the same with Division 2, but there I need to win to get us into the higher division. I can't afford to be complacent in either Division. Either way, a lot of physical training and simulator time are both required. Even when I'm relaxing, I'm preparing to race. It's the lifestyle I chose."

Of course, Tank's seniors proceeded to lecture him straight after my interview with the driver. However, the mood around the paddock seemed more upbeat already. Who knows where this season shall take the team?

Jormo-Subaru

This weekend proved a pivotal one within the Jormo-Subaru camp.
Running the Impreza's for the first time, Nizmo was quoted in saying that the car feels solid.

"The first couple of laps in Race 3 showed us what the car is capable of. We did lose some ground in that race, but that boils down to my driving skills."

That may be the problem with Jormo-Subaru. Nizmo does not have the relevant experience compared to other drivers in field.

"Every race is a learning curve for me. I try and stay out of the faster drivers way, and that always tends to drop me a couple of places."

Dropping places or not, Nizmo has a lot to prove in the opening round in Madrid this weekend. The car has showed its capabilities as a front runner, but the driver needs to keep his head straight.

"The board of Directors has told me to pull my head out of my arse and start concentrating on getting the job done."

Mr Hasegawa, Chairman of the Board at Jormo-Subaru has expressed concern at Nizmo's tendancy to give away places so easily.

"I have no doubt that Nizmo is the man for the job at representing Subaru at this level. He just needs to take his time to get his mind right and focus on his driving skills."

Asked whether he was worried about dropping to Div 2, Nizmo had this to say, " I don't mind really. Which ever Div the Stewards decide I'm ready for, is the Div I have to fight tooth and nail for."

Let's hope Nizmo can pull a turn around at the season opener in Madrid.

No word yet as to whether Jormo-Subaru has found a number 2 driver or not.

MAFIA MOTORSPORTS
FIRST LAPS: MADRID

MAFIA Motorsports has been on the track for about an hour now. They have achieved a lap time of 1.29.943 run by cnd01. "The car felt sweet through the tight sector 2. I am still figuring out the nuances of the track, however. The chicane is a tricky one." MAFIA Motorsports is also very pleased with the tire wear they are getting."I can run 3 or 4 laps under 1.30.5 right now. Overall tire life is looking at 7 or 8 laps right now.

Team managers Tony Capone and Al Soprano are pleased with the performance of the Focus. "The car was really driving good out there. Jamie and cnd01 were turning some solid lap times," quoted Capone.

The next challenge will be shaving more time off of the lap time. Getting the right gear ratios will be key for this track.

The track is very narrow at parts. "It wouldn't surprise me to see a log jam or 2 over the course of the race weekend," says cnd01. As always MAFIA Motorsports will keep you updated on their mission for the championship.

Gotta do what you gotta do CN ... lol

That's right. I am ready to see how the divisions end up. Thank goodness I am in d1. I wouldn't get a chance to race johnny if I was in d2. He is my "rival" right now. We have a friendly rivalry though. It is clean and fun though. I hope you end up in d1 nizmo

I kinda hope so too ... but I need to prove to myself that I can be fast ... lacking a bit of confidence hey ... hopefully MrM will post the results soon ... I need a rival to boost my confidence ...

Make one. Have a great battle with another driver this week. Johnny is up on me 2-1 right now on battles. He edged me out at Tsukuba round 2. I gave 2nd to him at Suzuka 2nd, and I held his mad charge off at Suzuka 3rd.

Just been looking at the youtube channel, and have noticed that the video about team JZR has been edited?

''First, you'll see the amazing killer1midget does a very funny handbrake turn, which as i couldnt do it myself I felt stupid and so did they other stewards so we kicked him. You will then notice that his teammate taps him (jokingly) as he waits at the side of the track l. Then, at the race start, you'll notice that one driver cannot see the yellow Evo VII GSR and unfortunately does not give him room and he goes off circuit. Then, finally, in the hairpin, you'll notice that the driver of one of the green Civics loses control and hits his teammate - this is an accident.''

Maybe someone needs to review this page as someones obviously been changing it?

I should do that ... I need to change my driving style ... I been dropping too many places lately ... MrM, Prodigy and myself had a good little battle in race 3 ... until I dropped places that is ...

I gave the password as an open password for people. :grumpy: I thought "hey, it'd be cool if we all had the option to upload a portion of a race."

We just can't do that, though, because of JZR.

JZR tried to change the password. They failed. I set up the password reset link. Sorry guys, the password's going secret now.

Reclaimed. Password taken down. No more freebies.
