Was quite fun yesterday.
For the Start of Race one I acceled a bit before the "Lap-switch line". Maybe too early ??
Didn´t knew the correct accel-point => appologies for that.

I do have to get used to the passing rule but I think I made some pretty decent clean passes 👍

@K1M: I do think too TC can deserve a little contact, but when I´m on the edge of the Track on the inside and you rampage your way passed me on the inside ??
even in Real world this would get a decent big penalty !!

(Vettel and Alonso at Monza was without contact)

But I do have to admit you smacked my behind after that 👍
=> you where faster => patiency is sometimes the key ;)

@MrMel: Race 2 was some confusing from us both :D Plus I did some moves where I have to appologize for.

You guys are going at it so hard I wish i had the tapes!

I have highlighted the bits in bold that i am talking about....

Right, in race 2 i definitely ran two compounds, i started the race off on softs, then changed to mediums on my pitstop. I've watched the replay and this clearly shows this! :)

Also, i was quite far behind in race 3 as i spun, but when i did catch up i feel that i didnt do to much wrong? However, if you believe i did, i am sorry. Actually - the only one move that was dodgey was when i overtook the mini (johnnypenso) cleanly, but then ran wide into the side of CND, this was not intentional though, this was a genuine mistake!

My replay showed double softs. I checked, double checked and triple checked, let the race run etc. It kept showing you using double Softs for me. ToS?

I think there were two incidents, but I can't remember them fully. I was going by a report I sent in a PM to others. There were two, but I believe that includes the case you mentioned and one at the end of the race with Storm.

Btw, didn't mean any offence to you. However, we were removing JZR and the way previous posts seemed to indicate, it seemed like you were one of the group (like me and storm, though we never use the same car).

I thought you mentioned eariler that it wouldn't allow you to change compounds? Or was that someone else?

Your pass on me was not clean. You had no overlap on me when braking began (at least 10 feet behind), so your pass on me was not legal. You shot by me, then used Cnd as a guardrail, pushed him onto the marbles and nearly spun him. I had checked my map before the corner and you had no overlap so I didn't expect you to be there and I took the corner as I normally would, which caused me to get into Cnd as well. You cruised on by as if nothing happened. Since we're racing under GTPlanet Rules you should have made a contact concession and allowed both of us to pass you, you didn't, so that's also another rules violation.

This is open lobby kind of stuff, the kind of stuff Mel is trying to eradicate from this series and rightfully so. When stuff is unintentional as you say, most honest people move aside and allow the drivers you ran over the chance to regain their position.

NOTE: With all the stuff Midget has posted, it should be easy enough to get him banned or at least suspended from GTPlanet.

Is there a way in which i can export the video footage from my end? Because it shows exactly what i did. Running the softs then changing onto the mediums. I wouldn't have ran the same compound as i know i would be given a penalty. If theres a way it can be exported, i can use this a proof :) Im not being associated with team JZR, they are cheats and just messing about!

Must have been someone else with the tyres, i ran both compounds, i just posted a message above about this! :)

And i completely hold my hands up to that move, was completely my fault and i am sorry to you and CND for doing that. I would have allowed you both back through on the long straight as that would be the most suitable place, but i made a mistake and spun myself out on the hairpin.

My mistake, it was actually Seth that had the tire compound issue, sorry.:scared:

Our discussion about penalties and on track infractions should be moved to the Driver's Meeting thread so I'll make a post over there.

Recording on phone, export save files, etc. If it's some kind of replay error, I apologise for the double compound rule affair. Although, I don't understand why it would not show it correctly for you, yet everyone else...

By the way, when you make mistakes, post any apologies on the drivers' meeting thread to help keep in better standing throughout the series.

Updates:

-racingzack was banned from GTPlanet altogether, apparently.

-I'm going to upload another few replays I took last night. The quality's much better, and it should show what the series is about. LancerEvo7 and I had a great battle, for the win of race 3.

-Circuito de Madrid reverse coming up.

-Driver consistency could be improved. A lot of people think that their car will turn better when they're stressed out by the car behind. It doesn't quite work like that.

I can't seem to get the Google Doc with the schedule to work. The document loads but no images or script displays. I get this message:

Anyone know where the first race is?

The_Boyce was removed for poor attendance. 22 now.

The remaining drivers will be split into the two divisions. Drivers who have not yet raced with us, will be asked (if they have time) to run lap times, during the week, so that they can at least be classed with drivers who run similar lap times.

Drivers who can't run lap times during the week, will have to join Division 2.

Haha, I have made a pretty decent video to explain the JZR removal deal.

Here's how you can upload too!

Planned projects: the last two laps of Race 3; my incredible battle with LancerEvo7. I must admit, it looks like real touring car racing for those two laps.

Status: I have taken the video. I haven't invited anyone to do commentary. It will be soon. Obviously, I know who'd be willing to ramble on, so I know who I'm inviting.

Requirements: cnd, do you have a Skype for chatting? If yes, inbox/PM me.

No Skype but I might could get one.

Ummm, I'll look into my half of the Google Doc. The first points race is Madrid reverse.

cnd, the Skype's where it's at. Polar, Damu, Storm and I always chat on here.

I will ask my dad if I can get it.

Anyone got any laptimes for Madrid yet?

I could run some practice laps. Right now.

Join my lounge MrMelancholy! Anyone else feel free to join aswell :)

Im sorry i dont really have time to read every post is there anyplace to find race times ive missed 2 already :-(

I got a 1:30.7 so qualifying pace will be around 1:30.0.

I can't and won't join your lounge. I'm uploading a video to YouTube. It's slowing my i-net down. Took 3 minutes to load the GT5 News Feed. You don't want me in your lounge.

Races are always 4:30 PM EST. Profile says Pompano California? I think that's 1:30 PM Cali time.

Which state are you in?

Let me know when the video is uploaded.

I'll ask this one time. This thread fly's by pretty fast. So I feel like I've been missing out on some information. Is there like, a link for a timeline to all the official news? I feel like I've been missing out on some things.

The Drivers' Meetings thread (link in sig) will be more official.

Anyways, you're right. This week's especially busy. Everyone's getting ready for the points weekends coming.

  • Next track is Madrid Reverse
  • Lap times are around 1:30s
  • I made a highlights video from Race 3.
  • Divisions 1 and 2 are being posted shortly, once the Team of Stewards reaches an agreement
  • The Team of Stewards is discussing the points difference between Divisions 1 and 2
  • JZR team removed from series/banned
  • Jamie-Racing not associated with JZR, remains in series, apologizes for some mistakes at Tsukuba
  • No reprimands from Suzuka; Suzuka was generally clean racing
  • Jormo-Subaru officially running the Impreza WRX STi Spec C RA '05

good vid, but you didn't show me and johnny change spots 3 times after Spoon curve on the last lap.

Yeah. :( Camera only allows about 10/15 minutes per memory card fill. However, I did just delete all of the files on YouTube there, and I will go more in depth for Madrid.

I'll probably be Div II based on my driving yesterday. I tried to over drive the car and it hurt me in the worst way.

But you want to be in Division 1, correct?

If you want to be in Division 1, no one will stop you.

Also, the Division 1/2 decision is based off of what the Team of Stewards saw overall in the entire 15 race preseason tests. 3 races could just be a few mistakes. Also, the drivers who haven't run a single preseason event, and who don't run lap times during this week, to be correctly divided ( ) will be put into Division 2.

I can't comment on Division 1/2 decisions yet. I don't want to bias Polarbear345 or NizmoDR3 into a decision, because I've only gotten input from cnd01 regarding the Division decision.

At least he included my near spin in 130R when I got a wheel onto the grass...lol..:banghead:

This just in:

Reuters - Veteran race car driver Johnnypenso, without a dedicated team sponsor for the ITCC preseason schedule, has announced that he has entered negotiations with an undisclosed team for a second driver position.

"It really came out of the blue", said Johnny, "I was fully expecting to run as an independent this season, with a really limited budget. I can't disclose the details just yet but I'm sure we'll be able to put something together. It sure would be nice to run with the backing of a larger team and to be able to share race data throughout the season, so we can compete for both the overall title and the Manufacturers Title". Based on the preseason results, it's going to be a hotly contested season and I'm looking forward to the competing"

:) I like it!

Championship Honda team owner "anxious" to see how the new team fares.

Following yesterday's near win, Markus Weiss, owner of Championship Honda, is optimistically anxious. He sees the coming first round of the ITCC Championship as a stepping block towards further success in the ITCC.

"I really got a great start to Race 3. I had a mid-field starting position, following some tough racing in Race 2. The car just didn't respond well to the harder compound tires in Race 2.

However, in Race 3, I was pleasantly surprised when the car perfectly held the inside line against Lancer. Of course, holding the AWD Lancer Evolution VII behind me was a hassle on the front straight, but the soft compound tires really helped. It wasn't long before I was right behind the Prodigy, and Nizmo's new Jormo Subaru Impreza. After the beginning of the fourth lap, I was able to capitalize on the smallest of errors from the Prodigy, and took the lead. But, in doing so, I had let that Evo VII catch up, and he was in my draft.

So, I struggled around for the next two laps, on the tires, as I had really worn them more than expected when passing into the lead. By the end of lap 5, Lancer had caught me, and I knew that, when I saw him on my inside at the Casio Triangle, I had to get the run out of the corner, and use the draft. In the end, I just didn't have enough of a run, and Lancer took a well-deserved win.

"And, what about the other drivers? What do you think of their problems and successes?"

"I feel really bad for Seth. That stall on the starting grid really hurt his chances at catching the rest of the field. I'm glad he was able to get it running.

Certainly, the all-wheel-drive cars are strong. They're not unbeatable, and there are no clear favourites, but I did enjoy seeing Nizmo in the lead for such a long while in Race 3. Lancer, while winning the third race (just,) definitely seemed to be the one to beat 'al Circuito de Madrid.' If I can keep him, and any of the Jormo Subaru drivers behind me, I could try for that elusive second career win.

The Sciroccos are strong too. We knew from the beginning of testing, that the Sciroccos would be fast. But, I think that the Demolition Racing team came too late in the preseason to really have a handle on the cars beforehand. It certainly seems like the Sciroccos will be fast at Madrid, though. The telemetry obtained from Suzuka will do more than weeks of testing for the Scirocco team. They now have tangible comparisons between their own cars, and the rest of the field. Certainly, if nothing else, the Sciroccos will have much better tuning setups."

With so much speculation, and anxiety in the air, the season opener in the streets of Madrid is certainly going to be a chaotic, challenging and unpredictable race. While we await the announcement of teams from both the Hawaiian and Johnny, the biggest question of all seems to be who will take the initiative at the start of this season.

MAFIA MOTORSPORTS
STILL LOOKING FOR FIRST WIN

MAFIA Motorsports driver cnd01 came home with 2 podiums and a lot of knowledge from Suzuka. The other MAFIA Motorsports entry experieced many gremlins which are expected with every new car. This is MAFIA Motorsports driver cnd01 after the Suzuka race. "I had a very good opportunity to take home a victory there at Suzuka. I had the lead with just 3 laps to go. The RWD cars have the tire wear advantage though. I would like to thank our sponsors and the team. We really worked hard this week. Thank the Lord for giving me this opportunity to compete. Johnny and I had a really fun battle there the end of race three. He raced me clean and I tried to give him as much room as possible. I am looking forward to racing for points this week at Madrid."

As far as R&D goes. MAFIA Motorsports has arrived at Madrid and will be testing both cars. We hope to finish on the top of the podium this week.
