I don't think any cars other than The Fiat 500, and possibly the historic VWs will be allowed on karting tracks. We saw the Fiat 500 on the Italian karting course, but based on the size of the cars, I'd assume the Kubelwagen, Schwimmwagen, and Bus will be allowed on there too. Otherwise, probably just karts.

Can I add backwards racing into the mix.

That caravan racing looks a right laugh!

Ok providing the NASCAR trucks are not in, how about truck stock car racing? Hopefully many different trucks to choose from, make them all the same spec, or close enough, and then have at it on Daytona and Indy.

Blind driving challenge:

This one I used to do with friends. One person is blindfolded and drives, while his/her teammate directs them around the course. Winner is the team with the quickest time.

I already posted that idea, check previous ideas next time.

Also, I had a new idea, The 24 hours of LeMons!

EDIT: Heath beat me to it.

Another mode I've grown to love from another racing game is 'Cat and Mouse.' It takes the 'Team Pushing' up a few notches.

Each team has a slow car called a 'mouse.' The rest of the team have much faster 'cat' cars. Teams compete to get their mouse across the finish line first. Cats can attack an opposing mouse, defend their mouse, or even push/draft their mouse for a helpful speed increase. A mouse must drive as fast as they can, but also guard against attacking cats.

Because the event is still a race(for the two mice), car choice and track familiarity are important. Because of the combative nature of the game, car choice could become even more critical, along with driver skill. The team aspect also makes for interesting gameplay, as a team of great drivers can still lose due to poor communication/teamwork.

Normally, I've seen this game played with two teams of four. With GT5's capacity for double the players, either more teams or bigger teams could be used to really make this game interesting.

This cat and mouse sounds like a blast! Inter-manufacturer cat and mouse games would be alot of fun. For example:

VW cats: Audi R8 V10
VW mouse: Kubelwagen, of a Golf maybe

Toyota cats: LF-A
Toyota mouse Aygo/Echo/Yaris/Vitz

Ford cats: Ford GT
Ford mouse: Fiesta or Ka

How bout this for a wacky race. GT4 Mission 34 in the rain! That would make anyone go wacky, lol.

How about a Fugitive thing?

One or two "Robbers" in a car of his choice (obviously some restrictions like No F1 or NASCAR or WRC or Racecars)

The rest are "Cops" and must "safely" pull the Robbers over. Possible routes:

Nurburgring: Easy to box a car in, and places to perform PITs too...
London: Challenge for the robber to stay away...
etc etc

One rule... NO GOING BACKWARDS FOR THE COPS. IF the robber turns around, the Cops follow.

when gt5 arrives, im planning whenever family members or friends come to my flat they all have to post a time on the top gear test track in a reasonably priced car, the times will be put on my fridge freezer for bragging rights....should be a good laugh.

Tsukuba(or any other track) Super Lap with fully modified cars :dopey:

EDIT: But it's not a wacky race is it

Super Slow
Under 20kph race, if you go over 20kph you are dq, first one wins.

No brakes
Pretty obvious, you have no brakes, your only option is the X button.

Yes sir. I will check every single post next time next time. I shall punish myself with ten lashings.

Christ.

I was joking, calm down :)

on an oval or race track...take your pick and then go in opposite directions...like 3 one way 3 another way...can have more, the idea is to race normally but try avoid each-other coming the other way...so much of a slight scrape and you're dq.

Just a thought

Damage contest- take a race car and smash into others on Daytona or Indy and last man standing wins!

What a wacky thread :dopey:

A race between the carraiges up the starting line hill at the nordschliefe. First one there wins.

How about a top gear style mileage test, pick a variety of odd cars and tune for mileage and no pit stops.
This might be better suited for B-spec Bob, if it possible to completely hold off on pitstops, which I kind of doubt.
kaz has said manufacturers dont want their cars damaged to the point where they stop running.

For go-karts, wont they fly off the kerbs? By the way, my idea of fun: Fully modded Dodge Viper + Snow on track + Snow from the sky + Nurburgring = Complete hell? For a start, no TCS will prevent the Viper from skidding around, due to its' wheelspin.

Almost sounds like a 1st gear only challenge. Would have to have pretty strict guidelines though, e.g., same car tuned the same way with the same driver aid settings to prevent a significant speed speed difference at redline.

If i seen right i believe we will have World War vehicles or type of war vehicles.(can't remember exactly off the top of my head.

I think it would be neat and a challenge to drive these on Nurburgring.

Let's take the Daimler around the Nur at night. It would probably be daytime by the time anyone finishes:sly::sly::sly:.

Passenger Challenge- each car is fitted with as much people as the car can hold and go crash into things. The one with the most live people in the car at the end wins.:scared:

Let's keep this within reason. Want some good suggestions that we can actually follow through on.
