Finally a Wangan series! I meant to post yesterday but I was busy and couldn't.

Now I need to read a little more of this series to know what people are saying and all that.

I'll throw in some ideas myself.
Add SSR5 and Tokyo R246. Why not?
Also, I'm not sure how this all works at the moment but I had read the OP. Have it styled like the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series. Let them race around untill one of them feels defeated or if the leading car is x amount car spaces ahead for x amount of seconds. Though with using your highbeams is a problem with standard cars, so I guess they use their horn?

I did Wangan races with my older step-brother when I first got the game. Then drag racing took over and it got boring. So now i can finally race with others! :)
I drive:
Nissan R32 (P)
Nissan R33 (P)
Acura NSX (P)

^ I'm not sure about the deatials about them but they're all fully tuned and the R32 and R33 were tuned to the max. The NSX I got 2 days ago.

Good idea on the flashing the headlights I don't know how I forgot about that! but I know how you feel about the drag racing I've been in plenty rooms that start of like wangan but end up being a drag racing room, very annoying. But I will be hosting a room tonight from 8pm est US just add me and join up.
 
Now if I can just get on for a bit. I may not be able to get on tonight. It's strangely busy today, but I'll see what I can do. Can't wait to get back to Wangan!

There are plenty of cars on the Wangan that have 700+ horsepower..I think when you have to many classes it becomes to structured..one thing about the Wangan is that you never really know what is really out there until you race. But there will be days like nissan day, honda day, toyota day etc. And the same goes for hp.

Yes, but keep in mind, that in real life the cars are somewhat limited by traffic and driver's fear. Most of time it's not possible to unleash full power, and skill is the most important factor - you have to avoid other cars, stay on the line and perfectly know where to flat out, so it's possible to beat 800bhp monster using 400bhp oldie. And it's a private car, so you are scared of destroying it, after all... In Gran Turismo you can forget about all of that, so it becomes just a simple dragfest where power is the only thing that matters - that's why I think there should be some kind of limitations.

This looks fun! Nice idea guys... If you ever need traffic, how about have some people drive SUVs and Pick ups? :D I'd cruise along just for the heck of it.
 
Now that's a good idea! Would love to try a race like that, sounds fun :D
Could be hard to manage everything, and people cruising would have to follow few very strict rules though - like stay on the right lane (too bad there's no turn signals in GT5...), don't go faster than, say, 140kph, etc.
 
I'll also volunteer to be traffic when I'm not racing.
 
Im glad to see this is picking up speed (pun intended :lol:) but yes there will be a cruise tonight at 8pm US est not a meet. I want to see how many people or going to be coming before I hold a meet. Add my psn: Prolific352 in order to join in off of my name..is there a way to make rooms private?

Can't make it, that's like 3am in my timezone. Any chances for EU events in the future?

Of course we'll have events for the Uk..maybe if you show up to enough events you can be sort of like an Ambassador for it.
 
That'll be about 1am here in UK, Will try my best to make it, As I'd really like to see something like this work.
 
Come to think of it, the EU timezone takes the realism to a whole new level :D

Wow this is getting people from alot of various countries. Oh no i haven't even prepared a car yet! I did circuit racing with them so now I have to put them to their wangan settings.
 
If everyone on here adds me it would be a lot easier to organize the events..there wont be one tonight tho, because i'm going to my friends house to help with a engine swap later. But add me so we can all hit the wangan. 👍

Actually scratch that plans for the engine swap...I'll be on in a little bit and the meet will start at 8pm.

Is/should there be any minimum weight limit?

I personally like the idea of letting people weight reduce the cars as much as possible, but i also realize that many people like having a minimum weight.

But setting it too high will preclude certain cars (CRX, MR2 are two that come to mind) from competing based on being too light.

Prolific, what do you think?
 
Actually, I think PP supported by production year is fine - it's quite fair I'd say.
