I have an idea. This Saturday would you guys like to play War Thunder tanks? I mean all of you. Not just one or two guys. I have Tier 3 Russians, low Tier 3 Germans, and Tier 2 U.S.

Tiger for the win.

Started playing Ground Forces recently and still have to get the hang of it... But I'm working towards the Tiger as quickly as I can :D

Anything I use gets one-shoted, anyway, and I have no idea how my opponents manage to snipe me out at ~800m range. I can blast an opposing tank directly into its side or whatever's supposed to be its weak spot and get nothing.

If my tank gets hit on the frontal armour plate, though, it explodes. Instantly. Don't understand how that works, at all...

It depends on your ammo type and where you hit. APHEBC has less penetration values, but could kill in one shot compared to APCR (I have no clue on HEAT though).

As for frontal plates, it could be the transmission. That sets the vehicle on fire and in rare cases would burn instantly. And remember that the shell has fragments that could go anywhere in the tank. So what could've happened is that you're front plate was penetrated with a APHEBC round and the fragments went into your ammo rack, causing instant death.

Then again, I'm only level 13 in WT. So I might have no idea what I'm talking about.

I didn't know... Which line to start with.. So I was like meh. Panther it is  I'm working on the tiger line to now.

Me: I'm doing great with the 6/2 in this sim bonus event, but I think I'll give the BF 110 C-4 a try.... take off and look for enemy tank. Find one but miss.. oh well, I still have 20mm cannons set for ground targets, so I'll try to find targets to shoot. *clunk* I'm guessing my wing just got shot off because I'm falling to the left. Must have been cannon from a Russian fighter...

Killed by friendly 6/2. :irked:

I wasn't even flying that high... I guess the balkenkreuz and the red star are the same design and the guy got them confused, but how that's possible is beyond me.

Makes me think.. How SOMEHOW... I got in a pileup with 4 teammates.. and 1 enemy.. Its like we all hugged each other.. But ended we all died :I

What happened after me getting shot down was great though. The guy felt bad about it, but the entire team schooled him on the difference between the C-4 and the Peshka Pe-3.

Also, first sim match I played today, it was near the end, I had been driving to the capture point as our team was closing in on it. I get into the circle and stop and get slammed into by a jagdpanzer. I was completely unaware he was tailing me to the capture point. Unfortunate teamkill on that one as my sudden stop and getting run into wiped out the guys on the back of my 6/2. I laughed at that one.

I guess it happens because the entire crew gets killed by an explosive AP round, the same happens when a T-34 gets hit in the driver hatch (resulting in one-shot in ~90% cases). Both driver and the radioman are there, and the turret is close, too. Plus, German tanks usually have some ammo located nearby.

To have the best chance of one-shotting an enemy in the side, try aiming beneath the turret (most tanks have an ammo rack somewhere close) or into the rear section of the turret (if the turret sides are weak enough).
