As important of an investment is buying a car, more important is a reliable warranty that covers you for years or miles. Hyundai has that 10 yr/100K warranty on their cars, I believe. I don't know if Chrysler and company still has that transferable limited warranty or not. Certainly in America, we have financing programs to cater for almost every financial situation. Whether you're buying or leasing a car, you'll need a financial plan to cover you for years or miles. GTPlanet, let's talk about warranties and special financial programs for cars. And not just in America, I want to know how warranties and programs go outside of America and Canada. So, let's do this.

Just powertrain - and they can get away with it because they make their engines cheap. Not a shot at them or Kia - they make cheap engines so they can pack their cars full of features; they're all good buys. But in the end, that warranty works out for both Hyundai/Kia and the buyer - in the unlikely event that something major does go wrong with the engine, it shouldn't cost Hyundai/Kia too much for the warranty work since the engine isn't expensive. Consequently, Hyundai/Kia doesn't lose money and the buyer will (hopefully) remain brand-loyal.

Hyundai, Kia, and Mitsubishi have the longest powertrain warranties: 10yr./100,000 mi. Hyundai and Kia also have the longest basic warranties at 5yr./60,000mi. (perhaps contrary to my thinking above), though Infiniti's is notable at 4yr./60,000mi. Corrosion warranties these days are generally un-necessary and consequently longer than hell; Volkswagen and Audi have the longest ones at 12yr./unlimited mi. And of course, roadside assistance champions Mercedes gives us a reason to buy new: all new Mercedes vehicles come with unlimited roadside assistance. Yes, that's unlimited mileage, unlimited time - it's probably non-transferrable, but you know there are going to be people who still have their 2004 E320 in 2034.
