No not a dirt track or anything like that, but a series of time attack sessions that you must complete. Let's say 3 laps around every circuit, and then the player with the lowest total time will be #1.
So let's you enter the event. You go to the first track and do your 3 laps, then the game automatically loads up the next course, and you do another 3 laps. Throughout all of this you can't exit or you will lose all your times. You can't practice, or change any settings in the middle of this rally. After you're done with the whole event, all your laps times from every track are tallied up and your total time is posted on the leader board. Lowest times on top.
