The new TT is great, an excellent lesson in carrying speed and momentum. The car is surprisingly capable of spinning given the low power and also quite rear happy on the brake balance. So this is not a matter of chucking it around like the Hyundai at NGP last week. This is a good TT for anyone new to the game to learn basic principles.

Managed a 49.9, I will find a 49.5 to be safe i reakon.

Got her down to a 49.3, optimal 49 flat, that's enough I think, take my money and run.

I will take the Nürburgring GP layout chicane anyday over to this last corner..... 🤣🤣 this is going to be a whole week of last corner frustration ....

As I also enjoy this combo but still be several seconds away may I ask you to publish your sector times? If you would share your ghost I would appreciate it a lot as we are usually not that far away (= me behind you). By the way, great lap time, mate!
I did it. Tiny improvement only but improved my optimum quite a bit. Likelihood of me coming back for that 15 has increased again.

I shared the replay with the tags gtplanet, gtptt and gorefast.

My sector splits are as follows:
1) 21.592 (my PB is in the .4s but I generally suck hard at T1)
2) 1.09.000 on the money (I think this sector was really good but not totally sure about the Cutting)
3) 1:43.938 (lost time through the dipper and Forest's Elbow is always hard but this one was ok, I had better exits though)
1000019059.webp

1000019058.webp

4) final time of 2:16.250 (completely butchering the Chase losing about 3 to 4 tenths there)
1000019060.webp

My little cheat code is to use a top replay and set ghost settings to 0.0 offset. This way I can learn to perfectly mimic their breaking inputs which is especially crucial at this track with all the trail breaking.

Personally I use Calster whenever possible because he's on a pad like me.

My days being fast are over lol.. My best attempt on Panorama.. X throttle [] brake L1 R1 shifting

Your lap is pretty solid and gold time on X and square is good achievement.
May I ask what is the reason you don't invest some hours to switch to L2/R2 to give you a bit more control of let's say keeping a brake on 50% when needed, as example?

thanks man.. because I'm not controller player and im kinda old so this is only way I know how to play on pad.. i just bought gt7 not long ago and before that I used to be fast wheel driver.. so plan is to get wheel again to make long stort short lol.. hopefully around Christmas:) i just need to be good to my wife :)

edit.. also my first try for new TT.. this will be far from gold but not bad i think for few laps

Finally a car that is not glued to the floor and understeer forever. Got to love a Miata....ooh wait....I do have one :D

Anyway, I might actually try to get into the 47s.

THat is hustling, damn. I do like my avg powered cars, my 105 Giulia or a Miata. In the end I settled on a 997 because the roads here are DEAD STRAIGHT so wanted more of a kick in the pants but eyeing off an FRS/BRZ for the boy when he turns 17 to get my lower powered kicks.

I usually don't spend a lot of time on TTs, because my old hands can't take it, but I ran about 15 laps in the Miata, and managed to run a 1:50.1, with an optimum of 1:49.5. I'm rarely fast enough to get gold on most of these TTs, so pretty happy with this one.

Need to try to get a 49 though. Don't think my current two tenths cushion is going to keep me in the gold.

Not glued the floor is an understatement. I wasn't expecting this. Did they mix up SH's and CH's? Why do Mustangs get all the "leaving a car gathering" Youtube vids?
I'm thinking the extra 250HP and 200 torques on a measly 9 inch rim will do the trick ;)

Watching @Evilmuffin , I am surprised you pull and use 4th on a few turns, I sort of hit the top of 3rd then lift but you're faster than me so who am I to argue.

Those 2 4th gear turns are absolute "code brown" inducing turns. Sometime I just prayed I would make the corner or the next one....and sometimes...well.....I don't 🤣

The car did feel quite loose in the beginning but I was able to get a hold of things and pull this lap out of the bag. It's pretty strong for a first effort. This little nugget of a car is excellent and by far the best MX-5 variant ever built. I get the feeling that it's a swansong for the ND chassis, which has been around for 10 years.

Congrats and a big thanks! Maybe you are also too fast for me... 😉 Very well done! 💪

This..

It's code brown sliding all the way, the first tunnel entry has been painted in Miata colors A LOT already
And i don't know what gearing i should be in, T1 .... 2nd or third... doesn't feel much different tbh..
2-3-4-5 .... on my fastest lap i went to third on T4 but i believe all stay in 4th....
T10 I went to 2nd for rotation but maby staying 3th gives more stability?....
T14....first or second? 🤣🤣

Lots to learn here 🤣

Got myself fairly quickly into the 47' but this isn't going to be easy 🤣

1000040705.webp

But I can understand you owning one!
Very fun to yeeet around!

Honestly it’s more than doable to manage the gearing using AT I went and did a lap to see if a reasonable gold was doable with AT and it more than is.
Where did I say that gold was not achievable in AT ??? In fact I got gold yesterday.

What I say is only "I don't use MT so I can't apply your advice to choose the gear my car is".

And I was just showing that you can pseudo manage the gearing in AT I just happened to do it because I wanted to see if I could do a gold time using AT.

So the advice was to try and exit a few of the corners in 3rd and it’s doable with AT as demonstrated.

It wasn’t a pop at you it was just show it being done and it was fun for me to try it because I haven’t driven properly in AT for several years.
