There does seem to be a phenomenal misunderstanding on the part of the GT drivers, admittedly I was much obliged while I was chasing Plux but;

It is in no way your responsibility to move over for LMP cars. We have to work around you, you don't have to get out of the way of us

Other then that I thought it was a pretty good race with a good few scraps here and there. Looking forward to the next one =)

If you guys have finished that means I quit early for no reason. Damn. -_-

I may have been off the pace today but good racing guys 👍

Very well done to everyone that attended, was such a good race and a great experience with LMP and GTE on track at once, congratulations to Plux and chozza for the wins

Bentley is way fast. Just did some testing and could do mid-high 1:02s on Softs. Other lmps are left in the dust, at least @deep forest.

Well Seth, I was running the Bentley and from the racing tonight it was no faster than the BMW... And more to the point - I'm driving it so it doesn't make a blind bit of difference what you can do in it! Stop driving everyone else's cars and make your car better!

Congrats to everyone else on a great fun race - it has made my week far far better!

💡 here's a thought
I'm not in this series anymore, so I don't have "a car". If you're about as quick as the BMW at these specs that's cool. I wasn't talking about your speed, I was making a point that the Bentley is definitely the fastest car in LMP. So that should be the benchmark for specs of other LMP's.

However, from what happened last night the racing was balanced anyway apart from the Pug was lacking accleration out of turn 1. This is being rectified...

Please take any augments or unnecessary posts to PM please, this thread is just for talking about the racing.... If you have any issues then PM either myself, jonnyb or dave will try and resolve the issue.

Anyways, how many laps is Monza?

We will know this later in the week, pending some issues sorted first, bare with us,

👍 agreed,

great event guys, glad to see most of it went off without issues other then driver issues that only affected themselves,

The OP has been updated with penalties, warnings and points,

Some notes and further points to take with you to Monza,

1) Cars are being altered over the next week, They may get more power, more weight, less weight power reduction etc,

2) Memto89 Is now the Steward of LMP and Johnnyb is now the steward of GTE, I will remain the head steward, If you have an issue with a driver from either category take it up via PM with the rquired steward, they will help you,

3) Anything written on the thread that bring the thread into disrepute will incur a penalty ranging from a time penalty in the next race to exclusion from further participation in this series, (I'm not here to argue, I'm not here to watch argueing, And I'm not here to moderate argueing, I'm to race and enjoy it) Any issues with any other drivers take it to them personally via PM, or PM us, (the stewards) we will resolve this issue,

4) It is up to the LMP driver to find a way around the GTE driver, As the GTE driver, do not panic or move over, unless you make your actions clear prior to the corner, You will not be penalized for holding up the LMP car, BUT the LMP car can and will be penalized for causing collisions or anything that results in the GTE car losing time, See OP for further details, (The more predictable you are, the cleaner we can get passed) 👍

5) Tires are now racing soft only, other then intermediate and wets where required,

6) Prior to qualifying at Monza we will conduct a proper drivers meeting to highlight any of the issues available and make sure all rules are understood by everyone, we are going to set aside time for this, so don't panic,

7) A big 👍 to ANFD, I have seen the replay of you in the middle of the LMP battle, you did fantastic,

8) There is a section at the bottom of the OP in which you can see all modifications to car spec's,

9) lets look forward to Monza, 2 weeks away,

Any further queries, just ask 👍 well done to all who participated,

So lets get some feedback from the drivers, How was the race? Was it well organised and everything clear? anything you want to add?

From a personal point of view, awful as I was way off the pace. But Looking at the overall running of it, it was fine. Rules were made clear and everyone seemed to be racing clean. 👍

I really like endurance racing and all that it entails. Some 33 years ago, I was on an Endurance Racing Team that won two championships. I like the idea of different classes of cars with different closing speeds requiring a different mind set and different tactics. It is more of a challenge for everyone and consequently, more fun. I was very impressed by the overall courtesy shown by everyone. All the LMP cars made clean passes on me especially when I saw them coming from the rear view and just held my line or gave them the line if it was opportune for me to do so. That's exactly the way it should be :)

It would have been a bit more fun if there had been maybe a few more entries and hopefully there will be for next race.

Also, I was under the impression that track entry would be staged in advancing sequence with the settings changed each time to ensure all cars met the specific HP and weight requirements. The indicated method of monitoring specs based solely on lap times as the indicator is not by any means "fool-proof" :) Just providing input as I see it :)

Overall, it was the most fun I've had in quite some time :)

chin up mate, Monza is up next, get a practice in 👍 if I hadn't have had the pit incident we probably would have battled through the end,

We are giving people the benefit of the doubt here, we know what should be the outright lap time to within .300, any faster and we will start enquiring,

But I'm willing to do it correctly to ensure no doubt and satisfaction,

That was the problem, I had hardly any time to get any practice in. So I really didn't know how far I could push the car or what sort of times I should have been aiming for. The fact I wasn't able to take part in any of the practice sessions didn't help either! Monza should be better.

First of all thank you guys for the feed back, its really encouraging to see people getting involved with the championship

Im glad that everything was clear, if you want some help with balancing then we shall try and get a testing session together so that we can balance all the cars

You are a top level driver mate, and its this type of driving that we really need in this championship.. we are hoping to get more people on track with better organisation and clearer dates and times, thank you for your great feedback and please keep it coming

Please allow me to clarify .... I was an engineer on the team and never got to drive :) Maybe that's why I'm having so much fun in retirement now because I finally do get to drive :sly:

I meant in the series we are running ;) i have alot of respect for GTE drivers as they have a harder job than LMP drivers as they have to fight and look out for the LMP as well

It will be easier to do this at Monza,

It will be easier to do this at Monza,

Sooo much easier at Monza, hopefully no more being held up into the last corner when fighting for the lead (grumble grumble grumble)

No I jest completely, it was great driving by ANFD to hold his line despite our fight as I knew exactly when the point of no return was and decided to hold back as my strategy was working out better than Memto's...

Agreed, Though I expect nothing less from ANFD, teriffic driver,

Also, A reminder to all, If you do not notify us of your attendance for the next race, or comment on the thread and you are signed up, I will be removing your entry,

I am expecting around 5 1 off/ part time drivers to attend events throughout the remainder off the season,

Also a big welcom to I-was-ere, the newest driver taking the fairlady Z,

After reading all the glowing accolades, I had to watch the replay myself just to see what all the fuss was about :) All I saw was myself doing my best to stay out of harms way while lots of faster drivers navigated skillfully around me. I think most of the credit belongs to the LMP drivers who showed the required patience and race craft to make passes that justified the risk:reward ratio. I was much more impressed by their driving than my own :)

I was also more able to appreciate the great battle between myself and DolphinDiamond shortly after our first pit stop. We battled nose to tail for at least 2 laps, cornered side by side through at least a couple corners and definitely brought my heart rate up after a rather boring first stint :)

Looking forward to more of the same with maybe a few others at Monza :)

Next race on 27th so not to clash with my event

EDIT: Just noticed the reg changes. I'm surprised you changed both the Pug and the Bentley. I thought the problem was the Pug was suffering under acceleration rather than the Bentley's overall speed. I'm not complaining, I'm just interested in how you came to the decision (I believe that to be within my right to ask?)

Lol that is all fine mate, it's because the Bentley has alot of natural pace and you are more than competent driver

Cool man... I think the Bentley will be fine at Monza... Just got to get the DF down and be comfortable
