Next race on 27th so not to clash with my event

EDIT: Just noticed the reg changes. I'm surprised you changed both the Pug and the Bentley. I thought the problem was the Pug was suffering under acceleration rather than the Bentley's overall speed. I'm not complaining, I'm just interested in how you came to the decision (I believe that to be within my right to ask?)

Yes. seems your Bentley is just well rounded, I didn't think 10kg would be much, Just enough to slow it down out of the corners, the Pug dropped 10kg to assist it, should be much more even then throwing 20kg at you and not touching the Pug,

What sort of times should I be looking at getting around monza then?

I was wondering too. In both classes

I haven't jumped on circuit at these reg's yet with my LMP, But GTE would be around the 1.45s I believe,

Ours are slightly different, But I couldn't imagine more then a second,

The only thing that surprised me about it was that Memto said he was struggling against both me and jonny that were out pacing him out of corners... It was just a note, nothing more

We are addressing that as well but the thing is the BMW is not as comfortable to drive as the Bentley is

Yes..... John's BMW...... I think it may need so added fat too,

After reading this I immediately went to test. I ran consistant low 1:50's and was obviously a bit discouraged.

Then I noticed in the OP that the R8 was allowed a 20HP upgrade for Monza and breathed a sigh of relief. After adjusting the HP up I set back out to test. Funny, the car didn't seem much faster than it was at 443HP. I kept running the same low 1:50's until I was finally able to click off a 1:49.896. Now I was more than a bit discouraged and quite confused. I checked my top speed going into parabolica and then again at the end of the main straight just at the brake point. Then adjusted the HP back down from 463 to 443 and checked the top speed numbers again. To my surprise, adding the 20HP gained a net increase of 1 mph at the end of both straights. Running full damage, I'm inclined to use as much down force as I can to keep the car under control. Even so, I would expect a larger effect from adding 20HP but it's not the case with the Audi.

I think I'm doing around 1:50s too ANFD. Did a few laps yesterday but can't remember . I'll do a few laps in 1.5-2 hours when I get on.

I just realized something :dunce:

When I signed on to this series I mentioned to TDZdave that because of our annual extended camping trip (4 weeks this year instead of the usual 6 to 8) that I would have to miss the last 2 races. I just now realized that because this is a bi-weekly series, it will actually run all the way to August and in fact, the two races I will miss are Fuji and Cape Ring South.

Not critical information, but just wanted to give TDZdave a heads up :)

Running full damage, I'm inclined to use as much down force as I can to keep the car under control.

Damn, I'm getting old :nervous: That's the second time I've confused the GT300 Endurance Series with this one. They both run back to back on the same days on the same bi-weekly schedule. I even spent an afternoon recently testing the wrong car on the wrong track after getting the two series confused with each other. Maybe you should just disregard any future babble I put forth :dopey:

 ANFD.

I won't be able to make the next 2 races due to work. If someone wants to join this series, let them have my car. I'll even give them my tune if they need one!

Just realised the Grand Am series I'm in only has 3 races left, so I should only be at the risk of not finishing one more race in this series. So you may as well have me down for full time now.

The GTE lap times I did were in the Ford GT, at different spec's, or be it slightly, Just more thump in a straight line,

The issue with the audi is for some reason, even in real life it lacks straight line speed, I noticed this in the Bathurst 12 hour, The Audi got a wicked run through forrest elbow into Conrod straight, had the draft and was looking very handy for an overtake, Then the SLS plucked the next gear and drove away extremely casually, The Audi could do nothing, Something replicated quite well in the game, The sacrifice is its incredible handling package, I already knew it was going to be the fish out of water in a straight line on the game, hence the 20hp increase, all other increases will happen in units of 10, bhp or kg,

But 1 mile an hour on the straight? with 20 bhp more, wow that's a bit.... crust! If you haven't already add the stage 3 engine and high output turbo, and please relay us your results,

 ANFD.

Ok mate, will do,

Aren't you in TOCA as well?

Ok mate, will do,

Aren't you in TOCA as well?

Yeah, but with that I can only see myself missing the opportunity to spend time in the lobby practicing with you guys, and possibly missing some of qualifying. That shouldn't be a problem though considering I've got two weeks to get a decent amount of practice in.

Yeah that's fine mate, But I get the impression from Furi that races still may bleed over the time slot, If you shoot Myself or Memto via PSN before the start of race 3 remembering the elapsed time of race 2 we maybe able to wait a moment or 2 extra for you to join, if you miss qually you can always start from the rear,

But 1 mile an hour on the straight? with 20 bhp more, wow that's a bit.... crust! If you haven't already add the stage 3 engine and high output turbo, and please relay us your results,

The OP says that turbos and superchargers are not allowed :)

Everything you said about the lack of top end in real life with the Audio is absolutely valid. Maybe it has a larger than normal frontal area and additional drag. At some point, you need an exponential increase in power for a minuscule increase in speed when it comes to over-coming drag. Wind tunnel tests we did with a top fuel dragster motorcycle that ran 199mph (quarter mile) showed that we needed a 20% increase in power to get the thing over 200mph (+1mph) which was our ultimate goal :)

I'll try tuning as you suggest and report back 👍

Here's the dealio :) Audi R8 LMS Playstation / Monza / RS tires / ABS only

1) Original spec - 443HP - 1:50.2xx

2) Adjusted to 463HP - 1:49.896 (+1 mph over original)

3) Added Stage 3 Engine Tune - 463HP - 1:48.615 (same top speed as #2)

4) Added Stage 3 Turbo - 463HP - 1:48.348 (+1 mph over #3 and + 2 mph over original)

The biggest difference adding the Stage 3 Engine Tune was how the engine reacts to the rev-limiter. In original tune state, the engine literally falls flat on it's face as soon as you touch the red line area (almost as if the car suddenly slows). After adding the Stage 3 Engine Tune the engine pulls slightly as it enters the red line area and doesn't slow. It doesn't really continue to accelerate, but it holds the attained speed. Adding the Stage 3 Turbo helped lap time a bit and top end and didn't feel any different than without it.

Darn good question, will post tomorrow once I calculate the laps to lap times, haven't actually run any in the LMP at Monza,

For a possible point of reference in GTE .... I did approximately 16 laps in an hour in the Audi R8 LMS ..... 1:51.000 avg lap (estimate).

Answer is LMP lap time seems to hover around the low 1.37s, yet to confirm this in another car. I'll hop in a GTE in two secs and see what that can do

1.37s are the same for me too mate, going to calculate the lap count and post a driver's briefing specific to Monza and edit the OP shortly,

Welcome to the World Endurance Championship, Taking sign ups, All set to start April 13th

If you are not sure if you have recieved a penalty or warning from an event, They will be published at the bottom of the OP, they will be published by Monday evening after the race, If we have yet to come to a decision it will be published as TBD,
Corner Cutting Two wheels must remain on the black stuff at all times, (or kerbing) If it is deemed by us that you have been cutting corners you will be served a penalty pending how much it cut or how many times,

ROUND 2, MONZA
DRIVERS BRIEFING

THIS MUST BE SEEN BY ALL DRIVERS!

Normally we wouldn't and shouldn't need to do this but Monza is such an extreme place with high speeds that we felt that some extra information was needed to be implimented for this event, otherwise we some parts of this will be used to relay you guy's standard information on the up coming round,

1) Referring to the OP, If your name is highlighted on the list and you do not comment on thread notifying us of your attendance you will be removed from the OP, we have had several tests and 1 event, some of you have turned up to the test, and not been to the race, while others have signed up and not attended at all, we can get full fields guys, don't waste our time,

2) New driver's or one off driver's will be required to use initial spec's, the spec update list is based on the driver's capabilities not the car, we know what the cars can do,

3) Remeber the field does not get cleansed after qualifying, you will remain in your exact qualifying position, ( don't think it will matter at Monza)

Track information

Circuit) Autodromo Nazionale Monza/ Change weather,
Laps) 40+1 Pace (41 total)
Settings) Weather 25%, Weather changability 2, Surface water 0%

Monza Specific rules)

1) GTE Cars, This needs to be stressed, It is not up to you to let the LMP car through, It is up to the LMP car to get past you, It is up to your discretion to allow an LMP car past but make sure you make you make your intentions clear to the LMP driver, This can be done by,
+) Moving over early,
+) vocally on a head set,
+) Slowing down,
Monza only! (This isn't a requirement of racing her!)+) At Monza only, If you are worried about the LMP drivier driving through you in a chicane then us, "The stewards" will allow you to cut the chicane, Provided=
The following LMP driver is clear on your intentions,
You come to almost a complete stop as to not gain advantage on other GTE cars,
However, as said above, it is up to the LMP driver to get past you and not impede you by doing so, Please trust our judgements, and any incident that does happen we will adjudicate penalties as we see fit,

The Two wheels on track rule, is exempt from the Ascari corners, as if you run into the dirt at part 2 and 3 that will hinder you, however,
Ascari entry, you are allowed to cut but if you kick up grass multiple times you will be penalized accordingly, (this is in play for the rest of the course)

Changes to start procedure,
I am making changes to the starting procedure as of the replay's I have viewed on my profile and of youtube of rolling start event's that being on the front row is almost a hinderance so the following procedure will be used from Monza thoughout the season,
+) Cars will roll at pace speed around the circuit as usual, (Changes)
+) The leaders will slow pace to bunch the field up prior to the final turn of the warm up lap,
+) once the field is bunched the leaders will proceed through the final turn onto the front straight,
+) When the 2 lead cars are on the painted grid lines it is up to the pole winner to start the race, They can start the race from any point on the painted grid lines to the start line,
+) If they cross the start line and haven't gone then the race is green, their loss,

I'n summary, the pole winner dictactes the pace lap, at pace speed, They have to ensure the field is bunched up, (near as makes no difference as some drivers will tail back to ensure their own safety in turn 1, once the leader gets to the painted grid slots its their choice to go, if they get to the start line and haven't gone then the race will also go green,
(Bare in mind that these may change race to race, so suit the track we are racing on, these will be released in the driver's briefing one week out from the event,)

Any queries just ask 👍

Any queries just ask myself, Memto or Johnny, 👍

Just ensuring that everyone see's the changes,

Good job Dave. Nicely put. 👍
I should be here for the race. It's the only one I have this weekend. :)

Dave,
I am going to be practicing in the Pescarolo C60 GV5 04 and the C60 Hybride besides the Viper this week. I might move up to LMP's. The only reason I put the C60 Hybride down, is incase the guy driving it doesn't show for the race.
