TY TM.

I did try the denso this morning, and just to complicate things it was .4 seconds faster, so now I have my new quick lap in the denso !!!

.4 is a lot of time really, Im not sure if it was the car or if I just managed to get a good lap, it looked good but its always difficult to put your finger on why you are faster.

I think I'll fair well in Div 2 this week, I'll put my neck on the line again and go for a podium finish (I hope!)
My times were faster in the Denso too.

suprisingly my denso times were almost a second faster then my Castrol times. it just feels like the denso corners alot tighter at speeds then the Castrol.

No time from me this week. As the title says: Got no time!

Was planning to do some laps this weekend, but I had the opportunity to go to the ATP tennis tournament in Rotterdam, so the choice to skip this race was easily made 💡 (I love tennis, and I don't like this slide combo :yuck: )

Good luck to all and I'll be back next week 👍

I still don't know what car works bets for me :indiff:
I have done 20 or so laps with the Denso Supra, and got a certain time that took me a while and some effort to get...
Then I hopped in the Castrol Supra, and I was consistantly lapping close to that time, and then got one lap 0.700 faster
Unluckily I put more than two tires off the track for a fraction of a second, and that ruined it...

So I hopped again in the Denso Supra, and I could not get any better than the time I already had with it - while, on the other hand, with the Castrol Supra I could flucutate constantly anywhere from 0.200 seconds above and below that lap time...

Maybe, I should just drop my prejudice against the Castrol Supra and drop the Denso Supra for this week... It seems that the Castrol is more forgiving, at least for me - namely, even if it can't take the corners as fast as the Denso, it makes up for that difference in the handful of straights and in acceleration...

We'll see what unfolds later :D

Made another run today and finally reached my goal in the Denso, but the Castrol is right behind with a best lap of only .1 slower. Now it's just a matter of seeing how much I can shave off :).

I knew my Denso Supra was not going to betray me :D

I just got a clean lap time 0.400 faster than the dirty one in the Castrol Supra, and therefore about 1.100 seconds faster than my overall best with the Denso Supra.

I think this time is a keeper :sly:
I might try to improve it either tonight or tomorrow night, before submission - time permitting.

I know I could still shave a few 0.100's here and there, but I am not sure I will be able to string it all together like in this one lap that I just did...

I'm not sure that shaving will make you go any quicker... :D but hell, give it a bash!

What are you talking about?! The less hair you have on your face, the more aerodynamic you get :D :sly:
Also, you weigh less, which in turn makes you even faster ;)
On a 1'40 odd seconds lap, it adds up pretty quickly...

Every little bit helps ;).

Time submitted, a frusterating week for me.. :irked: with tests finals and job interviews all over the place, I only had time to get in about 15 laps in each car.. Ill be really very surprised if im not more than 3/4 of a second off the pace. :yuck:

GT4 will solve all my problems though!

This is very much like my old school reports; "These are pleasing reports but could do better if he was prepared to concentrate more in class" :dopey:

ah don't worry, that's what they all say :P

this is an interesting race. not that i'm anywhere near as good as the rest of you guys, but i find i can do better times if i throw the car into some corners too fast and drift it (notably the hairpins and the left handers into the tunnels), is that normal?

i can't decide which car is better, i'm all over the place for a few laps until i get used to the other car again, then i can control it and do good laps. the castrol seems slower, then i find i'm beating my denso splits by 0.2-0.5 and i'm like wow! i do my best laps in the first few attempts, walk away, come back and do another best. this is my first weekly race series, it's only taken me 2 years :p

Time submitted (Denso), after 13 practice laps.
I don't expect any good ranking. :ouch:

i really need to get another .15, ive been so close. gonna give it a good run tonight in both cars to see what happens.

Hugo Boss, too bad you cant make it this week, there are some very talented drivers floating around, A win this week would mean more than most, based on the drivers competiting.

Im aiming for a top 10 finish.

finally beat my DS2 time by .3 sec hopefully its enough to give me a good solid placement my first week doing the series

I just tried to run another session. It looks like I am pretty consistant anywhere from Start to T3 - namely, I get within +/- 0.100 of my best splits - but it looks like the last tunnel and the 'S' right after it make the difference between a good lap and an average lap... It seems I haven't been able to find a good line for the 'S' yet :indiff:

I wish I knew what I am doing wrong from T3 to finish... :(
Just out of curiosity - what speed are you guys getting with the Denso Supra right when you cross the finish line?

And what data (as far as speed - average, entrance, exit - no times) do you have for the last tunnel and for the 'S' sections?

The Wizard.

Well, i've managed to match my best lap a few times. At least I know it wasen't a fluke lap. I pretty much screwed myself when i nailed the second half of the track before the first one. In that very moment those two tenths were lost. The problem was I had done it before, so i had a specific time I was looking for. I would run T1 over and over seeing -0.1, -0.0, -0.0, -0.1, -0.1 -0.1 and finaly that glorious -0.2, and then it was like. "Ah I nailed it", and the pressure was on to do the rest of the lap perfect. Needless to say I never did. The content of this post would have been different to put it mildly. Oh well, I cant be bothered for another lap. I'm submiting now.

150-151. MPH that is.

Yeah, I know how it feels... I just keep lapping consistantly, and then, once in a while I see that 'perfect' T1 that I know would put me 0.300 behind my current best lap, and then my hands just keep shaking for the rest of the race and I 🤬 up everything - if you can excuse my language ;)

I almost cannot be bothered anymore, but I have been known to improve my time at the last minute, before submission dateline, so I am going to give myself chances until then :sly:

Yeah, that's what I am getting as well, but I don't assume the speed at the finish line is very much indicative on how good you exit the 'S', now that I think about it... There's too much of a gap between the 'S' and the finish line :indiff:

The Wizard.

Time submitted.

Could have been better, could have been worse. :dopey:

See you next week. :)

I've had almost no time what so ever to run this combo. Been far too busy last week and this one seems even worse.. 👎

Did two sessions wednesday and thursday I think and I did beat my first goal by something like .05 of a second.. :scared: Probably could have done better but I'll submit this time later on today.. I'm pretty satisfied although I'm nowhere near you fast drivers..

See you guys on the track in the next challange!

Cheers!

EDIT: Time submitted.. No improvement.

Yo wizard man, i love the gt lime cat, even though he's a badass mo'fo, but anyway, im not posting to tell you that, im posting to tell you to stick to the kerbs!

Through the S you need to just miss the left kerb and accelerate into 3rd, then back to 2nd before youve had time to fart, then turn in on a line that catches the kerb on the right near the mountain as you exit the S.
The kerb pulls you round, meaning you're hitting 3rd before you even know it.

Best line in my opinion.

Ive submitted my time now, i know i am faster, but other constraints in my life have taken presedence this week, so ive had to settle for a time where i didnt hug the kerb on the first corner (losing .5 of a sec) or the left in between the two tunnels (losing another .2) or the last sections sweeping right onto the straight (losing yet another .1) which means i could have had a nice round figure in a low area, if you know what i mean. (.8 was all i wanted.)

Anyway, i hope you get your time, and good luck everyone!

Im looking forward to the level playing field that will be GT4.
Thoroughly enjoyed this week!

Ok, first off, watch the spam dude...
Two smilies for no obvious reason is not considered a quality post or anything close to one.

Also,
I am still asking for Divisions in time submissions.

I am also asking that the car you drove in a race like this one be designated in your time submissions.

:irked:

I'm sure you'll pull it together. 👍 :D

... Looking foward to getting those results up (that I am :sly: )
Later. :D

I'm about half a second off from where I wanted to be, but I'm just going to have to submit since I won't have time tonight. Need to do some maintenance on my car, sometimes I wish basic maintenance was as easy as it is in GT4. I'm sure I'll be competitive enough for the other Div 3's.

See you at the finish line.

Time submitted.Cant wait to the result :yuck: Had at least half a second that I couldnt materialise.

P.P? Are you one of those lovely Saudi ladies that plays GT# cause you cant have a licence ? If not, forget my rudish quest :guilty:

Kent! Forgot to mention in submission; Castrol Supra and div.1 racer.

PP has just gone off line so you still have enough time to edit your post

Going for one more session later tonight
I managed to beat my PB 4 times on the last session, all clean but still not good enough. Perhaps it's an age thing now that I'm getting on a bit, slower reflexes and all that jazz. I know one thing though; I'm going to hit the damn thing with my walking stick if I don't get what I want tonight :grumpy:

I think it's not too bad for WRS. I probably won't have won this race, but I'm sure I leave another podium spot open. See it this way :)

And although I don't mind a win, I'm just playing WRS for fun 👍 . When I would have liked the combo this week, I'd have sacrificed some sleep. Now I decided to let this week pass as I didn't have any spare time to race.

Within a few weeks when GT4 is available for all of us, I'm sure I'll have more than enough competition. Besides, Tannis is giving me enough motivation already to drive a sharp time. I really have to do some effort to end in front of him every time
