I tried one of my Carrys. Low turbo but had to dial it down to make the pp. Just didn't have the grunt on the uphills. I ended up 3rd.

Went with my go-to for these races, Copen. Even that I had a hard time. I only caught Igor in the last lap on the LAST turn for 1st! It's the uphills where my cars have a hard time. It's gonna be tough tomorrow.

Yes it's gonna be difficult this one , i try to refresh my Copen settings especially the gear box for uphill sector.
Did one race ( normal mod) and pass the Honda on 5th lap , laps was at 21's up to 23's having more than 6 seconds lead but difficult to get CRB when time is pushing and you must hold it in traffic.

The Carry is tail happy and make it almost impossible not to hit the barrier at least once at the last downhill right before the end of second sector 😬 .

First attempt with the Carry I didn't upgrade anything except power & won easily, on another GT7 user I tuned the Carry like I tune almost all cars which means lowest distance from the ground and it made the Carry so slow that I needed 3 attempts to win. Stupid coding causes the Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo the same behavior, it can't be turned [fast] if it has lower than 100 mm ground clearance.

I found 90mm front & rear to be minimum for the CARRY. That’s with -5 front/-4 rear degrees of negative camber. Regular AI are just competent enough to steer it. I need SOPHY to hurry and learn to use it.

Decent week given we had a couple of new races. Willow is slightly harder than you'd think, actually required a reasonably fast car, nice time of day though. Nissan GT-R Cup is the opposite because I managed to win in a stock R32, the AI just isn't fast around that track at all. Eiger I used my Suzuki Carry which I had just tuned, had to drop it back to 400 PP and my first attempt I struggled because I left all the downforce on it, once I dropped that to minimum it was much faster and a decent amount of fun too. The special event was surprising because they all use SS tyres and seem to set some pretty quick laptimes. Ended up running my swapped C3 which doesn't like corners but is so stupidly fast on the straights it was easy enough to win. Final race at Maggiore I struggled the first time with a fully tuned DB 11, ended up tweaking the setup and gained 2 seconds a lap which made the second run much easier and a lot more fun to drive. One of the Subarus was very quick in this race, more than 10 seconds ahead of everyone which was a surprise, most of the others pit an extra time so they're nothing to worry about.

Cars of this week:
full

I’m not sure what I did but I think I found a glitch build in that as I added more powerful upgrades on the Carry the pp actually went down. I pretty much maxed it out and could barely get to 380pp.

I won easily though it was twitchy. I need to tune the suspension and LSD.

At least I brought food for the race workers. Speedy delivery!

I see this is another weekly which make me feel that PD ditched adding new event types with new menu books and instead they are adding those events as special to weekly challenges. I am very dissapointed with that.

I perffered that we were getting one make races as weekly special and new menu books which permanently added events to career mode.

20-2025.jpg

1. American FR Challenge 550 - I decided to use the new Corvette (Left, below the GT-R from race 2) in this track, it's a decent car, but I still absolutely hate Willow Springs. 1st, regardless.
2. Nissan GT-R Cup - Used the 2017 GT-R Nismo (Above the mentioned Corvette from earlier), again, it's a decent car, understeers in the tight corners, but also, it's just really boring in terms of it being a track car IMO. 1st.
3. Lightweight K-Cup - I used an upgraded version of the new Suzuki kei truck (Far left, below the semi truck), all upgrades from sport, plus a turbo, fully customisable ECU and comfort soft tyres. It's surprisingly quick in the tight corners, but I would need a gearbox upgrade... And perhaps some more handling upgrades. I only got third, which I owe from understeering into the barriers on the bridge section on the last lap. 3rd.
4. Corvette Cup - I used the 2017 ZR1 (In front of the 787B, near the bottom). It's bad, IMO, it understeers and oversteers bad. Not as bad as the C6 I tuned a year ago (Seriously, I need to get rid of it and start again.) 1st.
5. WTC 800 - I used the 787B, Again, it's overpowered, no need to stop for fuel on map level 6, and I only changed tyres to make sure.

EDIT: I forgot the two cars in the middle. I got the FXX K as a ticket prize, and brought the RS01 GT3 with the money.

Attempted 4, so far. Succeeded in 3.

weekly-challenge-202505w3-r1.jpg

Willow Springs - Shelby G.T.350 '65 - The only upgrade I made was to the tires: SS. That made the car fast enough but I still wasn't quite able to catch to the leader for the win. Still, a P2 gets the check mark. First ticket obtained (ended up being a turbo for a GT-R).

weekly-challenge-202505w3-r2.jpg

Dragon Trail Gardens - Nissan GT-R '17 - I think I've driven this car before. It already had SS tires on it. Don't remember if I made other mods. It was an easy win for the second check box.

weekly-challenge-202505w3-r3.jpg

Eiger Nordwand - Suzuki Carry KC '12 - I had a fun time kitting this thing out. Threw everything I could find at the tuning shop in it. It was still a hard-fought race. I only managed to catch Fraga on the final lap and get by the final corner in a messy move for the win. Second ticket obtained.

weekly-challenge-202505w3-r4-c1.jpg

Grand Valley - Chevrolet Corvette (C1) '58 - I only upgraded the tires to SS for this one. It was horribly out-classed by the other cars on the track. They just drove away from the beginning, leaving me to take a leisurely drive along the California coast. Finished last, well over a minute behind the next nearest car. If this car is going to be at all competitive, it is going to need some serious modifications. I'm not sure if I'll try again with this car or switch to another.

Pretty fun set of races this week. I decided I wanted to only drive old cars this week. Except for the Carry, of course.

Willow Springs International Raceway_ Big Willow__1.jpeg

Took my Ghia Plymouth out and its a thrill to toss around the tight corners. With a bit of power and no downforce it really likes to dance. Highly recommend.

Dragon Trail - Gardens_.jpeg

Took out my oldest Skyline for this one. This one has the engine swap so it can compete with the modern stuff. Feels like a dart. The suspension was a bit stiff so if I hit a curb too hard it would bounce because its so light. I like it a lot, I just need to tune it a bit more.

Eiger Nordwand__1.jpeg

I got a bit carried away with this one. Fully tuned it except for the turbos. Something ridiculous about spending 10 times the cost of the vehicle tuning it. Strange how the race transmission nerfs the points a bit. It still struggles up the hill to the last corner, annoyingly, but gains it all back through the tight corners.

Grand Valley - Highway 1_.jpeg

Why not go for the little red Corvette for this one. Decent track to throw around an old overpowered roadster with no downforce. Not the swapped one, just the regular old engine. Really makes you show off that rear end.

Autodrome Lago Maggiore - Full Course_.jpeg

Maybe I cheated a bit, but man the 917K is such a dream to drive. I love using it for the Le Mans 700pp and Sardegna races already. On softs and FM6, you only need to pit once for fuel and tires, and I was still getting sub-2 minute times. Great car.

Somehow for my daily ticket, I got a six star ticket too. I got a VGT Genesis car from it. Sigh. Six star parts ticket got me a carbon propeller for a Murcielago. Let us sell parts already! And the six star car ticket? Got me the Mazda RX-Vision.

So I'm pretty whelmed by the prizes. On one hand, wished they were something more exciting. On the other hand, makes it easier for me to collect them all and not have to buy. I feel like the VGT cars are the last ones I want to spend money on to pad my collection book.

The funny thing it’s that when that same car is controlled by IA it’s incredibly fast and stable. In my race It was on 3rd position

Did all the races today , took all CRB but had to do again the GTR due to a silly mistake.
At Eiger i hold my Copen " horse " and took the CRB with laps at 24's - 23's and best 22 high.
The Vette race was a bit awkward for me and i quit on second lap since i couldn't pass the old vette with blistering speed on straights leaving me last after first lap
Needed to change car with serious upgrades ( short of ) to clean this one but definitely I'll do it again from curiosity to see what laps AI are pulling out .

Also ALL my 6* tickets lately become way crappy than before.
Don't know if something change but still am receiving ONLY gt3 cars that worth almost nothing by selling them.
My today AMG 20 that i got worth only 139k 🤣 .
Also most of the cars as a content was gt3 😱 which i never faced before .
Usually 6* tickets was around half million in credits or a cars worth around that price by selling them but not any more .

Olympus fall and with noise 🤣 .

Naz got a Veyron that he will sell for 1.5M so no change.

You were lucky before then.

I never won a gt3 before as i remember so it's a big disappointment to get only gt3 three times in a row , only gr2 and that 3-4 times only , mostly was VGT's if it was a car reward or solo 6* .
I'll wait for the next one .

Finally i brought the Carry at 22's mid on TT which means 23's mid -high is possible at the Eiger race Honda hunt .

Tomorrow ill keep on to it and share my settings .
Need to try and the non wide body but all good liveries are in wide .
Meanwhile if someone else have found something ill be glad to test it .

American FR Challenge 550: Ford Shelby GT350R
Nissan GT-R Cup: Nissan GT-R Nismo
Lightweight K Cup: Honda S660
World Touring Car 800: Mercedes CLK LM
Chevy Corvette One-Make: Corvette C6 ZR1

Not much to add, too tired from all the frustration of even getting the video done.

Done an dusted...

Grand Valley - Chevrolet Corvette (C1) '58 - Since the stock car wasn't cutting it, I went back to the LCD and bought another one to tune up. I created a monster. Engine swapped. Wide body. All manner of upgrades from the tuning shop. The only problem is that the car is now completely undrivable. It spins up the tires if I just look at the gas pedal. It took me the better part of a race for me to come to my senses and turn on traction control. That helped a lot, but not enough to save that race. In my second attempt I had TC2 from the start. The car was still a handful, but at least I could mostly keep it on the track. Another win for the fourth check box.

weekly-challenge-202505w3-r5.jpg
Lago Maggiore - Mercedes-AMG GT3 '16 - I've been driving this combo a lot lately. It was the final round of the latest Nations Cup season. And since it was fresh in my mind, I did the Human Comedy mission race there right after. I went with RM tires on this race. I realized pretty early on that I would need to save full if I wanted to keep it to one pit stop. I short-shifted to at around 75% of the rev bar to make it to the end of lap 5. Pitted for tires and fuel, and did it again. Caught and passed the race leader on lap 8 for a pretty straightforward win. Final ticket obtained, which gave me a Lexus SC430 GT500 '08.

Geez that was an eventful group of races for me. Let's start with the easy ones:
WTC800 in my tried and trusted 800 champ Audi. Easy over a minute win, one stop for a splash of fuel.
Autodrome Lago Maggiore - Full Course_ (9) by 2cam16, on Flickr
Willow Springs in one of my Sierras. Easy win.
Willow Springs International Raceway_ Big Willow_ (10) by 2cam16, on Flickr
Dragon Trail in Kaido House 400R which had won this race a few times. Another easy win by 30 seconds.
Dragon Trail - Gardens_ (7) by 2cam16, on Flickr
Now for the fun stories. Eiger was tried with my Copen which had won this race by a sliver yesterday. Well NOT today. Igor just took off like crazy when I caught up to him and 2nd place. No way was I going to catch him. That pissed me off right there. No pics.
I thought Grand Valley was going to be easy with my slightly modified C5. Right at the start with some classic Vettes, it didn't look good. I thought I was racing in an Elvis movie,Viva Las Vegas, with those old Vettes and the sandy background. Could only muster a 3rd place as the two C8's were gone. Seen here after overtaking the 'fake" #64. lol

I was already fuming from the Kei race so this made it even worse. Brought out the big gun C7 with 700hp. 180mph down the straight and killed them all. That felt good.
Grand Valley - Highway 1_ (7) by 2cam16, on Flickr
Ticket got me the AMG VGT Race which I hadn't owned yet so a keeper.

Here's a quick tune for the Nissan R34 GT-R with the Group C engine swap.

Pit Strategy
One stop, Fuel Map 1 maximum attack.

EDIT: Results
View attachment 1449742

You get ~7 laps at full power, revving to the stratosphere  Your tire wear is great too, and you have AWD GT-R grip in the wet. The bonus is angry V8 noises.

Wide Body, Wide Wheels
Custom Parts: Rear Type B, Custom Wing
The custom rear wing gives more rear downforce, while the splitter gives more overall downforce and decreases drag

OTHER DESTROYER CANDIDATES
  • Jaguar XJ220 with the Group C V12 Swap
  • R32 and R33 GT-Rs with the Group C V8 Swap (5-Speed gearboxes though)
  • Evos with the Gr.B Rally Engines
  • Gr.3 Swapped Road Cars - BMW M3s and M4 with the Z4 GT3 Swap
  • Mitsubishi Evo Final Gr.B and the Group B rally cars in general; if you are OK with their inherent oversteer on braking

SUDDEN GRIP LOSS
- Your ride height may be too low, and your springs may be too soft
- Raise ride height and increase spring rate

Additionally, if you are using analog sticks on a controller, check the calibration. You may be suffering from "stick drift" I had a similar issue back during the Group C events. I disassembled and cleaned my PS4 controller to fix the issue. I'm not sure what to do for PS5.
Don't forget the Toyota Athlete with the Suzuki GR 3 Engine Swap it will absolutely destroy the Lemans Race and all the 700 pp Races!!!!

Two questions:
  1. Corvette race: What PP is recommended but not over the top? I did the race with an upgraded C7 at 760pp but it was no challenge at all. Some ppl here use a 700pp car. Is this the sweet spot? Will 600pp do as well (given I'm not really a good driver)?
  2. Kei cup: Using cappuccino or copen (both at exactly 400pp) I only get 2nd after several tries. I feel those cars are ok (especially the cappuccino corners pretty well) but my setup might need improvement (my driving skills do so as well, of course). Any recommendations regarding suspension, LSD, gearbox etc.?
The other 3 races are absolute no-brainers :)

Thanks in advance.

Tried twice, with a 400PP Copen, finished 2nd the first time, and put a low RPM turbo for the second test, passed Igor mid-lap 5 (on normal). Had to us a good bit of power restrictor to go below 400PP with the turbo)

Ran the Group A RS 500 for Race 1 and RB25 for Race 5.

Race 2

Had to settle for P3. Not enough laps to challenge for P1.

Finished 4th in the Z06. Jumped in the Callaway C6 GT4 FIA GT4 European Cup car on RS compound.

For my troubles. I’ll wait for the value to rise to Cr. 500,000 before selling.
