So, first batch of cars ready:

And the first race I went with the R34 V-Spec stock engine (white with red accents). Agile and eager and even 4 wheel slides in some sections; then the Yellow 400R brake checked me after Wipperman and all hell broke loose!! Did all I could just to come to this!!!:

WHYYYY???
🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

I don’t want to use deathsticks. I need to go home and rethink my life.

(😅😅 seriously this is a very frustratingly good event!!)

Since my focus has been on lovely roadcars lately, let's switch to spaceships [prototypes].

The Grand Valley Gr.1 event appeared in a weekly challenge eons ago. Wong became my nemesis; driving my favorite Peugeot endurance torque missile of car more efficiently (and sometimes faster) than I ever could. My vindictiveness inspired me to test many cars here, though my memory is hazy now and that knowledge may be out of date.

As a refresher, I began with the endurance cheat code Mazda LM55 VGT.

I considered staying out forever. Buuuuut I could also run full power, full grip, full crazy qualifying trim as a normal stint...

  • One stop (5 Laps),
  • Racing Softs,
  • FM1,
  • Foot through the floor for the whole run

Oh right, this race had penalties enabled.

I did not care.

Onto the Peugeot 908 Endurance Torque Missile.

My Race Strategy?

Me to the lead AI: My vindictiveness requires that I treat this as a 10 lap Time Attack. I do not care what you do. You will not get the fastest lap.
Lead AI: ...
Lead AI to Back Markers: Please be as annoying as possible for as long as possible.

  • One Stop (5 Laps)
  • Racing Softs
  • FM1
  • Shift at 50-60% of the rev bar
  • Dancer footwork on the throttle until 160kph / 100 mph
  • Gorilla stomp throttle through the floor after that

Yes. Mid rpm turbo made this a torque monster.
Torque Monsters, rise up!!

I also recommend the Audi R18 from 2011. It has similarly ridiculous torque output, but has superior low-speed turn-in.

For Later:
I'm off to go fight the Valkyrie and attempt to put 1400+ hp through Sports Softs.

@ROCKET JOE Best wishes and feel better soon ❤️

Weekly cars all on hard difficulty

Japanese FR 450: Stock Miata 12R '25 - 480PP so a little OP. Still fairly close. Took the lead at Degner in lap 2. Won by about 2,5s.

World Rally: Used the trusted Delta HF Integralle '92. 580PP something like that. Easy win, AI doesn't know how to rally in these overpowered beasts... Won by 15s.

One-make: 700PP VR38DETT-swapped Nismo 400R with a Fast 'n Furious livery. Understeer galore, so suspension and diff needs some work.. Did manage a win

Hyper Car: Thought this was an excuse for a first-time drive in the Corvette CX Concept (stock). Even MORE understeer, like what?? Like the looks, don't like the drive. Avoided rain, easy win...

Gr.1: Alonso's SF19-Honda 🤣 , Medium tires. No stop. Clean win!

6*-ticket was a car I already had and sold for around 600k. Can't remember what it was :banghead::dunce:

Been dabbling in the Weekly challenges as of late, mainly just as an excuse to race some of my favorite tuned and non tuned cars. Saw that we had a GTR Race at the ring, and I knew I had to give it a go. Over in the Car of the week thread, we tested the 400R pretty soon after its entry into GT7. I loved how raw the car was, as well as how good it handled despite its stock Comfort Soft tires. In my humble opinion, this car has one of the best interpretations of Polyphony’s FFB implementation.

Anyways, my goal was to take a bone stock 400R, and tune it only as much as I needed to get 3rd. Took me ~ 3 hours over the course of two days to finally get it, but I had a blast testing and tuning my way there!

This is the tune I ended up with :

And here’s my best heel-toe effort around NBG

Edit: I uploaded the wrong attempt. Looks like I got 5th in this one - but y’all get the gist..

Rally and VR is one of the funnest things to do in Gran Turismo, that isn’t talked about. Decided to see if my motorcycle racing background could transfer to a vintage, virtual rally car - complete with feeble clutch-kicks and multiple stalls!!

100% I think VR shines particularly in rallye where you spend good amount of time with the car not facing where you go (but you can turn your head in VR). Kart is extremely good in VR too.
Never tried VR before, but seriously I've been missing a lot of entertainment and action in these special challenges. Need to find a ps5 asap that's not $800. I have lots of issues with patience but what choice did I have when we were running out of money for food.

Oh, btw. My mother finished her 8th round of Chemotherapy on September 25th, her last one. Yes, we made it through! It was tough.

So far, I have only finished the first 4 races. At some point, I will get to the Gr.1 race at Grand Valley. For the first race, I pulled out my Corolla AE86 that is tuned to match the Sprinter Shigeno Version for a fairly easy win. The rally race doesn't have the GR.B requirement to enter, so I pulled out my swapped Escort RS for the easy, but fun, win in a car I don't drive enough. I then pulled out my R92CP-swapped R33 for the GT-R race at the Nurburgring. The R33 is a rocket ship, which made for a fun race. The last race I have done so far is the Hypercar Parade, which I used my Porsche 911 GT1. My GT1 is tuned to around 700hp and threw some Racing Hards to hopefully keep up with the Valkyrie. I did get lucky that the Valkyrie started at the back with me, so I was able to pull away early and maintain a decent gap. The real luck came when the rain held out until the last lap, but by then the Valkyrie was 10 seconds behind.

Started WC this morning with the Suzuki Carry at Suzuka. Came in 2nd because my wife came up from and started talking to me so I paused the game right before the last curve with about a .5 sec lead on the 2nd place Sileighty. When I unpaused the game I forgot where I was so I ran into the barrier and finished in 2nd.

I am seeing a few of you using the GT-R LM Nismo for the Gr.1 race at Grand Valley. How good is it on the more technical circuits? I haven't driven mine since the update it received a few months ago.

For me it's slower and has worse tyre wear than most of the other Gr.1 cars. It is unique to drive though and will make you have to think a little more about strategy than the others will.
