Start on RM, pit on lap 6 and switch to Softs. Recharge until the 3/4 bar.

It rained suddenly on Lap 9, though, and had to switch to Inters. No recharge.

Profit.

Another set done, Easy races but surprisingly good driving experience! Tried a couple of oddballs and it definitely spiced things up! This week's chosen warrios:

1) European FR Challenge 550 - 500 Mondial PininFarina Coupe '54: 549PP on Sports Medium tires; Quirky, noisy little fun car totally happy at being the odd one in a very tight-knitted roster made entirely by BMW's, and it was the leader after the second lap. Wonderful view from the cockpit, pleasing to drive, and clothed in beautiful Ferrari Red

2) Japanese Clubman Cup 550 - Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R '73: 549PP on Sports Medium tires; It was fairly even the first three laps, then it was a battle between Kokubun's rabbit Supra and my Skyline. The red chibi rocket was planted with just the right amount of body roll enough to feel its limits. Nice run overall!

3) Special Event ELANTRA N One Make - Hyundai ELANTRA N '23: 599PP on Sports Softs tires; The now familiar pattern of a slow field and two rabbits at the top, went cloudy for a while I thought rain would come but didn't; never mind that because I. Love. This. Car. Totally on rails, does everything you ask it to, and with little mods it's a serious fighter at this level. Surprisingly the 2P car was visually full racing customized yet 1P was very much stock looking but faster, hmmm. Another cool race overall!

4) WTC 600 - Wicked Fabrication GT 51: 599PP on Sports Soft tires; The big most unlikely car to be picked was on fire today! I refuse to put wings on these beautiful cars so I went almost an hour testing ballast and suspension settings and still even on Sports Softs tires it was eager to let loose its rear end anytime it could! Fun, fun, engaging race! With 70kg ballast at full 50 rear, it was the least loose setting I could come up with. Lost it a couple of times but got the win at the final straight before the downhill to the finish line. Also I think the two-tone paint job I gave it looks cool!

5) Gr. 1 Series - F1500T-A: 949PP on Racing Soft tires; Like the Wicked Lincoln before, this was also tail happy that I had to lengthen the gears to avoid wheelspin! Went a bit blind as to tire/fuel consumption, but it didn't matter much because rain came at lap 3. Switched to IM tires and after three yellow flags due to the AI going bumper-car happy, track dried out at lap 6 and then all out FM1 on a fresh set of RS tires for another drama-free yet very engaging win!

Keeping my expectations in cheek for Spec III and the Power Pack to see what new changes will take place for these weekly sets!

Skipped the Gr.1 as I've tried it before with failure. Maybe I'll try an SF instead of the VGT's.
Euro Sunday in a car that has won this before and in an appropriate Rickard Rydell livery,Volvo 240 at 534pp. Good racing. Overtook Bonelli on the last lap and held on for the W.
Japanese Clubman in a car I haven't used for this race yet. Mildly tuned STi on SS and in the livery of my ex-real '04 WRX that was my weekend SCCA racer. lol Won by almost 4 seconds over Yamanaka.
Hyundai special was too easy so I'll retry in something close to stock.
WTC600 in my Escort on SS that has won this race a few times. Fun battle until the last lap with Haywood in is Lambo. Won by a few seconds.

First of all, I had used my LM55 (base version) last time at Atlanta where I won whithout issues, but my tune seems not to be suited for Suzuka as I'm spinning quite often. Second, my no-pit strategy running on FM6 didn't work because at lap 6 it started raining quite heavily and I had to pit at a point where I was far from top position, so after pitting I nearly started again at the last position, so I decided to exit the race before its end.

I had RMs, also at FM6, but as I said I was so slow that the single pit stop caused to not being able to win the race.
I use high aero both sides on this one plus i don't worry about CRB anyway.
The first couple of laps though ill never win it since i was way back on the field but even with more than half a lap in heavy rain with RH ,i won over 30 seconds and didn't change FM , i was on 5 at the end.

Little to no time this week because of work, so I just picked cars for a (mostly) easy win!
All on hard difficulty

European FR Challenge 550
: BMW M2 Comp '18. Easy, CRB ✅
Japanese Clubman Cup 550: Lexus LC500. A bit boaty for Tokyo, but managed a win by 2s with a CRB✅
World Touring Car 600: Mitsubishi Evo IV, tuned to 596PP with a 1997 WRC livery. Won, but not cleanly! Rabbit was 13s ahead of P2 by the time I got there. Gaining 25s on a 5-lap sprint that takes less then 1:30/lap is just... PD gotta PD I guess. CRB🚩
GR.1 Prototype Series: Super Formula/toyota '19 with a classic Toyota Panasonic F1 livery. Stint 1: FM1, RM until the rain hit in lap 5. Lap 6-7: FM1, change to inter and little fuel (5-10%). Lap 8-9-10, no fuel, change to RS, FM1. Won with 55s clear of P2 and several AI down a lap. CRB🚩 because I spun in Spoon on RM in the rain...
Hyundai Elantra N One-Make: Whipped out the 700P grind tune. Walk in the park. CRB✅

Daily marathon: 3* that gifted me 10K
6* roulette: Suzuki VGT -> sold for 560K.

Great choice of cars and colours/liveries man! Kudos! Keep them coming! (Although I find a bit odd for my taste the F1 type in the prototype Gr1 race)

You can't really blame players for using SFs or F1s when the game obviously forcefully (yes, two adverbs) creates this difficulty spike by creating a 30-40 second gap from the lead A.I. AND making them run lean fuel while still being blistering fast (worst offenders are the R92CP and the 908 AI; which by the way I tested them stock in the same conditions in Suzuka and they are nowhere near as efficient as the AI without the fuel saving methods, which they don't do anyway).

The 600 pp Road Atlanta race is beyond busted. Way worse than the Tokyo grind. Again, classic example of PD difficulty logic. Whoever made that one clearly assumes everyone would run an exploited 600pp tune, and proceed to spread the gap to smithereens AND add two OP cars beyond 600 pp (just to make them shine as "new" toys in the update patch).

Could you clarify this ? I'm asking because I have managed to win the other 4 weekly races (not necessarily at their first attempts) but I'm a bit stuck with this one. I do it with the Porsche GT4 '16 (non Clubsport) tuned at 599 and don't seem to be able to win. I can only finish 2nd or 3rd. I drive in Normal difficulty mode. I do not consider myself a "good" or "experienced" driver, this obviously probably doesn't help.

Also, with respect to the Toyota SF19 mentioned by @tonidavid5 , this is the car I used to win the Suzuka race. But I find it too easy with this car, it drives like on rails. But perhaps the others do too, I'm not sure. I think I finished this race with a 55 seconds lead over the guy behind me. That's obviously not a super balanced race.

Hi does anyone have a decent tune or upgrade path for the Hyundai Elantra N 23 I hate driving it, it washes out during corners and just wheel spins front going no where. Only managing 2 nd place for weekly. I’m on SS tyres and have some upgrades too, horrible to drive 😢 💩

For the Road Atlanta race, lap times should be under 1:30... heck do a 1:25 if you want a chance to win. And that's only possible with a busted 600 pp tune. The fact that the race only has 5 laps with THREE overpowered, overqualified cars (Huracan, Gallardo, RGT-8) spread through a 30-second gap and you are pressed with time, and in my opinion it's beyond stupid. The DP-100 VGT can do it, so does an engine swap HiAce (did a lap in 1:19 on RS tires).

The Gr.1 races are not even balanced to begin with. We have Group Cs, an uber fast diesel 908, and the VGTs who are nothing more than mere traffic cones. Your only opponent is the 908 (and in the Daytona race, the Group Cs are a force to be reckoned with) which has the perfect combo of pace and fuel efficiency. Done in Hard difficulty, that 908 AI can kiss you goodbye if you aren't focused enough.

Oh that.

Raise the ride height. Apparently the low ride height grinds the tires. Doing so solves the problem. Tune the springs and dampers accordingly.

One exception to the VGTs: the L750R hybrid. I don't know how much money Peugeot has slipped under the table but their cars don't seem to have any rules at all. It runs on racing softs, which look more like super-über-softs judging by how it handles, and has a flux capacitator for an electric motor so you can't pass it exiting corners as you don't have the traction, and you can't pass it cleanly under braking as it has those superglue tyres and will clip your front quarter while divebombing you from the outside.

And then there's indeed the 908. Which is allegedly stock but accelerates as well as mine with an upgraded turbo on fuel map 4, while revving to the end of the shift bar and still having the same mileage as mine on that said map 4 and short shifting in the first third of the bar. Not to mention that it can exit corners without too much trouble on full throttle when there are nearly two bars of water on the track and it's on half worn racing mediums.

Funny, that car was OP as an AI opponent in the early versions of the game. It was a nightmare that ultimately made me resort to using the base LM55 VGT from then on.

And then PD decided to nerf the entire class. Guess what, only the 908 survived.

It was, and in Sport too. But I just had massive trouble with it earlier today, being several seconds faster over a full lap is easy but thanks to its corner entry/exit capabilities getting past is frustratingly hard. It's slow on the straights but gets out of the previous corner so quickly that you just catch it at the braking zone, and then can't pass it and have to settle back down behind it as it crawls through the corner before zooming away again. Rinse and repeat until there's a straight long enough to blow past and never look back.

44-2025.webp

I missed out on last week, since I was on a vacation, but I'm back now.

1. Beginning the week, I used the BMW M3 '07. I quite like this car. On a side note, if anyone's got a livery with the M Stripe coming from one of the lights that I can recolour, Please let me know.
2. Next, I used the Civic Type R Special Edition FK8 (Really rolls off the tongue.) - It's okay. Not anything remarkable.
3. I used the Elantra N again, still suffering from understeer and a sort of flatspot after shifting.
4. I used one of my favourite Ferrari's, the F430. It was quite a battle with the Huracán, but I won.
5. Finally, I used the TS030 for the GR.1 event. It was pretty easy, I was planning on using the 787B, but it just didn't have the pace, I will need to see if I left the restrictor on by accident or something.

How do I begin, what can I say ... and why is it a question at all ?
Reason might be the most impressive thing this week's been how annoying the WTC 600 event is. I won't start more rant now, a lot has been said already above and I can't contribute brand new aspects.
At least I know now what to do next week : Searching 600 PP cars that are competitive here. Thanks for all the hints you already gave, guys.

All the other races have been fine really, demanding at times, all in all everything went as expected.
Road Atlanta though. I picked my 600 PP Gallardo I had already used in former WCs but I wasn't able to make it a winner here. The podium was possible anytime, even with CRB, but I couldn't shave away these 3 or 4 seconds missing against Haywood or Bayless. Needless to say the faster I got the faster they got.
So I ended up with a car I had used lots when grinding at Tokyo which is the DP-100. On SH tires, restricted to just below 600 PP but otherwise stock it's still a rocket. Joe's rocket !

Race 1 - BMW Z4 3.0i '03 / 510,05 PP
WC_251114_R1.webp

Race 2 - Sony Honda Afeela Prototype '24 / 536,95PP
WC_251114_R2.webp

Race 3 - Hyundai Elantra N '23 / 564,45 PP
WC_251114_R3.webp

Race 4 - Aston Martin DP-100 VGT '14 / 599,80 PP
WC_251114_R4.webp

Race 5 - Mazda LM55 VGT '14 / 917,20 PP
WC_251114_R5.webp

Back to Road Atlanta now ... :odd:

While @ROCKET JOE pick the DP100 i give order for Code red .
After two attempts with Express at hard level which i win the second one Bayless and his company (that are ridiculous fast on straight line ) o decide to give the order.
The mechanics put RM tyres and med turbo , fix the gears and tweak a bit the suspension but they told me : watch carefully the brakes ,you need distance.

So i took my revenge 3 times in a row 🤣
I even wait Bayless , Haywood and Yamanaka to show them on the big straight who's the boss now bitches ?

When I did the World Touring Car 600, I had all three of those guys in my race and they started right in front of me. Essentially for me, it was a matter of diving by them in the cornering sections and then repeatedly putting the slower folks between me and them while building an uncatchable gap. Got pretty lucky on my AI roll because sometimes its not as simple.

I used the stock Elantra and won easily (on normal though). No issues driving the car, pleasantly surprised even.

1000 times this. Winning the Road Atlanta on hard difficulty was the hardest win in the whole single player for me. Simply because I couldnt find a car that could catch up. I think I ultimately won with a regular GT-R Nismo 17 or the T-Spec, can't remember. This time around I thought it was my engine swapped R32 Nür and used that but no chance catching Bayless in his RUF.

Earlier in the thread we had a win in the Lexus LFA and then the DP100 (and my NISMO 17 if memory serves) but this little red rocket really surprises me. Well done! What difficulty was this on?
