Sucked it up and used the SF for Suzuka. Rain came on lap 6 but ended shortly. By then I was in second. Had to pit at the end of the 8th and came out in second. Had a short battle with first but took it halfway through the 9th lap. Kalle Rovanpera in his F2 debut before the real one.

Won this Raybrig NSX with the ticket. Will be adding it to my group of cars for some future Sophy race I'll come up with.

1000 times this. Winning the Road Atlanta on hard difficulty was the hardest win in the whole single player for me. Simply because I couldnt find a car that could catch up. I think I ultimately won with a regular GT-R Nismo 17 or the T-Spec, can't remember. This time around I thought it was my engine swapped R32 Nür and used that but no chance catching Bayless in his RUF.

Earlier in the thread we had a win in the Lexus LFA and then the DP100 (and my NISMO 17 if memory serves) but this little red rocket really surprises me. Well done! What difficulty was this on?
I was on hard difficulty for this race yesterday to see how fast they are going.
Took the Express at first ( EVO group B road car ) and Bayless smoke me since i couldn't catch him anywhere at fifth lap and get second place.
The next one i was more aggressive and i have to block him at the end to win it.
So i set the code red ( CIVIC touring car swapped) and took their pants 3 times in a row.
Of course am not talking about CRB here , was just revenge reasons and to say

What’s your Elantra like to drive ?
It is not great on the brakes and tends to understeer quite a bit, I have not done any real set-up changes though so the understeer can be tuned out no doubt, but I only use it for Elantra races.

I think I had to down-tune it to get 700pp using the tire choice, next time I play I will post the set-up here.

Spent a lazy Sunday, only three things to mention :

1
@adam thompson @A1an @Lomic
Reached the podium today ( P2 ) with a full stock Elantra, hard race mode as always.

2
Ran the WTC 600 with the LFA, for sure another great car at that PP level. I think I've been extremely lucky with the grid, the slowest I've seen so far. Won the race with CRB, however, I can not really enjoy a win that's based on sheer luck.
@RACECAR afaik you've also used the Lexus. How did things go ?

That's been "van-tastic" !

Honestly, I got lucky all three of those guys were directly in front of me because while I absolutely destroyed them on handling (Turns 1-4, the esses and Turn 5), that backstraight is where they are at their most dangerous (Haywood by my observation neck and neck with Bayless and Suswillo only slightly slower). So my LFA, at least with the way I had it setup on the Sports Mediums, is more then capable handling wise and is just incredible on braking but its definitely lacking power in comparison.

Ran the old Alfa at Brands. Not a bunch of power adders, but running on RH tires, which helped balance out what I lacked for HP. That M2 has got some serious accelaration. This was the pass for the lead on the last lap, with a couple blocks to hold on to it.

Hate all tracks Tokyo, so used this 86 at the suggested PP limit. CRB be damned, I just wanted to get it done.

I have all my Elantras on stock suspension, since the race version understeered like crazy. Even if you put in the same settings as stock, it still sucks. So stock it is.

Broke out the old Sierra Cosworth, for the RA race.

Suzuka is another track, I've never liked, so took a serious weapon for this race. Got lucky with no rain.

Finally rocked it! After these Weeklies I got 3 additional cars in my garage :)

Brands Hatch has almost been a BMW one-make, so I took my M2 Competion @ 550pp out there, no troubles here:

I love Tokyo. All races. Except for the grind event :P As before, Lexus @ 550pp did the job even in hard difficulty:

Wasn't sure what tuning apply for the Special event. We had very tough one-makes in the past, e.g. the Viper event at Daytona. So I decided to throw all available tuning parts on the Elantra, just for safety reasons, which turned out to be waaayyyy too much:

WTC 600 at Altanta - how many attempts had I needed to get 1st when I did this race for the first time! Insane! I finally won with the x-nd tune I tried on my Huracan back then. Now I tried one of my NSX's instead and only got 2nd, but with CRB at least:

Thanks to all of you who gave my good tipps for smashing the Suzuka event with the LM55! At the end I just had to raise both front and back downforce to maximum and run with FM1. The plan was to drive until gas runs out, but one lap before that was the case, heavy rain caught me. And guess what: Unlike what others experienced, AI wasn't dancing in my case - I was!!! AI just got slower. So after being 2nd I was thrown back to P17 after the necessary pit-stop where I equipped IMs. Still, I was lucky and could catch Bishop in very the last lap - mission completed!

Since it took me 2 race days to complete all events I got two daily training tickets.

A 4* ticket gave me I RAV4 to expand my SUV collection:

The second ticket even was a 5* and yielded a GT-O Safety car (which I already had twice):

From the final 6* ticket I got a DeLorean, which I shall use only from time to time :P (guess you'll get it)

Missed so many of the long breaking zones, should have been an easy win

Completely overpowered from back when we had it before but the lead AI was super strong

As already mentioned chose the wrong GT-R when trying to remember how I won it way back

Finally beat it with a 2 stopper on softs. No stopper on hards with lots of fuel saving works too but managing fuel is more of a hassle. Had to try this race 5 times or so. Never got a fully wet one which is why AI did reasonably well. (I messed up badly in the other races and just barely got 4th once on the no stopper).

@RCKakashi14 are you able to win this race without added turbo in the dry? Asking because you're damn quick and I want to know if it is possible at all.

Got lucky on a 3 star I got on one of those days. Sold for 118k due to being duplicate

Nice car from the 6 star car ticket, but already owned as well and sold for 672k

I tried to stay with the theme of the races as closely as possible rather than just using something way overpowered. This is a completely new way to play the game for me and I enjoy it a lot. In the past I just went and took whatever got me a win the quickest.

I usually run on Easy, so I thought I was ready and switched to Normal difficulty for this week. The only race I had problems with was Suzuka. I needed three tries to get to 3rd. I used the 908. I misplayed the weather and it cost me dearly.

Kudos to everyone that runs on Hard.

I knocked out the first 4 races on Friday and then finished the final Suzuka race yesterday after work. For the European FR race, I pulled out my Aston V8 Vantage codenamed “Thumper”. In a race almost exclusively for BMWs, it’s nice to be different.
IMG_7118.webp

I pulled out my LC500 for the Japanese Clubman Cup and what a great noise it makes.
IMG_7121.webp

The One-Make Elantra N race wasn’t anything to write home about. I did admittedly bring a machine gun to a knife fight!
IMG_7119.webp

The WTC 600 race is the one this week that has the most replayability for me. My first run was in my SLS AMG and had Bayless running away from the pack. I did have to cut Turn 10 to catch and beat him.
IMG_7120.webp

The final Group 1 race at Suzuka was a perfect opportunity to pull out my F3500 and get through it. I absolutely loathe these high downforce prototypes! Luckily, my run had no rain, but I did have to pit with a lap to go for a splash of fuel. The midfield AI literally drive around in a procession all race. Definitely a one and done for me.
IMG_7129.webp

I will probably mess around with the WTC 600 race with a few other cars.

This week's races were easy to me as I came prepared with the proper tools, one VGT, one mandatory, and three old cars...
My Alfa passing the other old car in race at Brands Hatch. Had anyone else notice that this race was a BMW Track Day? All ghe other cars were BMWs...

Alpine 220 at Road Atlanta (easy win as this was my Tokyo grinder....)

LM55 VGT (not the Gr.1) at Suzuka and there was negligible rain so i kept the RH tyres on and no-stopped the race.
