won it with a 700.00 corvette 01 is still a fast one at 587 hp
Daytona isn't that hard as i remember and perhaps can be won with significant lower pp car .
What seems almost impossible is to win the GV on a normal 400pp car .

Also the Porsche race might become very difficult depending if Wulf is inside and how close to the leaders .
At my first attempt was in first place starting the 4th lap and there was no way to pass him at least clearly.
He always writes the fastest lap and i guess the same applies to hard level too.

Half asleep this morning did F3500 race at Yas Marina with Inters on lol, but strangely made the race more compelling. My tyre selection error made the race quite close tightrope type stuff to come first ( it is only a moderate handicap as there is no tyre wear ), but reduced traction really made for a fun mistake! Need coffee!

I've been a bit lazy choosing cars this time, all of them have been former Special Event vehicles ( which I collect ) so nothing new for me on that side. I can not confirm that all the races are easy and boring. At least Sunday Cup and Porsche Cup are tricky / hard unless you run Easy Mode and as long as you try to do it cleanly.

Both of the 700 PP races are possible in cars well below the suggestion, the cars I used were greatly superior so I'll return soon with something less powerful. Even the Formula event turned out less scary than I expected it to be, it's the only race though where I did not achieve a clean race bonus so far so there's more work to do here, too.

At Grand Valley I went to race with my Avantime. Started at 405 PP, got third. 420 PP, got third. 435 PP, got third. I had always reached Lopez and Saenger before the final turn but they just pulled away on the run to the line. At 445 PP I finally was able to build a little gap and win. If anyone finds a 400 PP car to win this cleanly against Saenger and Lopez up front count me in for the challenge.

The Porsche Cup was annoying honestly. Took my stock 911 GT3 RS '22 ( which is a fantastic car as is ) but I wasn't able to beat Carrazza as long as he was starting from pole. During three attempts this guy easily defended any move I tried ( having more grip and more power ) and when I finally had found a way around him he rear-ended me entering the final turn. Exit event ! Enter event ! Carrazza from P4 ! Win ! Don't know ...

Good week even though I've done all in the past except for of course the F3500.
Euro Sunday in my swapped monster of an Autobianchi. Easy win with a twitchy car.
American Clubman in my C6 Vette on RS. Made mince meat of the field at almost a minute gap.
Porsche Cup in my Gr.4 Cayman on RH. Handy win by quite a bit.
The GTR race at CGV again? Geez PD. Anyway, Easy win in my Z-Tune.
The most challenging race of the day for me was the F3500. Used my swapped Renault. Won by around 6 seconds.

My first run ever at the GTR-cup at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Some time ago I won a Stage 5 weight reduction for the Nissan GTR T-Spec 2024 (thank you, dearly beloved parts tickets, which I have never ever cursed at before 😬), so I figured this was the perfect time to buy this semi-new car and make use of both the tuning and this new event.

I did the massive S5 weight reduction, put on the Racing exhaust and the Anti-Lag system, and some new Dunlop SS-tyres. Nothing else.

IMG_2049.webp

Oh boy is this car hauling some SERIOUS @$$ or what! It never stops pulling and just obliterates all the competition. The racing exhaust and the anti lag makes this car sound brutally awesome and might be causing some serious harm to the artificial spectators artificial eardrums.

This car never stops! I mean literally, it does not stop (with stock brakes), you have to brake somewhere around Ottawa not to lose the CRB.

Do not care about that though, this car is just so fun to drive and I will happily try this at some other 700 PP events.

Used the same Porsche as him on normal difficulty, trafic penalised him a bit while I was climbing through, took P1 and never let go, but he was closing in in the end, not sure I would have been able to contain him if the race was 3-5 laps longer.

Done and dusted (hard difficulty)...

weekly-challenge-202601w1-79-r1.webp

Grand Valley - Peugeot 205 GTI '88 - This took a couple tries. The first attempt, I took the car out unchanged since it was already at 399PP. I went back to the tuning shop and added the sports-level parts and CS tires. That was good enough for P3 and the ticket.

weekly-challenge-202601w1-79-r2.webp

Daytona - Ford GT '17 - I made a bunch of modifications, including sports-level parts and better tires, to get it just under the suggested PP. It made for an easy win.

weekly-challenge-202601w1-79-r3.webp

Catalunya - Taycan Turbo S '19 - The only modification I made was the tires -- SS, if I remember correctly. Like most EVs, the car had great top-end speed, but was terrible in the corners. I finished P3, annoyingly close to the leaders. Good enough for the second ticket.

weekly-challenge-202601w1-79-r4.webp

CGV - Nissan R32 GT-R V-spec II '94 - Lots of modifications to the car, including the mid-RPM turbo. I was still a way off from hitting the 700PP limit, but it was plenty to win the race.

weekly-challenge-202601w1-79-r5.webp

Yas Marina - F3500-B - This one took a couple of attempts, too. On the first, I tried on the stock RM tires. I managed P4 and probably could have got a podium had I just tried again, but I wanted to be sure on my second try so I upgraded the tires to RS. It was still a challenge, and I only manged a P3. I don't know why I struggle so much with the events at this track. Regardless, that was enough for the final ticket.

Good times.

SInce i use some Porsches in order to find a quick and " safe " one that's what i notice.
Usually you are competing against Carazza ( or something like that ) but if Wulf take the lead definitely you're in trouble if you are behind him.

Happy 2026 GTPeers!!

Did my races this morning still recovering from last night's third Christmas/New Year's party and tonight's the fourth continuing Sunday and ending Three Kings Day (here in PR Christmas officially ends late January :lol:) so 2026's first Weeklies were done on normal difficulty. But what an early morning rush it was!

1) European Sunday Cup 400 - DS Automobile DS 3 Racing '11: 499PP on Sports Medium tires; This was an old tune around 478ishP which I raised to 499PP so I could get over it quickly. Of course, this happened :boggled::lol::lol::

Grand Valley - South Reverse_.webp

Grand Valley - South Reverse__1.webp

2) American Clubman Cup 700 - Chevrolet Camaro Z28 '69: 700PP on Racing Soft tires; This time the plan worked, let's get this over quickly and also gave me a chance to dust off my IMSA GS Spec Camaro and stretch its legs.

Daytona Road Course_.webp

Daytona Road Course__1.webp

3) Porsche Cup - Porsche 91 GT3 '09; 649PP pn Sports Medium tires: WHAT A BLAST! I always enjoy these Porsche cup races, even on normal it was very rewarding and fun! No race pics as I was in VR mode and left before saving the replay, however I uploaded the fourth lap when it was just me and the AI other 911 GT3 and got the lead, full VR, no aids except weak ABS and braking markers since I don't race much in Catalunya nor Interlagos. Critique more than welcome, still adjusting to VR but I also have much to learn!

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya GP Layout No Chicane_.webp

4) Nissan GT-R Cup - NISMO R34 GT-R Z-Tune '05: 699PP on Sports Soft tires; Another highly rewarding race with the final two laps being a TT run between the AI Mine's and my Z-Tune. This circuit is also becoming a pleasantly one to race, more forgiving than Yas Marina for more cars and also very technical when it wants to be. However the Mine's tried and surprisingly was very fast around the bends but was not enough. Love the Mine's but his time the win was not Your's.

Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve_.webp

Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve__1.webp

5) F3500 One Make - F3500-A stock V12 engine: 961PP on Racing Soft tires; Still recovering from the from the previous races, came into this one and hoping my tires will hold the entire 10-lap race. Then it began and I realized it was a 10-car lineup with just 5 laps to go, ouch!! But it was a fast paced which makes me appreciate this track more and more! This time there were no mistakes done, got the lead fourth lap and the CRB too. This track is truly rewarding in high downforce cars, it's becoming my fave! Fast, close racing up until the end! Again, for the second time didn't save the replay so no shots from the race. As a penance I will drive a stock Unimog for a full lap at the Nurburgring 24hr layout.

My choices for last night's challenges:

Nissan GT-R Cup: Nissan R35 GT-R T-Spec. As promised, a car built specifically for these events (As opposed to the NISMO that was just "Throw some power on it")
And a pic of said car built specifically for these events:

No livery as I literally threw this together prior to recording so this had VERY little testing (Setup is kinda based on the 2018 R35 GT-R GT3 Nismo). Even so, pretty decent with the slidey rear end the only real issue to tackle.

I used the F1 car with the Renault Espace F1 engine, the GTR has the Chiron engine swap so both these were new for me, I couldn't do the Euro 400pp after trying a few cars last night and then a load this afternoon, so I just went with the most powerful to win, but it can be done with a 400pp I found out just now, but more on that later!

The Euro 400pp can be done with the BWM i3 (I managed 2nd on Easy) with it and if you are a better than me which wouldn't be too difficult!
I use a wheel and pedals and VR this was my first attempt after doing some modifications and I think if you are better and add the ballast you could do it at 400pp.

After that i search to find Wulf in higher place but all was in vain.

I change car and after some restarts i finally find him at 6th place .
I wait for him and took the lead starting 3rd lap and before the end i passed him , he never responded, he quit somehow and never being fast as the first day making things very easy

Round 2 on the main account (hard difficulty)...
weekly-challenge-202601w1-78-picks.webp

weekly-challenge-202601w1-78-r1.webp

Grand Valley - BMW i3 '15 - Again, this took a couple of attempts. On the first, I installed all the sports-level parts, second-level weight reduction, and CS tires. The car was pretty good in the corners, but got swamped on the straights with its top speed of 152 km/h. I went back to the parts shop for the third-level weight reduction and SS tires. That didn't significantly improve the top speed, but it made the car even faster in the corners. Good for win this time.

weekly-challenge-202601w1-78-r2.webp

Daytona - GAC Maverick - I expected this car to be a rocket on the oval, so I upgraded the tires to SS, which put is just over the suggested PP. I blasted through the field on the first lap, though they attempted a comeback entering the infield. That was the last I saw of them. Easy win.

weekly-challenge-202601w1-78-r3.webp

Catalunya - Porsche Carrera GT '04 - I upgraded the tires to SS, which put the car over the 650PP limit, so I added some weight and power restriction. It made for another easy win.

weekly-challenge-202601w1-78-r4.webp

CGV - Nissan R32 GT-R NISMO '90 - I already had this car souped up quite a bit -- probably for some earlier Weekly Challenge. It demolished the rest of the field. Too easy.

weekly-challenge-202601w1-78-r5.webp

Yas Marina - F3500-A - Ran this on RS tires, which was enough for the win.

Nice to get wins all around this time.

Using the i3 at GV is a brilliant idea. Bought one, dialed it in according to your sheets above and went to race with exactly 400,00 PP. Needed a couple of laps to get my best out of it but then I actually achieved a win with CRB at hard difficulty. The total runtime roughly was what I suspect to be the threshold for a victory. I must admit I was lucky with the AI as they managed a mighty pile-up at the end of lap 2 and they never really recovered from that. I'll have some more attempts tomorrow for refining my driving and see whether race luck still is on my side.

A cool challenge btw :

P.S. There's no big difference obviously between Easy and Hard for this event - must be 5 seconds something ...

Nice@ It was the number I used on my cars when I used to autocross as seen on my icon picture. So I always use it on my cars in GT.
I once visited an autocross event in the Bay Area back in 2012. Think it was in Alameda, at an old naval yard with a nice view over San Francisco. It seems that you live in the area, maybe you were there shredding some tyres 🙂

I had a really good crack at the Porsche Event @ Catalunya earlier today using the stock 1992 Carrera with Sports Soft tyres (around 560PP), making up tonnes of time around the sweepers that populate this version of the circuit. The car has an impressive braking distance and naturally it handles like a dream.

2nd place is definitely possible (I was within 0.5s of the Cayman across the line, having fluffed the final sector through sheer desperation). I reckon with a flawless run, P1 isn't unrealistic.

Wow can't get any closer than that! Unfortunately I stopped racing around 2011 when I sold my Miata. If it was an SCCA sanctioned event I would have been there.

Thanks @A1an for the car .
I use a bit different configuration than yours but finally i did it .
No CRB although which os quite difficult when you get hit from the behind in the tunnel ( usually) from the cars with higher top speed.

CS tyres
Full adjustable ECU
Spot pads only
Weight reduction 1-2-3
Different aero 39-150
399.87pp
IMG_20260104_070346310_HDR.webp

And to see if is only luck i did this twice with different field always at Normal level .
@ROCKET JOE it's your turn now .

Edit
After some hard level research i find that the winners are between 4.17 up to no more than 4.23+ , so I guess @ROCKET JOE was lucky in his run but win is win and respect for the CRB.
Searching further i put full customise suspension and race brake pads .
Anyway the resume is that i could clock at 27's with planets aligned 🤣 .
My faster run so far and new settings that i put racing pads this time.
Of course a better driver and tunner can do it better than that taking and CRB also
That's where my limits are anyway .

Sunday Cup being the most fun event of the week is always a laugh. I still don't understand the difficulty choices in this game!
3 laps is tight for this one. That's absolutely a tuners 400pp rather than a stock cars one.

The field really makes or breaks this one. Some cars you can get are 1-2s faster than the rest of the field, and if they start ahead then there's basically no chance. The Golf GTI was making it quite difficult with it's running times, but after a reroll it started further down the field and the A110 held the field back enough for the old Samba to take it at 399.99pp.

Was driving the 400 PP i3 around GV for another two hours after applying @smoothbore12 's setup ( I heard the call, mate ). It's definitely an improvement handling wise, not necessarily speed wise though.
For two hours I did not have one single grid with a chance to win - fast frontrunners everytime everywhere ...
I had almost given up when I got that really slow Lancia rabbit and that was it. And that is it for me at GV, don't think I'll return to this event any time soon.

Final comment : With the i3 and its top speed cap, the GV main straight becomes the longest straight in motorsport history, ever ...
