At least 1:35 for Hard difficulty.

Since there are no modifiers, Racing Softs can help you.

The 3500s are understeery on the front end, so start by having a full front downforce and a half rear.

1200 front and 1600 rear. ;)
Honestly managed just fine on default setup. For me, 1st gear on the tighter corners seem to help on rotation and then gradually powering out on exit.

@Darrenersmit I find approaching certain corners in the following ways helps:

  • Turns 2 and 3 in 4th gear (Take advantage of the Aero and grip from the racing softs, as well as the AI crawling through it)
  • Braking at the 150 Mark for Turn 6 & 7 (Seems like no matter what car, the AI brake WAY too early for that corner and have some of the sloppiest lines exiting, sometimes spinning themselves out)
  • Flat out through turn 10 and brake right as you hit Turn 11 (1st gear for me) for 12 before maintaining 1st through 13 (AI washes out alot here) and gradually on power out of 14
  • Lift in 4th gear through Turn 15 (Careful not to hit the wall) and then brake right as the pit line appears (Down to 2nd or 1st gear)

Give that a shot and see if that works for you.

Thank for the tips, I had an idea I could go faster turns 2 and 3. My main struggle is overtaking cleanly. Maybe have to give up on the idea of CRB on this one.

@RACECAR, thanks for the advice. Just had a quick race before bed and grabbed p3 going into final lap on my first(after advice)attempt. Think if I lower my gears, as I had made them wider. and maybe rear downforce I could get p1.
Just the two easier races to finish then may go back to yas marina.

Irrelevant, What's your favourite and what's your faster Porsche at Porsche cup races ?
Favourite isn't always the faster that's why question has two legs 😂

I almost try them all and i stuck in two cars

Swapped 09 and the Turbo S 20 .
09 is my favourite, Turbo S my faster one till now able to clock at 47's in a row with planets aligned in right order .

I have no cristal clear idea but I am most efficient with the GT3 RS '22, and I have the most fun with the '73 and I won't even comment on those glorious dashboards in VR 😁
RS 22 is an excellent car for sure , providing also a very safe feeling .
The 73 is my absolute favourite for historical races just on SS tyres .

After many many laps with different types of the latest era cars ,i find the one that put me under the 9.minuted territory.
And as a very fast friend said , its power vs tyres and am on the tyres side .
I use RH instead of SS and usually for my average skill level it pays me better .

In take no prisoners mode ( paint trade, move on bitch , fact CRB 😂 ) my best outcome so far

Weight 3 stage reduction, everything on racing type ( tyres, gearbox , filter, exhaust, brakes etc ) and 397hp power .

Seeing people's successes with newer Porsches made me wonder if my 996 really sucked that much so I took a previously 700PP tuned Turbo S, detuned it to 650PP still with the same sports softs recipé, and went for a test run. The third lap resulted in a high 1'46 while the 996 could barely do a mid to high 1'48 so that's that question answered.

904 is my favorite but 22 car is the fastest. It just doesn't feel as smooth as the 904 to me though

The 904 is the last one i could take .
I had bad memories from the past when he appeared but to be honest,i never drive her from then ( also had a terrible swap ) .
I guess a lot of things had changed from then and hear you talking about smoothness, tempt me give her a ride .
Might be a good alternative for historical races.

I recently built up a 996 myself (Based on the 2001 GT3 Cup Car) so I can test it out here and see if I can get anywhere near that.

Edit: Could do no better then 1:49s myself.

Has anyone won the 400pp challenge with a 400pp car on hard? I can do it in a tuned 205 with nitrous, but that feels like cheating.
Tried a couple of 400pp cars...nowhere near.
Tried abarth 419pp, nowhere near.
Ended up using my 490pp 205. Said in an earlier post I was expecting this and daytona as the two easier races. Lol how wrong was I. Daytona was easy enough in my mach 40.

The 911 Turbo S '20 was a first time drive for me and after 4 races there's still some work to do. The car's transmission setting isn't optimal, my timing on track is far from good etc ...

I'm using a "race setup" a la @smoothbore12, it's the fastest Porsche model so far. I was saving the best for last, the fourth race was the quickest. Including CRB, that's understood :

@5lab
Attempting to win the GV event with the BMW i3 really is a nice challenge. Some luck is needed with the grid you get but for all the fun it's worth trying anyway ...

NGL I love MR cars. Some of my favorites are the Stratos, 904, MR2, NSX, 330P4. SO I have a little bit of bias. 904 is not the quickest but whenever there's a Porsche race especially at 650pp I choose the 904. I do believe I have RH tires fitted which may tribute to some of the handling smoothness.

Amazing outcome son of gun and crazy faster lap .
And if we put the " including CRB " in the equation make it astonishing.
Personally, i never give attention to collect CRB during the seek of faster Porsche and i had one pain less .

Who won in the end ? Grip or power ?

Who won in the end ? Grip or power ?
I think at a given PP level there is a specific opt relation between power / grip ( and more ) depending on track / car ( and more ) - the Porsches at Barcelona seem to work better with a stress on grip. We could test whether lap times improve running RS tires and sacrifice even more power ...

As for the Clean Race Bonus and why it matters to me :

That's complicated, it's attitude of course, it's never for the credits ! I think I just don't want to put lap times to the test here on the forum that aren't achieved cleanly. The way I learned it ...

I understand fully your CRB method @ROCKET JOE and you ( and the rest of players) have my respect on that .

Personally they are compos that I simply can't get it.
Also some tracks are my nemesis, look RBR for example.
Somehow I'll loose it even with 400pp race 🤣

As for Porsche mania , i feel happy that we found the meta one at least for this track.
Next time we will catch the Ferraris .

Ok Ladies and Gentlemen, if you ever visit Barcelona, in a Porsche, slap on your racing softs, it's the way to go there.

I did this test, here's the results of my second run ( CRB achieved which wasn't too hard ) :

1:45,676 wasn't quick enough though to clock the fastest lap. As you can see, Wulf ran a supernatural medium 1:42 !
Ridiculous ! On top, something's seems fishy. Please, can someone explain why Wulf's gap is smaller than Carrazza's although he's placed behind him ? Or did my blistering run crush the game's time measurement ?
