When this event selection was posted yesterday, my initial response was 'Meh', but 80% of it was actually very enjoyable. All competed on Hard difficulty, with wins in the first 4 races and an honourable 2nd in the F3500 race...
I present this weeks' 'Fabelhaft Funf'...
IMG_1387.webp

Jimny Cup: Weight reductions and fully adjustable suspension. Fun race, nothing eventful, easy win at first attempt.
Euro Sunday Cup 500: Alfa Giulia Sprint Veloce '67 - Clubsport/Race Spec, SS Tyres. Tried first with a race spec VW' Polo '83 on CS tyres but couldn't keep up on the straights. Swapped to the Giulia and chased down the field with ease for a comfortable win.
Ferrari Circuit Challenge: 330 P4 '67 - Stock. Having splashed the cash on this beauty recently, it was time to put her to work. With those bulbous front wheel arches in the foreground, it was great fun picking my way cautiously through the field, ensuring I didn't put a scratch on this automotive masterpiece! She made light work of the task for a regulation win.
Porsche Cup: 964 RS - Full race spec and RM tyres, Really enjoyed this race, the balance of the build just felt 'right' around this course. caught the leading pair with relative ease on Lap 4, but after being punted by what was P2, near the end of the lap, I had to push hard to catch 1st by the end. Made for an entertaining event.
F3500 Special Event: 'Red 75' Stock on RM tyres. I won't lie, I struggle with high powered lightweight race cars. After multiple spins exiting hairpins, I relented and employed plenty of TC. Got to 2nd on Lap 13 as many pitted, took it steady expecting the leader to pit too, but they ran to the end without stopping, leaving me to settle for 2nd. As this is a 'Special Event', I have no need or desire to repeat in order to achieve 1st, with the reward already acquired.

6-Star roulette spin yielded 'only' a Gr.3 Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II, which I already own. Fortunately, my disappointment was lifted when I received Cr.500,000 from the 5-Star ticket earned for the Daily Marathon, completed as a result of undertaking these events.

I couldn't decide on a 'Pic-of-the-week', so here are 3 from my favourite events of the week...

You guys are one lap ahead of me (as usually in the game). I just completed the last Weeklies right before midnight:

#1 Hell of a fun race at Alsace:

#2 When it comes to 700pp and American cars, nothing could beat the good old Ford GT:

20970194595293435.webp

#3 Mazda Spirit Racing wasn't that "spirit-full" in my case since only got bronze on first attempt - but that was enough to compete:

20970722945857767.webp

#4 Tokyo! Please don't blame me for that but it's all those "arcady" tracks, cars and features that make me love GT7:

20970669344063953.webp

#5 First attempt with the NSX Gr.2 only got me P4, so I toggled to cheat mode using the LM55 base version which always works:

Jimny Cup: Jimny Sierra JC. Ol' reliable
European Sunday Cup 700: Radical SR3. Haven't used this in...a while. Pretty effective stock.
Ferrari Circuit Challenge: Ferrari 296 GTB. Quite sharp.
Porsche Cup: Porsche 911 GT3. Another ol' reliable has returned
Special Event: F3500 B. Channeled my inner Schumacher and got to work. Went with a no stopper and boy did I barely make that work.

the Chevy Nova. Now this ! is a real challenge.
You had me sweating with this one. I got so close so many times. Frustration crept in but determination (aka stubbornness) got me the win with a CRB. 🥵

If you're having trouble with the Ferrari's and their wheel spin, master the Chevy Nova and the problem magically disappears 😂.

Speaking of which, I did the Ferrari Circuit Challenge in a completely stock 458 Italia '09. Clipped the wall on the last corner and then passed the leader for a victory win by 0.093 seconds. CRB remained intact.

Decided to bite the bullet and turned it down to Easy for the F3500 race. Used my swapped car on RM's. Turned out to be a bit easy and even had time to stop for a new set of tires and still won by 30 seconds. I probably could have done it in Normal. Oh well ,next time. lol
Porsche Cup in my trusty Clubsport with an easy win.
For the Ferrari race, which I've won a couple of times before, I tried a car I haven't used for this race, one of my 296's. Lost by 3 seconds but I'm fine with that.
Euro race in my Pandem M3 with 539pp for a 4 second win.
Jimny in the same one I've won this race several times before. And as always too easy.
Won 500k with the ticket.

On Hard difficulty, the rather rubberbandy AI can hit 1:10s.

Consistent 1:12s will also do.

And oh, I have also found a way to counteract the F3500's understeer... it's on the FFB setting side, though. (If you use a direct drive wheel, I am happy to share the FFB setting  )

Did the Ferrari Challenge a couple of times to see what PP I could win at.

I used the F430 at ca. 605PP and finished in a comfortable 2nd, but didn't ever have a sniff at P1.

I then switched to the Enzo (650PP) and won easily, so my next target will be the F50 at around 630PP.

Won the F3500 One-Make race - one stop for RM tyres, and otherwise a comfortable win.

I used the swapped F1 and used this set-up, RS and max fuel, I had to stop for tires half way and just had to take a splash of fuel.

I have only added ballast to get the pp at a round 980pp it can go a bit higher!

I've picked the 296 GTB for this week's Ferrari challenge and the car slowly grows on me - I start to like it, it even looks cool somehow and you know that's my thing to pilot through the twisty sections of Deep Forest.
I've mounted a couple GT Auto features so far but the biggest part of the rest is still stock, there's no irreversible changes. All PP adjustments are done by different sport tire compounds, power restrictor, weight and adjustable ECU for low PP settings only.
The car yesterday was at stock PP level, today I did one run at 625 PP ( thanks for the idea, @Touring Mars ) and a second close to the limit.
The race at 625 PP still felt like an easy win, without building a huge gap though. Less PP is possible I think. At 699 PP the car obviously is completely untouchable. Both races were free of any contact, the CRB was awarded in both.

Impressive speed - when the nose slightly lifts at that little crest after crossing the line, you know it's time to break for T1.

Salute everyone ! :gtpflag:

Hello everybody ! My first post on this thread.
I have done the special F1 event : I use the F3500b with Renault engine swap and the tune of Praiano, with Ayrton and his Williams 😢
I do 2 stint : one with medium, pit at the end of 12 lap, switch to soft for the end. No ad fuel, Fm1 !
A good race, not very difficult but be carefull do not spin when you accelerate.
Ps : PS5, Difficulty on hard, gamepad with the cross.

Some people are just more comfortable with the directional pad as strange as it sounds.

Clearly it works for him if he can manage taming these things on the highest difficulty with it.
I know, and I use to be a directional pad user too (we've all been there). But I think everybody should take advantage of new ways of driving, even if it takes a bit of time to get used to it in the beginning.

I always first attempt to win every Race Event using completely stock cars at least 100 PP under the recommended PP. If it's looking impossible I try the next stock car up until I find something that's challenging but possible. For these short 2 lap races it can be difficult getting up the front before the finish line. This week it was the BMW M3 '89 at 461.07PP had the chops for the European Cup 500 race event.

Interesting AI in this race. Like Sophy drivers they will go for the gap if you leave one so you have to keep an eye in your mirrors and defend your position when needed.

For me, this still is the most balanced, mid-engined road going Ferrari.

Power and handling in PERFECT harmony, not seen in the F8, 296; not even the LaFerrari feels that way.

I'll probably build a custom race grid filled with 458 Challenge race tunes. 🤔
