I would suggest the 3000gt..it has the horsepower to propel it to very fast 1000meter times..the Subie loses the power after 500-600 meters

This is true...I've noticed that but thought it more of a tranny thing. But now that I think about it, more HP could be a benefit despite the possibility of tire spinnage. I'll just have to adjust the tranny a bit.... I'll also have to re-copy my save now that I've bought four cars for about 1mil credits total. lol

Well, the Escudo has the sole advantage of horsepower. Horsepower can be defined as ability to reach a given top speed, while torque is ability to push through the air.

I knew that in 1/4 miles times the Escudo and Spec C were very close - but then I should have realized that the Escudo would outpower the Subaru over the long distance. I probably should have included a handicap to the Escudo to make them more even... like no TCS or no racing slicks.

Anyway here is the current leaderboard.

12.749 BCDSM
12.865 German_Muscle

13.028 Jetboys427
13.366 darkwind
13.423 Foamy302
13.765 1989therat
14.780 RedWolfRacer

I'm gonna go win the Escudo so I can actually "compete" :(

BCDSM i see you lurking. You get a faster time or are you makin sure you are still number one? ;)

Just to be different, I'm using the Tommy Kaira ZZII - no chance of winning but fun nonetheless.

0-400: 8.416
0-1000: 14.574

Heres a setup for the Subaru Impreza Sedan STI Spec C:

HP Mods: All available. Original Turbo and Original Suspension
Tires: R5s front and back
Nitrous: 100
Spring Rate: 4.2 / 16.0
Right Height: 94 / 124
Shock Absorbers: 1 / 10
Camber: 0.0 / 0.0
Toe: -4 / 4
Stabilizers: 1 / 1

Tranny
Auto 14
1: 3.014
2: 2.205
3: 1.650
4: 1.270
5: 1.002
6: 0.754
Final: 3.920

Downforce: 30 / 30
VCD: 10
Weight Balance: 96 @ +50

Launch in 1st gear, hit the Nitrous as soon as you start.

A little more work with the tranny and the car will be under 8 seconds in no time and a little wider 6th gear and you'll be under 14s.

With that setup my time was 8.085/14.657.

The only benefit the Escudo has over the Subaru is that is carries about 30 more MPH towards the 1000M. With the right tuning at a 0-400M, the Spec C wins hands down. I've gotten a Spec C to run 7.6s.

Ok I ran 6 runs and came up with this for the Escudo
7.559
13.009

Not the best but good enough for 6 runs.

Good to see that I'm not the only one using the viciously fast--not to mention size-challenged--ZZII. I've managed an 8.564 and a 14.724 at their respective markers on the track at 400m and 1km.

GREAT setup. BUT....try using the Stage 3 turbo (or whatever the highest one you can get is). The original turbo really doesn't help you much more in the lower revs and is really pointless. More so as you will spend all of your time at high revs anyway.

EDIT: I've gotten a similar 1km time, but your 400m is far superior to mine! Wonder what would happen if I could get my 400m time to that and maintain my 1km time's difference....

Whoo finally got a good idea with what I'm doing with this car.

0-400: 7.400
0-1000: 13.161

I hope that's not an Escudo you're using... :ouch:

I'm still trying to find a decent car. The RS200 rally car is looking promising. Now if only I knew how to get it.... *searches car database print-out*

The Delta S4 and 205 Turbo 16 Evo II have a better PWR.

This is true...but at the same time, if I'm not mistaken, they have smaller engines. I could be very wrong here but the engine size is what I'm looking for, though the lighter weight car is my primary concern--an oxymoron perhaps, but I know what I mean. lol Lighter weight will allow the car to accelerate far better, and engine size means that any one upgrade, where possible, will be more benefecial--i.e. a turbo stage 1 on an inline-4 engine won't net as much a power gain as the same turbo on a six-cylinder engine.

ARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH STUPID STUPID 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬(yes about that many censored came out of my mouth when I realized what I'd done....)

I had it, then in one single mistake of not writing down the settings for the tranny, it was all gone. Now I'm back in the 13.4s.

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Gah... I disgust myself. :yuck:

And yes, I'm using the 🤬 Escudo... but I'm now tempted to sell it and use my Impreza instead. I think I'm gunna go cry now.... :(

And yet there's good news to this:

I saved a bunch of money on my car insurance!

...Okay so not really. But you still are a whole second faster than me thusfar. Even WITH the Escudo. :yuck:

The benifets of the Escudo over the WRX is that it has way more Power and Torque and a better power to weight ratio. Its takes alot of horse power to puch a car to 260MPH or at least thats what im corssing the line at. Also ive seen Escudo 400m times in the low 7s.

On my game the Escudo has the best P:W Ratio followed by the Tommy Kaira ZZII. Anyhow these cars wont be faster in the 1000m. They dont have the power.

I understand if you all are wanting to just be diff and try other things but you wont get anything to go faster than the Escudo

look i cant back it up but on my old game file i had a easy sub 7sec in my modded delta S4 with R5's and nos, someone go try it out it is a rocket, but i think it will trail off towards the end due to a lack of power and dunny block aero

Some people want to be different because they want to do what this race is really supposed to be about. Yes, we all know the Escudo is the dominant car, but you can't blame anyone for wanted to test and see how good some of the other 4WD cars are. Who knows, one of these days, we might be dragging one of the cars that the people driving the Escudo didn't test. :sly:

As long as I hold the leading time in the Escudo, then I shall go off any try other cars.

Just to make this clear, I absolutely hate the Escudo, but I know it's superior....I think I might take out one of my dream cars, EVO VIII, won't be a winning time, but I don' t need that so I might as well drag a car I love.

Last night I'll have a comp, so I won't be on everynight, prolly just once before the deadline, good luck to all :) .

:yuck: How are you all getting sub 13s?! I've gotten to a 13.065 and I worked every way I can to get this car to give me a sub 13 and it just isn't going. I'mt making consistent 7.535 0-400s but if I move any part of the tranny even one click away rom the original my time bombs. Evil.... Can't wait to go back to the 0-400.

 FINALLY!!!!

0-400: 7.381
0-1000: 12.931

I'm finally within your alls seconds range so I'm content for now. But I think I'm gunna be sick... I haven't changed my tranny setup at all. :yuck:

Just to add my own opinion on preferred car, I'd rather be running a 3000GT MR or the RS200 or the Skyline M-spec Nur, just because thats the only skyline I really have any respect for as a race car in GT4.

I started with the Evo VIII but couldn't even get close to a decent time - that's why I switched to the Tommy Kaira.

Would you mind if I posted a 7.9 second replay of a 3000GT here..its 400meter though..so I thought I'd ask before working.

Go right ahead. It'd be great if the file wasn't a max drive file but I'm guessing it will be anyway, but I'd like to see a 3000GT do a 7.9

Well I don't have a replay of the 7.9 but heres a couple good ones.
]1000 meter sprints(2 vids)[/SIZE]

I feel stupid for not saving the 7.900 but I have a few that are like 7.935 and stuff. I'll post them tonight..BTW

sweet vids rat. I like the 13.009 Escudo, was watching it for where the shifts were being done.

No improvement here. I haven't really been runing it since I got my high 12.

I want a 12 second run so bad...the 3000GT is very impressive though..it was still accelerating qucker than the Escudo around the 900meter mark

Getting a 12 second run is ALL shifting. My sub 13 run was done using the same tranny settings as all my low 13 runs. 12.9 was about as perfect as I could get it.

12.994
12.994
12.994!!!!!! I did it..sub 13seconder!!!!!
Please update my time
