Heh, could be. :D That's one reason I suggested NoScript, though, as it will allow you to specifically block Javascript (keep in mind this is Javascript, not Java) only on GTPlanet.
 
I don't know if this is a bug and should be posted in the bug thread but it seems that sometimes when I edit a post and want to preview this post, it suddenly disappears and I have to start all over again. And I just reported a double post of mine, which I didn't make because it wasn't there before. And a post I made in a thread is missing. Maybe it was removed by the mods because this post didn't add anything but than again, in that case half of the posts on GTP should be removed.
 
More on the topic of posts (dis)appearing, I'm quite sure this isn't related to GTPX as such but to another issue... but still. Perhaps something could be done to it?

Because there are, what should I call them, deleted posts that aren't actually deleted, in the thread. They take the total post count beyond 3600 which means 181 pages but we can only see 3585 posts which means 180 pages and that's as far as we can go.

I'm not sure why either of those would occur for you, and I can't recreate either issue. :confused: What OS/browser are you using?

I recall doing some work on that thread to get the post numbers accurate again. I don't see 181 pages, what exactly is the problem?

When I look at the thread I can see 3585 replies, my own latest post being post #3586. However, when hovering the mouse over the link that would take me to page 181 I get a hover text saying "Show results 3,601 to 3,605 of 3,605" which at least to me looks like there are 19 hidden posts in there that are throwing the overall page count out ot tune. The actual post numbers run from #1 to #3586 just as they should. It's not a major issue but certainly one that can puzzle people as there's seemingly a page that can't be entered.

Well, all is working fine with Windows 7 / Firefox 3.6.7. Try upgrading to the latest version and see if that fixes your problem.

Oh, OK, I see. I understand why that's happening, but it's a bug in vBulletin that I'm not going to be able fix right now. Maybe it will be cleared up in a future version.
 
I just wanted to mention that I've really become fond of the feature where you hover over a topic that is partially listed and a dialog box comes up and fills in the rest. Thanks Jordan! Now I expect it on all the other forums I'm on and it's not there 💡

No, it was Soulpanic. The first batch of users were the most active in the MSN community, who had to come here when I closed down the forums there.

The first post/thread was made by me, here (though it's quite unceremonious!).
 
  is code for a blank space in HTML. It was erroneously inserted in a lot of posts when I converted the original forum software to vBulletin, so posts made before the switch may contain it.
 
Please tell me wear the search button is (again). I goofily started a new thread despite a thread already existing (sorry!)!

NEVERMIND - My eyes majically noticed the button now!

I probably shouldn't race today-too tired!

I am actually really glad that you have gone to the effort of asking where it is. Most people dont use it (they should), let alone search for it, let alone ask for where it is, you need a medal!
 
Hey Jordan, are you planning on bringing back GTP Lite for GTPX? Or has it been completely replaced by GTP Mobile? Reason I'm asking is, I often ran out of internet quota by the end of the month, and browsing gets painfully slow at times (though still faster than most other websites, if not fastest). I'd use GTP Mobile, but it's too plain for browsing on the PC. GTP Lite is like a nice middle ground between X and Mobile.

Anyway, that's just a suggestion from me. The site is perfect as it is. Keep up the good work! :)👍

Edit: BTW, I've been wanting to ask this for a long time, but do you have screenshots of the main forum page of every iteration of GTP? I only joined back in 2006, so I've only been through 3 (maybe 4) iterations of the site. Would be interesting to see how far we've come!

If Lite isn't an option, one possible alternative is to not load avatars/sigs/images. Granted removing sigs won't amount to much. Go into Edit Options and halfway down are the check boxes to allow/disallow the images.

Ah yes. I forgot about those options. But having a skin chooser would make it easier and faster to change since we can do it from any page, anytime. This is good enough though. Thanks 👍

No, GTP Lite was "lite" in aesthetics only, and would consume no less bandwidth than GTPX. Granted, there is probably 4 or 5 KB more of CSS files to download in GTPX on your first page load (on an empty cache), but that's minuscule and you don't have to pull it over your 'net connection again (the same goes with the images).
 
I see. I thought it goes deeper than that. Thanks anyway though :) I guess I'll just use Mobile when I ran out of quota then.
