Ah, forgot to tell you guys my next lesson (CLAIT) is this Thursday. No chicks yet, everyone is too old. :ouch:

Good to hear you got on ok. I was going to ask if there was any fine older women there.

I don't think I'm going to do any study out of high school. I don't really think I'm doing anything that needs it.

I second that... 👍

By the way, if a hot girl does ask you how old you are, you're 16 (or 18!), right? ;)

Well, I look kind of 16 anyway, so I don't think it matters! :D

Believe me, it does! I told a girl I was 15 once (I was, but she thought I was older)... and that was the end of that. Infact, CCTV footage later confirmed that she ran the first 100 metres in 9.76 seconds... that's a world record  :sly:

Good luck G.T.

I just quit 6th form lol, too much of ajump from GCSE's for me to handle, so im off to get a job next week.

James is a college student!

I wa abit confused when you said you were going to college, I was sure you weren't older than me :D

Good luck, enjoy 👍

What subjects were you doing?

Im finding plumbing too easy and im surronded by a bunch of idiots. Im now actually thinking of doing a-levels instead because I wont be able to handle it if everyone is as dim witted in the construction industry as my class mates.

ahh i took CLAIT (good job they put the And in  ) easy it was too, i couldnt be bothered with doing 4 A levels :D college is a blast tho

Yeah, well, I'm going to my CLAIT lesson in 30 mins, and everyone said it was easy (it's level 1 too, G-D GCSE). I think it may be too easy, but I'll see.

Also, if it is, my parents wont let me change to a harder course, but again I'll see.

Well you did take a vocational course... You can't expect geniuses in there.

If you want to do construction and be challenged do it via A-level. (Or do civil engineering.)

Im just going to slug it out for the next two years till im a fully qualified plumber and then if I dont like it i'll still be 19 and young enough to do something challenging.

Slug it out - then set up your own business as a plumber - the world is crying out for plumbers, really, you'll earn a fortune.

You could emigrate to austrailia or canada so easily as a qualified, self employed plumber - more so than if you were an engineer!

I'm even half tempted to re-qualify as one and i'm a senior manager!

I'd be suspicious on entering a trade that has been so well publicised at having a shortage. It just seems that by the time you qualify, the business will be flooded :dopey:

*No pun intended*

well once your a plumber you can do another year to become a gas man or go onto university. So even if the trade does get flooded you can go on to higher things from there.

Wow. Good luck, G.T! I hope you can still find time to hang out at gtplanet. :)

Why, of course! :D

Well, my CLAIT lesson was average. I went through a lot of fuss at first (wasn't in register, no student card when I'm supposed to have it, couldn't log in...). Also, there were quite alot of teenagers in class too which put me more on edge. Other than that everything was fine. :)

What kind of things are involved in the CLAIT course? I searched a bit but found a few different levels of course and didn't know which one you were doing.

What type of assessment is it? Continual throughout the course, a final exam or a bit of both?

I'm not to sure. I know the course goes on for 22 weeks, but I do not know if there is an exam at the end of it.

I'm dong the basic CLAIT course (Level 1), which, at the moment, involves the basic functions of MS Word, like tabs, margin sizes ect. In fact I thought this would be too easy for me, but I didn't know some of this!

Cool, sounds quite similar to something I had to do when I was on my chemistry course. At that time I was surprised just how much of Excel I didn't know about, despite having used it for numerous assignments. I suppose if I did a course on Word I'd be surprised how much of that I was missing out on too
