I purchased SuSE Linux, and, after much drama, got it fully working in a dual boot with Windows. It has web browsers (Konqueror), OpenOffice, a couple games, etc. Is there any "must-have" programs, or anything else I should download for it?

This is the problem with Linux. If you don't know exactly what you want, good luck. Programs tend to only to one, very specific thing, and are extremely difficult to install for new users. So, is there anything you need to do, or did you just want Linux because?

Why did you buy it? 56k? You can downlaod the .iso's for free. I downlaoded all four of my ISO's

Only thing about installing software that a n00b might fear are the dependencies and or package conflicts. Compiling and install packages are easy. But for a n00b id recommend debian for the easy software installer. If you want software try kde-apps.com, freshmeat.net, and sourceforge.net

Debian is nice cuz of its easy software installer but the installion of the distro isnt so easy from what I hear.

I think you're asking the wrong group. But whatever.

I strongly suggest joining a bunch of Linux user groups and expressing your possition. There are lots of guys out there who will help you, hold your hand if you will, through all kinds of software installs and how-tos.

Have fun! The more you use it the more you'll learn.

Ok, thanks. I guess I'll start looking on Linux sites, but I just like asking on GTP because I know more people here, and I know what the general attitude of most members is.
