Ha ha ha, you guys are silly (: And I would say this extends much further than GTP, or any web forum. It's part of life. You have to be a substantial part of a group before the group recognizes your opinion.

Don't take a new job and imediately start suggesting things that need to be changed. And by no means don't move into a neighborhood and start telling the neighbors how to handle their yards.

Don't worry. I will just pretend this never happened, as you were just learning a small GTP lesson. I don't hate anyone, regardless if anyone doesn't like me. I prefer to be less worried about Spam, etc and let the Mods deal with it, otherwise things like beforehand occur.

Well, I've got to carve my own niche, right? I'm still figuring out the little curiosities of the site, particularly these spectacular forums. Hopefully I'll come out as someone who doesn't like to be pushed around but who's smart enough to let 'em push once in a while, instead of an ignorant bastard who puts cotton in his ears before he enters the forums...

Yeah but if you've been in the neighbourhood the equivalent of a few months or so, can't you adopt the persona of the old grumpy pr*ck who lives in the house with the overgrown lawn and peeling paint, who yells at the kids to stop playing in front of his house and calls the police when his neighbours play their music too loud? I say the same thing. Have for years (AH! scary thought). And I like to think that the vast majority of my posts are quality, at least in the sense that someone gets something out of it. I also find it interesting that I catch flack over a thread whos opening post has over a paragraph of original text, plus a quote of an entire song's lyrics, simply because the topic is that I've made it back to the top 20 most postarific members. All that means is that I'm very active. The numbers don't actually mean anything to me.

But every once-in-a-while it's nice to just cut up and ramble on about silly things. Toilet paper? Coke? Slashdot? I don't get trounced for rediculous threads like that (and many, many more).

Ah the days of the first page. Yes I used to be their once. Then my job took that all away from me. Now I sit close to the bottom of the second page, but with posts like this, who knows what lies ahead for me.

No, I'm only on page 7 because I haven't gone on a spamming spree. I make sure what I contribute to threads is relavent to the topic at hand. Post count means nothing to me(most of the time... seeing as how I'm nearing ever closer to 2,000 posts).

This thread seems to have a bit of a war in the middle of it but I'll stay 'on-topic' if that's what you can call it in one of these threads...I think Eagle will be up very high very soon...But again I don't think respect should be gained by postcount, but somehow it's innevitable as unless you have a fairly frequent rate of posting noone will know who you are.

Yup. But at the same time if you're not posting anything worth reading then no one will like you either. It's more than just being known, it's being liked and accepted.

No way, the GT3 and "preliminary-GT4-chatter" forums go down with that ship. This place will be GTContinent, not GTPlanet, if GT1/GT2 get the adios. Besides, I'll probably have to give back my avatar rights, if GT2 gets dumped. :)

But for now, I seem to be floating somewhere on page 3, in the 60-70 range for the past 18 months now. Eventually, someone gives in, gets banned, or realizes we're tired of their crap, and leaves for good.
 
i think my 3 week deployment to the hurricanes has set me back. I see now that there are newer members that are ahead of me. Drat! [villian voice]i must find a way to stop them[/villian voice]

@LoudMusic I never said being known was all their was to it. But think of it this way, if noone knows you, how can anyone respect you?
 
I haven't posted junk. I never really have, apart from when I very first came here and went to the Test Forum occasionally. I stopped that almost straight away, and now I stay in 3 Forums. I go to this one for a bit of relief from thinking too hard about topics.

I seem to have moved up quickly since coming here anyway.
 
Hi people. now while most of you think of me as new, i'm not. I've been around since april of 02.( The irony is that ALOT of the people that joined after I did have higher posts counts than me.) But thanks to this thread, and LoudMusic, i am going to change all of that. Most of you will se my post count shoot up considerably over the next couple of months, and i wont be surprised to find my self quite a few pages up by then. i will try to get a couple of posts in everyday, instead of being a lurker that justs sits around and reads everyone else's posts.
 
There's nothing wrong with lurking the forums and reading information. But to have you post some inciteful stuff will be great. 👍 Welcome back...to posting...:lol:!
