Scooby-dooby-doo!

Ok Gentlemen, welcome to the 12th race of the Weekly Endurance Series.
This should be an interesting event, with a roller-coastering track and a car that loves to go sideways at the drop of a hat.

The track in question is the beautiful Autumn Ring full course. And the car matched to it is ANY of the cars detailed in the graphic below!
We will be running in the forwards direction as this is the most fun to drive, and is still a very technical track this way round.
This will be quite a challenging race, as in my testing the AI just romp away, from the start. So be prepared for some blood and guts on the field of glory!
Oh yeah, most of the title photo's are my own handy-work, hope you like them?
I will always welcome contributions that may match a suggested combo!
And sorry for the delay, you know why!

Midnight GMT SUNDAY night, MARCH 2nd

BUT, if the option to use ANY of the cars detailed above leads to you wanting an extension, I am more than willing to accommodate!

RULES:

You must use the settings laid out above at all times.
You must try to keep 2 wheels on the track at all times.
An occasional off is to be expected, but use your judgement and morals to decide if you have gained from it or not. If you have gained, or feel that you have taken an advantage from the off, then please bin the race and re-start.
A.I. contact is allowed, but NO penalties are allowed.
Slight bumps into walls/barriers that DO NOT pull a penalty are allowed.
All podium times will be verified by the posting of either a replay or a photo of the screen showing your final time AFTER the deadline is past.
Any suspicious times will be investigated by either myself or where appropriate an NTSC user of my choice.
All decisions of the Administrator (me) are final, any cheating of any kind what so ever, will be dealt with in the appropriate manor.
You may discuss any splits or individual lap times, just not your final times.

Times should be sent to myself (Tyre King) via PM by the above deadline, as marked by the GTPlanet PM system time stamp.
Replays and screen shots should be posted in this thread after that time has passed, if asked for by myself or just if you want to.

Time sending format:

Name :
Car used: Please be exact!
Total Race time:
Race Fastest lap:
Pitting strategy : Please be specific!

As there was only myself and Delfino who actually had any times for this race, the results are simple!

Delfino wins, I came second. But I got the fastest lap by 0.015 of a second.

So,
Delfino gets 12 pts (10 + 2)
Tyre King gets 12 pts (9 + 3)

I'll update the leaderboard when I get a chance!

Neil

Good one Neil, love the settings, I'll be able to complete this one. Just couldn't get the hang of Tokyo reverse with soo much power , basically I just loathe that course, my absolute alltime least favorite course.

So Neil, Mon is the outside G-Day (Grace for those that didn't know) I'm sure all 3 of you will be releived...I know Cathy and I will :) Keep us posted daddy .

Yeah Monday 3rd at the latest! Basically, as long as Anne doesn't go into labour before then, she goes in at 11am, gets the spinal between 1 & 2pm and is into theatre ASAP after it takes effect.
So, by 3pm-ish, I should be a very proud daddy.
Anne's already told me she will be sick and tired of me being there by 7pm, so I will be going out to the pub to wet the baby's head on the night!

To that end, I will have next weeks thread ready for Sunday night, and have the results done straight away too.
So, no late submissions please guys! Big day the day after! :)

Nice combo, very addictive. It's hard to pace myself to save tires to last 7 laps :-)
Got one race finished, I can see another 20-30 seconds being available. Best lap in mid 1.26s

I hit a 1'25, but only once, and im burning my tyres by lap 6.

Its going to be a long time spent in the pits i think.

Neil, the weight is wrong after conversion. :dopey:

You must have been distracted or something.

It is the Type R we're using isnt it?

Where can i get some different coloured wheels?

They look all wrong with a white car.
And where is the brake on this car?

Good luck all

:irked:👍

Right you are David, sorry! My bad! (Head's not running on all cylinders at the moment)

Important Announcement!

I have changed the specs for the car requirement, to include ALL of the Subaru cars giving 276 Hp in the selection screen, but adjusted all the power figures to give 4.69~ kg:Hp!

I realised that, not only are the names of the cars SO complicated as to be confusing (Believe me, I know, I just had to type them all up for the graphic), but also that some people may not have all of the multitudinous variants.

Also, as I have now included ALL of those variants @ 276 Hp in the selection screen, there is an option for an extension to the deadline if you guys want to race multiple cars.

Neil

Obviously my head is REALLY battered at the moment. Because I thought, stupidly, that the figure given in the selection screen would be right! :dunce:
However, that is not the case!

So I have adjusted the power to weight ratios of all the cars to approximately 4.69 Kg/Hp or 0.213 hp/Kg (whichever you prefer)

Most are around the 270-ish Hp level, but the lighter WRX versions are around the 240Hp level.

Another lesson learned! :guilty:
And my apologies to anyone who has spent time getting a full race in! Sorry guys!

Neil

Oh man, AI traffic is killing me. I have to drive really weird lines for the first 7 laps so I don't get hammered under braking.
Another good race was ruined by a spinning Viper :-)
Running low 1.26s still sticking to 4 stop strategy

Del will be using the 22B .. EDIT .. though he may change his mind and use the SPEC C O4'

I'm using the Spec C '04 too!

It's nice and torque-y!

But I have to say that some of the lighter WRX STi cars are an attractive proposition.

Fighting for track space is the order of the day this race, And I said as much in the first brief.

Neil

Youve got me testing Subarus Neil :irked: also tempted to drive the 99' STI which was an old car of mine in RL .

Really want to get into the 98' Coupe though , but do you think i can find one to buy ?:grumpy::indiff::mad::boggled:

ps .. the Spec C corners like a brick but has dooby doo acceleration the 22B is a slug in comparison but is much smoother through the corners = C Spec still about 1 second faster per lap .

EDIT : Times sent , average lap 1.25.8xx or thereabouts .. 5 stops {used the c spec 04}

As a previous owner of two WRX's and two STI's .. i have to say that PD really stuffed up with the handling physics of the Subarus .. a 22B {let alone most of the STI's} certainly does not wear its front tyres as fast as PD thinks .. and of course none of the Subarus sound remotely anywhere near the same . Bring on GT5 with lots of 'goodies' .

Results posted! For what they are worth! :indiff:

I meant to get to this at the weekend, then had one of those weekends where i didnt get anything done that i wanted to do.
Still, at least my mother was happy on sunday.

But my WES career took a downward turn.
Sorry Neil.

I'll see what i can do with the next one.
Nice result though!
Awwwww, she has your hairdo....

Can you say "Ruh roh..."?:guilty:

I would have liked to participated in that round, but was too busy with things around my place to race. Sorry about that.

Also, you still taking suggestions for future WES races? I have a couple floating around in my head.

All suggestions and any matched photos that can be used (with acknowledgements) for the main post, are not only welcome, but actively encouraged.
