It’s a 60’s Grunge Thing!

Welcome one and all to race 15 of the Weekly Endurance Series!
I was going to put this combo up for race 14, but the lure of the ‘Ring was too strong for me to resist.
The burning desire for dead-defying cornering has been assuaged for now, so this week we will be taking it a little easier on the speed,
whilst still having the need for good lines and precise braking.

This will also be a 10 day event, so that you can get multiple runs in over the two weekends.
Oh, and big thanks to ERacer (Phil) for this suggestion! 👍
Helped me out of a hole, when the combo I was working on needed more work,
and my sleep deprived brain went completely blank. Cheers Mate!

Midnight GMT SUNDAY night, APRIL 6th

RULES:

You must use the settings laid out above at all times.
You must try to keep 2 wheels on the track at all times.
An occasional off is to be expected, but use your judgement and morals to decide if you have gained from it or not. If you have gained, or feel that you have taken an advantage from the off, then please bin the race and re-start.
A.I. contact is allowed, but NO penalties are allowed.
Slight bumps into walls/barriers that DO NOT pull a penalty are allowed.
All podium times will be verified by the posting of either a replay or a photo of the screen showing your final time AFTER the deadline is past.
Any suspicious times will be investigated by either myself or where appropriate an NTSC user of my choice.
All decisions of the Administrator (me) are final, any cheating of any kind what so ever, will be dealt with in the appropriate manor.
You may discuss any splits or individual lap times, just not your final times.

Times should be sent to myself (Tyre King) via PM by the above deadline, as marked by the GTPlanet PM system time stamp.
Replays and screen shots should be posted in this thread after that time has passed, if asked for by myself or just if you want to.

Do you always look this relaxed NEIL ? .. your bub looks like you btw .

Ha Ha!

Thanks at least for the 'slightly' David!
Neil

Well i didnt want to get kicked off the series Neil.

:trouble:👍

1st post's up and running guys!

Title picture to follow ASAP.
Neil

Just changed power and weight settings to:

+3% power @ 255
-10% weight @ 1233

Neil

Neil, did you mean this combo:

Track: Seattle Circuit (Reverse)
Make: American > Chevrolet
Model: Corvette Stingray L46 350 '69
HP: +20 (421Hp)
Wgt: -10 (1,341 Kg)
Tires: Sports Soft (SS)

AI= +10 difficulty & Medium Tires

That's the combo I had suggested awhile back.

ERacer

Sorry, my bad!

It is the '63 Stingray, called the Chevrolet Corvette Coupe (C2) '63 in the bottom line but called the Corvette Stingray in the top corner.

All I got wrong was the date, the name, missed the car shape out........

Sorry guys! Honestly, I am! I feel like I'm letting you all down by making silly mistakes when setting the races. :guilty:

And Phil, HERE is your suggestion for this race, that I think confused me a little.

I'll edit the main post to reflect the correct car details, and all I can do is ask for your understanding.

Neil

Thanks Neil. Looks like I messed ya up there a bit. My apologies. Ok, it's off to Seattle then 👍

p.s. how's Anne and little Grace? Yourself? Up late I see, huh? Hope all is well.

Phil

Oh hell yeah! I think I'm gonna stomp you guys. I've got an Unaided hot rod at a track I absolutely love. Remember the last time I was here, Neil?:sly:

Ok i ran this one today.
:yuck:
I didnt like it.
:yuck:
The car didnt want to go.
:yuck:
Or stop.
:yuck:
And giving us longer than a week was a good plan Neil, but 10 days just isnt enough time to change gear in this thing.
:yuck:
Still, after much swearing and muttering comments under my breath about american suspension, I've done a time, and i'm submitting.
Good luck to everyone else and let me know if you find "patience in a bottle" anywhere, cos i could use some.

:irked:👍

Results posted, for what they are worth! Only 2 entries, but at least the points are even!

Must have been an unpopular combo? Must try harder! :guilty:

Neil

Who won?

Anyone gimme a clue on that one?

A minute faster than me is impressive, i drove my arse off.
Mustve pitted too many times :dopey:
Either way I'd like to know who it was.

Please?

:irked:👍

@VEXD - I pitted twice which cut out about 30 secs from final time. I saved more time by shifting gears sparingly, keeping the 'Vette in 2nd gear as much as possible. The lesson here, for me, was not to use a heavy foot on the gas and brakes and simply maintain an even, smooth pace. It's a lesson which has taken me a long time to accept ;)

ERacer

Ahhhh, so it was you!

Well done ERacer

Shame no-one else contributed here, i think GT5P has something to do with it.

Ive played it, and i wouldnt go back, given the choice.

But i dont have the choice, so its GT4 FTW! for me

Anyway, good stuff, i can see where you gained 30 seconds, as for the other 30, you just drove better.

:trouble:👍
