Hope this is in the right forum. I cant seem to get the 3d-effect to work with glasses that came with the tv. what glasses to use to get the right effect ? Help ?

It would likely help a bit to know what make and model the TV is. ;)

My tv is samsung, and my glasses (active shutter glasses) are also samsung. Doesnt work at all in gran turismos own 3d-mode, and the effect on tv`s own 3d-mode is barely visible.

From what I've seen some other people say... When you first hook up the PS3 to a 3D tv you need to reset the output settings on the PS3. Run through the output configuration real quick and it should detect things correctly.

Ok, I will try that. Thanks !

My Sony TV had a setup routine to go through to enable the sync transmitter, then in the PS3 we reconfigured the display settings, manually switching on 3D support, then declaring the size of the TV.

I was so unimpressed with the 3D in GT5 that I switched it off. Yes, the results sheet hangs in free space, but the driving experience was all but unchanged for me. Playing Killzone 3 in 3D, on the other hand, is utterly mind-blowing.

did you use the TV's own 3D button for GT5's 3D setting?
because ive got a sony 3D TV as well and the results are completely different, just get quite a bit of overlap of images with GT5's setting but you have to adjust the settings for it!! But id have to agree with you on Killzone...i played that demo thing and i was like ...might be getting the full game in the near future now that i have Playstation Move as well!

The TV detects the 3D signal, and there's an observable difference in the way that the menus and lists float over the track view, but I just didn't get a feeling that it improved the gameplay at all. I guess I need to have a mess about with the settings to try to exaggerate the 3D effect a little. I can imagine it's the sort of thing that KY would try to avoid overplaying, and in so doing would completely underplay.

Yeah, stop talking about it and get it done! Also, pick up Wipeout HD from the PSN store (ha ha, yeah, I know, in July or sometime whenever they sort out their terrible security model). It's 3d-enabled, and it's pretty damn cool as a result.
