Thing with the M8 and M4 DTM, once again, those cars are old. It'd be like adding the 2011 Vantage GT3 and the current GT-R GT3. I wouldn't mind having the M8 and M4 DTM. Bring them. However, that's one of the problems with PD releasing games. By the time the game comes out, the cars are a generation or two behind.

The brand new M4 GT3, at least gives players a new car to choose. Similar to how we got the 2017 R35 GT-Rs on game debut. Up to date cars, literally, make the game fresh for users. I'd rather see as many 2020 race cars as they can get, before seeing older gen race cars.

Agreed, along with the McLaren Speedtail and the non-GTR version of the P1. I'd also add in the Ferrari 488, as well as the FF and F12berlinetta - and/or their respective successors, the GTC4 Lusso and 812 Superfast.

I want to see more of the 70's Can-am series cars, those cars were absolutely cutting-edge back in the day, often even outpacing F1 laptimes - yet they are criminally overlooked, if not flat out ignored in todays racing games. Given their extreme popularity and their important place in motorsports history that's just mind boggling.

The legendary McLaren M8f for example

I got some other popular cars that could be interesting too based on how many reviews they got on Youtube and Magazines and also because they are quite affordable and many people have them.

- Affordable Sports Cars:
1. VW GLI MK5, MK6 or MK7
2. Honda Civic SI (8th and 10th gen)
3. Subaru WRX (VA)
4. Mazdaspeed 3 (1st or 2nd gen)
5. John Works Mini Cooper S (F55/56/57)

Luxury Sports Cars:
1. Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio
2. BMW M5 (E39, F10 and F90)
3. Mercedes E63 AMG (W213)

And many more...

No E60 V10 M5?

There are many many cars that deserve their place within Gran Turismo, and just to name a few...

Briggs Cunningham 1950 Le Man's racer 'Le Monstre', built on top of a cadillac chassis to comply with regulations.

Super weird and quirky, and some interesting motorsport history to go with it. It's right up GT's alley.

'The French called this car “Le Monstre.” As Le Mans rules permitted rebodying of standard automobiles, this aberrant look represented an attempt to reduce both weight and wind resistance. Briggs Cunningham had decided to hedge his two-Cadillac bet for Le Mans, streamlining this car to render it more competitive, while leaving the other alone in case the aerodynamic experiment failed.

Both Series 61 Cadillacs were prepared for the race at Frick-Tappett Motors. The Colliers’ coupe received twin carburetor manifolding by Frank Burrell, air scoops for the brake drums and an extra gas tank for the trunk. Otherwise, that car was essentially showroom stock.

Underneath so was Le Monstre, although its body was so extraordinary that Le Mans officials spent hours in examination to assure themselves that the chassis was standard Cadillac. Standard, too, was the engine, except for a five carburetor induction system and some fine tuning.

A Grumman engineer on Long Island had contributed the body design. The scale model was tested in a wind tunnel normally used for evaluating crop dusters and other slow flying airplanes. Aircraft influence in the car extended to inclusion of a tubular “crash frame.” Notwithstanding its barge-like appearance, the Cadillac Le Monstre measured three inches narrower than the Cadillac Petit Pataud. With top speed of 130 mph, it was some 13 mph faster than its teammate.

Despite its theoretical advantages, the Cunningham-Walters Le Monstre finished 11th to the Collier brothers’ 10th. Although Briggs had pooh-poohed Miles Collier’s suggestion that a shovel be carried as onboard equipment, he doubtless rued that decision after slamming into a sandbank and laboriously digging Le Monstre out by hand. The time was lost there, and the subsequent loss of all but high gear, prevented this car from realizing its potential.'

PD surprised us with the 1971 300SEL AMG. We've got five cars from 1971, but only the one is a race car. To compliment the two cars above, bringing back the 1971 Skyline RM, like the one below, makes for more choices in this era. A completely new model to GT7.

Add a '71 Alfa, 911 and 2002 tii to complete the set.

From the history of GT games the car list contains a great variety of nice cars that i want it back. An other great reference list is from Forza titles (both Horizon and Motorsport) that PD can to enlist for the GT7 as DLC content.

BMW M8 Prototype.

Yes Please
I think I'd much rather have the 850CSi and then have the newer M8 - and not the M8 Competition, either. I don't want a repeat of the situation we currently have with the Lamborghini Miura, where we only have a prototype that costs far more than any of the respective production variants. Now, I'm hoping we'll get something like the Miura SV in the next title as a much more affordable version of the Miura compared to the prototype, but as for the BMW E31, I'd like to have the 850CSi first before the M8 Prototype is added.

When it comes to "unicorn cars," I'd really rather have truly unique/rare cars, like the Ferrari 330 P4, and not simply rare variants of other cars like the Lamborghini Miura or BMW E31. At least, I would hope that if we had to have rare variants of a certain model, it'd appear alongside a relatively more common version. A good example of this would be how in GT4, we had the BMW M3 (E46), the BMW M3 (E46) CSL, and the BMW M3 (E46) GTR alongside each other, versus only being allowed to buy one of those latter two variants. Note that in GT6, the M3 (E46) CSL costs over 1.5 times as the typical M3 (E46), and the M3 (E46) GTR costs over four times as much as the typical M3 (E46). Nevertheless, I hope the other two road-going M3 (E46) variants will return to GT someday, alongside the ALMS race car that was in prior GT games.

In a similar vein, not only do I hope we get the Lamborghini Miura P400SV in the next title, but also other "relatively common" models, like the McLaren P1, whereas we only have the P1 GTR in GT Sport. But like I said, I would ideally hope for more scenarios like we saw with the BMW M3 (E46) in GT4, where we have multiple options in the future. In this regard, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing the BMW M4 (F82) GTS being added in the next game.

I always thought PC2 had a very unique list of vehicles, very race orientated almost vintage historical that PD should also adopt in GT7. For example:
I agree, the car list of PC2 was excellent, I just wish the same could be said about their handling and FFB. But I digress.

This.
Plus SE030 Jota and VT 6.0 2001.
I'd be content with just the Diablo SV - either before or after the facelift - since we already have the Diablo GT and Diablo GT2. I think those latter two are based on the post-facelifted version, so the pre-facelift Diablo SV would be nice, if only to have a different Diablo. I also hope we get a premium version of the Diablo GT1 racecar that raced in JGTC GT500.

On that note, I still wonder where JGTC GT500 cars would fit into the current group list. We know that modern Super GT500 cars go into Gr.2, and that GT1 cars previously raced alongside JGTC GT500 cars, albeit not very well. We also know that various GT1 cars fit into Gr.3, such as the Aston Martin DBR9.

Speaking of which, I think it's very likely that Super GT300/JGTC GT300 cars would go into Gr.3, as they often race alongside FIA GT3 cars in real life, and the made-for-game Gr.3 variants of the Subaru WRX STI and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X have bodykits with a striking resemblance to GT300 cars.

But I digress. As for GT300 cars, I'd ideally like all premium GT300 cars to return from the prior GT games, such as the Subaru BRZ R&D Sport, the Lexus IS350, Mazda RX-7, and the ASL Garaiya. Of course, I could see some cars not making it, like the various "standard" models that were in GT300, but I could see them being replaced with more contemporary models. I am also quite sure a somewhat older Prius GT300 was getting looked at by Polyphony Digital, so that could be fun. I also don't know if it'd be necessary to bring back the 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI GT300, as we could potentially have both the BRZ GT300 and the Gr.3 WRX STI, though I'd personally like it if only to have an older WRX STI model in GT300.

EDIT: I also hope that if we do get any more made-for-game race cars, it allows for more automakers to compete in the Manufacturers Series, just like we can currently see in GT Sport with many of the automakers there. I could see Mini being one example of a future addition to the Manufacturers Series. This is before we consider other automakers with appropriate real-world race cars insofar they could use those models to compete in the Manufacturers Series, such as Bentley, Maserati, and KTM. For Bentley, I believe there are both GT3 and GT4 versions of the Continental. (Though if there really isn't a Continental GT4, PD might be able to create one, like they've done for many of the other Gr.4 cars we currently have.) Then for Maserati, their Gr.3 options could come in the form of the GranTurismo GT3 or the GT1 MC12 Corsa, while there is also a GranTurismo GT4 that could be used. Finally, for KTM, there's the X-Bow GT4 and the upcoming GTX.

The Beast of Turin, mainly owing to it sounding like Satan gargling lava when starting up.
How about we compromise and have PD bring back both Jay Leno cars? I'd say the Tank Car is pretty similar to what you're posting, at least at a glance. Though that Beast of Turin could be fun, too.

This isn't the thread for that.
Ah, my mistake. My mind must've gotten off-track. But to be more on-topic, I hope we get more GT1 cars that would fit into Gr.3, like the Saleen S7-R or the Maserati MC12 Corsa I mentioned earlier. I think Callaway and Koenigsegg even had some un-raced GT1 cars that could also fit into Gr.3. Yeah, that could be great for the Manufacturers Series. And then I recall that Alpine and Abarth both had GT4 cars, so if PD made up some Gr.3-spec cars for those two, we could see those brands join the Manufacturers Series as well.
