What are you afraid of?

Drowning:nervous:

I am scared as hell of drowning. I dont mind a jon boat on a pond . When i went to florida last year my woman had this idea of watching dolphins right of the coast of panama city .I think i was the only one sitting behind the cabin of the boat. She said i looked like i was going to start crying. :( :(

Ok lets see.

hights (I can ride rollercoasters, but it scares the hell out of me to climb up a ladder.)

spiders (I don't care what kind it is. If its got 8 legs and looks remotely like a spider, im out of the room.)

the emergency broadcast system (I have no clue why this scares me, but it just does. I remember about 2 years ago, I was watching TV and the emergency broadcast system test thing came on and I was almost in tears it scared me so much. :()

My wife would have a good laugh watching me freak out while trying to kill them in creative ways from a distance, usually by throwing things at them, like shoes. [...]

You're not alone. One of the things I dislike about them is they just move way too fast for my liking, and the bigger they are the larger the space I put between me and them.

Funny you should mention the fear of seeing other people fall, it frightens me quite a bit as well. My house has a balcony over the garage, once when me and this girl I used to see went up there she sat on the railing at one corner, I was seriously trying to get her to come down from there.

Spiders I love watching on the TV, or (if I'm far enough from them) outside as well. I admire their skill for gathering food and their way of surviving, but I don't like them on me really.

Well I do have quite the fear of spiders as well. Watching them on T.V. or something like that isn't bad in the least, but I couldn't handle them crawling on me.

Spiders
Heights

I hate spiders I kill everyone I see.

Not so much heights anymore, Ive over come that and I even went on the 400+ Ft rollercoaster.

My phobia is that free from everything feeling. Since I race, when i was 8 I was the test dummy and I launched the lip and landed like 6 feet from the landing headfirst. I hit so hard that there was dust all over my glasses. It scared the s*** out of me though. I hit it again after about an hour. But I may have conquered it this past weekend by jumping this 27 foot triple. :) Oh well... I've gone on long enough. I also feel like I'm going to fall when I stand on the edge of a ledge. ...

im not all afraid of heights at all... and to prove that i went on the BIG shot on the stratosphere tower in las vegas man was it awesome... however i DID get scared of heights not on the ride... but when you're inside the stratoshpere looking out the glass that is REALLY scary because the glass is tilted in a way so you can look down and what makes it worse is you feel the top of the tower shaking because of the roller coasters above you. so if you're scared of heights this is a definate place not to go to...

just looking at it from the bottom to the top can get you dizzy and scared :(

HORSEFLIES.

They have to be one of the most satanic insects on the earth. Every time i see/hear one i think of the devil. If you don't know what they are, they're freakishly oversized flies that want blood more than mosquitos. And they hurt like a b****.

Horseflies have mouthparts that function like blades. They use these mouthparts to cut--rather than pierce--through the skin. Then, while your blood oozes out, the horsefly laps it up using its own specially modified version of labellae.

We get lots of stick insects in our neck of the woods, and they're a little creepy to kill.
Why do you kill stick insects? They won't harm anything...

What's kind of weird in my case is that I'm not afraid of insects at all, but I am afraid of arachnids and their kin (I forget specifically what the families are for centipedes, scorpions, and the like).

Even then, there are differences – I'm not scared in any way shape or form by small spiders (I'll even let the jumping spiders crawl on me, because they're interesting to watch), but I absolutely can't stand tarantulas. I'm afraid one day a tarantula will either fall from the ceiling onto my head, or will be on the ground and run up and chase me.

I'm also scared silly of scorpions, even though tthe kind that live around here are small and inflict a sting that isn't much worse than a wasp's. That brings me up to another interesting thing (gawd, this post is stupidly long) – Most of my fears don't seem to be triggered from bad events that have happened to me. I was stung a dozen times by several wasps on a camping trip, and I've been stung by a couple bees, but I don't fear either... in fact, if someone is annoying me with their shrieking by a wasp sitting near their lunch, I'll usually scoot it onto my hand and move it away. But, I'm scared of scorpions and centipedes, despite never having had an encounter with their stingers. I swear though that someday one or the other will fall on my head.

I'm scared of heights... anything connected to the ground. When the WTC was still standing some years ago, I went near the top floor, and when I stood at one of the windows, I was absolutely terrified. Mostly, I was afraid that I'd fall through the glass and plunge to my death. I also get scared by two-story buildings, and the mall. I'm not afraid of heights from things not connected to the ground though, like airplanes.

And, one of my worst fears is of the dark, and of someone breaking into our house at night and killing me (or at least the unpleasant meeting that would ensue if he entered my room with a knife or gun in hand). I'm the kind of person who won't get any sleep all night if I hear one little noise coming from the opposite side of the house, because I'll be afraid that it's someone breaking in.

I dont think this is a phobia, so we'll have to invent a name for it. Im scared that when a girl is playing with my "thumb" she'll bite down, I know its graphic but it keeps me up at night.

Im scared of....
Heights, presenting in school, and spiders.

I used to be necrophobic, now i'm not, when i used to watch them on news.

Necrophobia is the fear of watching dead people.

"Necrophobic can't control the paranoia, scared to die" - Slayer

I have a really bad fear of black widows... they are all over my house and they just pop out of nowhere.
I am also scared of ghosts.. freaky
And roaches, i heard those things go into your ears and have babies in your ears... 0_0

i also have a bad fear of being looking at the ocean at night.. it puts me into a sort of depression.. whats it called?

I'm scared of heights. I can force myself though, but I don't feel comfortable at all. :nervous:

I'm affraid of wasp's and sock puppet's:lol:
Wasp's really scare me, because I know they can kill me. One of my dog's got stung by one in the holiday's, but she's ok.:)

I'm scared chitless of lobsters. I seriously have a phobia of lobsters, no joke. The worst thing would be trapped in a room full of lobsters with realy dark water about three feet high so that you couldn't see them. I would rather die. :yuck:  :yuck:

I won't swim in any body of water that I can not clearly see the bottom. There is nothing worse than swimming in a murky lake and then you get a piece of sea weed or a fish brush up against you.

i hate open fields like farm fields. i hate those because it reminds me of that stupid and bad movie jeepers creepers 2 and 1. it was still some-what scary.

I hate heights unless I'm in some sort of aircraft, and I'm terrified of centipieds. I'm ok with small ones, but when they get in the 4-5 inch range, I freak out. I used to hate boat rides in rough water, but now that I can drive a boat, that fear is pretty much dead.

Honestly, those two are my biggest fears aswell.
