Finally got around to listening to Tacocat's NVM and it's very pleasant and solidly constructed throughout. I'm assuming this city is their native Seattle and that the LP title is inspired by Nirvana (and thus, indirectly, the Sex Pistols).

I can confirm that is indeed Seattle. Not only that, but it’s the Capital Hill neighborhood where I live. I’m only three blocks from this corner, in fact.

It’s the former home of Piecora’s Pizza. My friends and I had many a fine pie there back in the day. They operated from 1982 to 2014. The license tab on that Suzuki is from 2014. Not a coincidence, I think.

Capital Hill is, unfortunately, being gentrified. A lot of the great businesses and buildings that made Cap Hill such a great place to live are disappearing. Which I believe is the point of the video.

More Forza-inspired J-pop, this time from 2012 and Hitomi "Toi" Amano.

I listened to these two, especially Koiwa Omiono Mama ("Love How You Like It") from the game and wanted more so queued up another seven albums. She's like the Japanese Kylie Minogue.



I also hunted down Tokyo Tea Room's Feel Forever and No Rush from @Populuxe's selection.

I recognize the art on this Hitomi Toi album. It’s by Hiroshi Nagai. He did a lot of album covers starting in the ‘80s, and has been a big influence on current Tokyo Pop and Synthwave styles. American cars, swimming pools and beaches are a big part of his signature style. And I’m probably telling you stuff you already know.

I've long given up listening to the radio playlist entries in your posts through lack of time although I did download Action Family's "Diddley Squat" from the Shine On Sweet Starlet soundtrack.

I didn't know. All I know about this album is that it's the soundtrack to a TV program which appears to be similar to Moonlighting but with deeper revenge overtones, judging by the couple of minutes I watched on Dailymotion.

After listening to B.T. Express's cover of "Now That We Found Love" I thought I'd try out Third World's first four albums. They may not have the most stylish artwork but at least they have a unified design concept. The band had a really polished sound even from the beginning and Ibo and Cat's formal music training really comes to the fore.
