My friend Cat is a drummer and has supported Jesus and Mary Chain. She is also technically a former member of Mogwai, as she filled in (pardon the pun) for their regular drummer on tour when he was recovering from surgery.
They did it... they are this week's Official UK #1 album... not bad at all for a small independent label and a band that's been going for 25 years not in the mainstream.
The two songs that immediately come to mind when I see mention of Mogwai are "I'm Jim Morrison, I'm Dead" (because of the name) and "Hunted By A Freak" (because of the video), the latter of which I won't link to (because of the video).
Say, I just got a like from a post featuring an Aztec Camera track ("Working In A Goldmine"), and since you're a Scot, I wonder if you feel any particular way about them and/or Roddy Frame. I think he's one of the tremendous songwriters with whom we've been bestowed.

👍 I preferred the Bonn Scott era by far as AC/DC where far more bluesy back then. Even some of their more rockin' tunes still had a bit of blues influence.
Posted 'Wolf Like Me' by TV On The Radio a little while ago but I just discovered their performance of it on David Letterman and yeah, it's worth posting again.
