I had my first listen to Roger Water's "Dark Side of the Moon Redux" album last night...
When I first heard that Waters was re-recording the entire album, I was pretty disappointed and thought that it was a bad idea. However, the more I thought about it, the more I figured that it was actually a very sound concept - who better to reinterpret one of my favuorite albums of all time than the principal author of the original? And indeed, I can totally understand his reasons for doing so, even though I suspect that there are some other less 'good' reasons for doing it as well.
However, after giving it a spin last night, I think that my original instincts were right. At best, I'd say it was 'interesting' to hear Waters' own reimagining of certain tracks, but by and large it just comes across as lethargic and ultimately unnecessary.
