What Attracts you to GT5?

What attracts me to GT5 is my sheer love for cars. I'm just a gas monkey that loves to be around cars and hearing the cars make me shiver with excitement with the pure adrenaline that it gives me when I can race with people who I can share my knowledge of cars with and have a good time all together. GT5 has made me into the person I am today, and I'll never abandon this series. I've been playing this series since the beginning and I wont ever stop playing them. Even though some cars in GT5 are bad (Autozam aka go kart on wheels), I still find so much pleasure out of it.

So whats your attraction with GT5?

Hybrids.... oh wait.

Hybrids.... oh wait.

I'm glad to see those horrid things leave from the game. They never made the game good, they made it bad for the actual people who truly wanted to race. So now that those pesky hybrids are on their final stage, it's time to get back to what the game truly stands by. Not hacks, but as a brilliant racing game. :)

What attracts me in GT5 is painting my cars. Love seeing my cars in beautiful colours. lol :)

Thats cool :D I gave my Lambo SV a grey on red pearlescent paint, and lemme tell you, it makes the car so pretty. It really makes the car shine. :)👍

oh my god this is the funniest joke i have heard all day.
firstly, it only "made it bad" because you guys can't accept another medium of gameplay (and neither can PD.)
What the game truly stands by? Boring seasonals bombarded with broken as hell penalties. I had more fun playing with hybrids offline or in hybrid lobbies than actually playing the game.
A brilliant racing game. More like a game with a few screws loose from a company with even more screws loose.
And lastly, they are not hacks, they are mods. Get it right.

You probably should take your crying to the hybrid thread.

It's sad that people do illegal things to the game, then they cry and moan when it gets patched.

And your comment about it being a mod. You're completely wrong. What you did with that little program was hacking. You didn't use a company supplied compiler to 'mod' the game. You used a 3rd party program to alter the game passed its intended programming. Illegal.

The more you know......

Anyway, I love racing shuffle races and doing spec league races. Anything that has a chance of a great race. I love it!!

Brilliant racing game.

Anyway, the hybrids made the game good again for me, but now that they're gone GT5 is just an empty shell once again.

good thread

my attraction to this game is because you learn so much about the cars in general

you learn wheather this car monocoque or honeycomb. fiberglass or carbon fiber and who designed etc etc and visit museum

it's all about cars if you take the time and don't let all these small things affect how you enjoy the game

also photography where you capture all those legends on camera

Skylines.

Enough said.

No, its illegal to hack games and try to cheat. You people just suck so bad at racing that it was your last resort to actually earn money in the game. The game series has been around since 1998 and they have always been about racing fairly with cars that we can buy in the real world and or race with. The only reason why you think that using those cars are cool, is only because that its the only thing you can use to win against people. It doesn't take skill to drive and its outright sad.

What attracts me to GT games in general has always been diversity in the cars (although they could do a better job at it), People always complain that there is too many duplicate cars, but I like that there is, Most games usually only offer the top model available for a particular model, but I don't always want the top model it's nice to have a varity of different models for each car.

And the fact the car list isn't full of super/hyper cars, I just don't get the apeal of them, you know it's a fast car, you know it handles well, it's a super car it does what it's suposed to. I find much more fun in taking ordinary daily driver cars and tunning them into track beasts to see what you can get out of them.

*Facepalm*

Hybrid cars arn't all about cheating to get an advantage, Is this all you play the game for? Competition? Everything is about the win? Do you only drive the top tier cars and nothing else to garentee that win?

Because if you wern't aware some people play this game for fun, competitive racing is the last thing on their minds. It's about enjoying cars in a virtual enviroment for me. Not about getting that win.

I agree with you 100%! 👍 There is no excuse for hacking a game that didn't deserve it. I love shuffle races too because it makes it an even match between people who want to have a great time. I normally say clean racing because I hate being used as the brakes in the first turn >_>

Yea true. I mean, I'm meh when it comes to duplicate cars, but then again, I'm glad that there isn't so many super or hyper cars in this game unlike NFS games. I love slow cars because it makes racing soo much fun and really funny, because in some lobbies, people scream stuff like "COME ON YOU PEACE OF CRAP DRIVE!!!!" xD hahaha It's amazing :)

No I just love to push my cars to the limit and see what I can do with them. I love competition, but I don't need fast cars to have a good time. I love slow cars too because it makes it more fun and enjoyable. Well I just think its sad that hybrid cars is the reason why people think it makes the game more "fun." This game was about driving daily and rare cars, not a Diahatsu Midget with an X1 engine going super sonic speeds with the car body going all the way to mars.

The thing that has attracted me to GT5 more has been doing tuning prohibited spec racing in older cars that tend to get overlooked by others.
I did have fun exercising my tuning abilities in some street racing leagues but I find more appeal in driving cars in their stock form.

Oh I agree with that. Most of my cars are bone stock because I like the original engine better than the engine that sounds like bees humming. lol xD

The ring, best recreation of it like EVER, on consoles anyway.

You still don't get it. There was more to hybriding than making stupidly fast cars.

Pretty much everything you said coffe.:)
I still get exciting by GT5 from just seeing a maintenance notice just through the possibility of new content.:D
I get a thrill from racing/competing online.
I enjoy taking pics of my favourite cars.
Just cruising is fun for me too.
I love cars.:)
GT is my favourite series of games.

Creating a Giulia Zagato only online lobby with SS tyres at the Ring(or any other race I can imagine).
But no, people only play 550pp RS tyres (NSX race) then get bored after a month and start creating hybrids.
You see a pattern here?

I like cars.
And I like driving them and experience their borders.
I love the Ring.

Hacking is modifying a program with it's intent on being malicious. Hybrids were not even close to malicious.

And if they have a problem with people modding their stuff then they shouldn't have even distributed it in the first place.

Well thanks man :) I'm so glad to have met someone how appreciates the game as much as I do :D

Still not allowed though.

The utterly amazing engine sounds.

^ Not sure if serious or sarcastic.

I sadly can't think of an antonym for seriousness.

I've always enjoyed playing GT on every generation of PS. The amount of cars and attention to detail that you get with the game just makes it a really nice game to play. The online element of GT5 keeps me playing and trying to improve my abilities.

That is how I feel about this game. Every game deserves a reward cuz they have been able to make the gameplay so fresh that Forza (bias statement in 3....2....1....) can't compete with anything that GT5 puts out because Gran Turismo is much more realistic than Forza in my opinion. :D

I like going on and seeing cars in the UCD that I have never seen before. I also have a 685 HP Mitsubishi GTO that is drag tuned to perfection, which I look forward to using today.
