What Attracts you to GT5?

My favourite part about GT5 is the racing, it's a racing game and that's why I bought it. To Race.

The fact that you think Hybrid cars in GT5 ruin races baffles me.
Ask the drifting community how it "ruined" Formula Drift style racing. Engine swaps are what fuel Formula D in real life, people were simply replicating it here.
Furthermore, me and many other friends were making GT3 spec cars such as Gallardo GT3, Ford GT GT3, Aston GT3, 458 GT3, and many more.. This made racing better to the people who used it in an automotive enthusiast's sense rather then a "hacker's sense".. Just my 2 cents ;)

I've played GT since #1 was released. I'm a gearhead & love tuning my cars, but what I love the most about GT5 is the awesome online experience 👍 Spending weekends racing with my friends is the best thing PD has implemented in it's franchise :) Now the anticipation grows as to what GT6 is going to be like ?

Another good thread coffee, good job. ;)👍 I'm glad you bucked up your ideas and became a good, contributing member (and didn't leave :scared:).

--------

I simply love being able to drive over 1000 cars, and paint them as I see fit (I doubt thar more than a few people have similar garages - I don't recall seeing a great deal of matching cars).
Also, me being a fan of the usual/uncommon, it's good that the game caters for all tastes.:)

Thats cool :D I gave my Lambo SV a grey on red pearlescent paint, and lemme tell you, it makes the car so pretty. It really makes the car shine. :)👍

That sounds really nice, and agreed. :D:tup:

1.Variety of vehicles. Street cars on comfort tires with no aids my favorite for offline.
2. Online racing with friends. Doesn't even matter what cars are used.

Thanks :D I'm going to try my best to come up with good threads. I've found the breakthrough that I needed :) yea I agree with the variety. It really helps us stretch the mind and let's us be more creative in our own way :)

That's the spirit bud. W00T!

Seeing if I can match lap times at Tsukuba, Suzuka, Motegi and Fuji with the cars that Best Motoring use. I also try to match 0-100kmh times with official real world times. The car detailing. The in-car view, time change and watching replays keep me playing GT5.

The variety of cars and trying to break the real life le sarthe track record in the same car used (the multi colored peugeot 908) without turbos I'm just 2 seconds off AGH!!

Drifting, Drag racing, and DIRTY SHUFFLE!

Something about stock premium cars around the 'ring seems to make the bacon for me.

The immersive feel of HUD off and interior view with the volume turned up gives me all the feels.

It wasn't what drew me in first, but it's a niche that I've found in the game.

Yea I can relate to that. 👍 I think the best car and track to have the HUD off is the Honda Weider on Le Sarthe (2009 at night time). :)

There is nothing like the classic Ferrari(sorry forgot the name)going around le sarthe at night.

That is how I feel about this game. Every game deserves a reward cuz they have been able to make the gameplay so fresh that Forza (bias statement in 3....2....1....) can't compete with anything that GT5 puts out because Gran Turismo is much more realistic than Forza in my opinion. :D

You haven't even played Forza have you?

And what makes you feel that the gameplay is so stale in comparison to GT5?

I don't feel the vibe that I get from GT5. It's just like an NFS game if you were comparing cars because it just feels that its not offering as much as GT5 does. Forza only has 150+ cars while GT5 has over 1000+ cars. There isn't any competition for Forza because GT5 blows it out of the water. Even my little brother tells me that Forza sucks and he would rather play GT5. I might be bias towards Forza but IGN is extremely bias towards GT5. So its all in taste to the people. But I just don't get the vibe that its all about the cars like GT5 does.

What?

I'm not sure where you're getting these numbers from, but Gran Turismo 5 has 1064 cars (roughly 200 premium and 800 standard) and Forza 4 has 700+ cars with large monthly DLC packs, all of which are of around standard quality. It's definitely offering as much (if not more) than GT5 as the cars are more fairly picked from around the world and there are near to no duplicates of cars. Your little brother's opinion means nothing in this debate. And who told you anything about IGN being biased? If anything, they were extremely easygoing on their review with GT5, and I agreed with most of the points they gave.

Well I don't even know why you wanted to debate with me anyway. It's pointless. If you life Forza so much, go to the Forza forums, not here. And this forum that asks you what attracts you to GT5 so stick to the forum. And you haven't seen the IGN review for the Forza 4 vs GT5 Spec 2.0 review have you? It was bias.

Yea I have. They have those demos at Best Buy. ._.

Unbelievable. Actually OWN a Forza game so you can get the full experience before judging it and get your facts straight too while you're at it.

Photomode, the 'Ring and drifting. Or used to be, should I say. The latter got boring pretty quickly due to the lack of customization and tuning options.

Nope. Not buying a crapbox 360. sorry buts that's never going to happen. 👎:yuck: now stick to the thread. =_=

When my brother bought GT5, I started playing it immediately. Because of some differences compared to GT4, I didn't quite get into the game. Particularly, I found annoying having to use the sticks, when I used to play with the pad in my GT4 days to great effect. I don't consider myself to be a bad driver in GT5, but I'm certainly slower than I used to be in GT4, as if I haven't reached my full potential. In a manner of speaking, I was on par with the great drivers that aren't alien, and in GT5, I'm slower than the great drivers to the point they feel alien to me.

A month ago, however, I decided to insert the GT5 disc, just for kicks. And since then, I've been playing it regularly. It's a shame the events selection is so limited in A-Spec (Seasonal Events aren't really interesting to me due to the way races are played), plus the fact we don't have the Family Cups present in GT4. But still, sometimes I manage to have a good time in a car, and that takes me away from this world. It feels like I'm no longer here, but at the same time, I'm not playing the game, something that doesn't happen to me in PES 2013 (I live it like a real match) or CoD: MW3 (too many annoying things going on to actually feel calm while playing).

In other words, GT5 is like a spiritual retreat for me and my thoughts.

It's funny because you were the one who brought up Forza when it wasn't neccessary. A word of advice, try to make sure you don't derail you own thread if you want others to stay on topic as well.

Coffeedrinker obviously had too much coffee today.

No, its illegal to hack games and try to cheat. You people just suck so bad at racing that it was your last resort to actually earn money in the game. The game series has been around since 1998 and they have always been about racing fairly with cars that we can buy in the real world and or race with. The only reason why you think that using those cars are cool, is only because that its the only thing you can use to win against people. It doesn't take skill to drive and its outright sad.

This is my first and last post regarding recent events brought about by one of the most inane co,mments that I have seen that it has to qualify mightily as a troll.

We suck so bad at racing?....sorry, there are quite a number of very good racers here who got into building hybrids simply for the pure enjoyment of it as this game has long gone past boring regarding looking for races which gave real excitement ( a small number of events notwithstanding).

Racing fairly with cars?...if you mean the eternal chase of the rabbit you've missed the boat entirely as to what fair racing is.

The only thing you can use to win against people?....seriously, this is a valid or coherent argument?

You think using these cars are cool?....what next, our mothers wear army boots as well?

The only way to earn money in the game?....If it was ever about earning money, the $20mil limit makes that argument about as valid as the 'army boots/mother' level point.

And you have the gall to call yourself coffeedrinker when most of the serious coffee drinkers I know are manic lunatics (self included) who seek excellence in theiir chosen pursuits. I suppose you drink instant?

You brought up Forza and posted what was clear flame bait without actually being in a position to comment about detailed experience with both titles (GT5 and FM4).

You opened that door, don't then complain when others walk through it, particular when it trying to shut others down you then post more flame-bait. This started as a good solid discussion, you even managed to keep it on track with regard to the hacking posts (but the personal attacks need to stop from you) and you then go and ruin it all by heading wildly off-topic yourself with ridiculously inaccurate nonsense and then moan when people point that out.

You need to keep in mind that this is not a partisan Sony/GT site and if you keep on with attacks on other companies and series based on your own inaccurate bias then it doesn't bode well for your long term membership.

It's funny that your still talking about this. Your advise isn't needed.

What personal attacks? Please tell me when in this thread have I attacked someone for liking anything. I didn't say anything about someone being stupid for liking Xbox or Forza, I was stating my problems with it because someone asked me why I think that way. I simply spoke my opinion and yea I admit to being bias about it, but at least I gave a warning before I said anything.
